Qianxi San (Dry Lacquer Powder): Treats women's Shan (a type of abdominal mass or pain, distinct from men's) and Jia (abdominal mass) that persists without resolving. Note: Although the terms "Shan" and "Jia" are used together here, this formula focuses primarily on "Jia." This is because women also suffer from a condition called "Shan." Generally, the meaning of "Shan" implies something protruding like a mountain peak; otherwise, why are they often mentioned together? It causes sallow complexion and emaciation, distension and stifling sensation in both hypochondriac regions, and pain in the heart and abdomen.
Ingredients: Qianxi (Dry Lacquer, processed by stir-frying until smoke ceases), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Yuanhua (Genkwa Flos, processed with vinegar), Chishao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Hupo (Succinum, ground), each half liang; Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, stir-fried), two liang; Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix), seven qian half; Taoren (Persicae Semen), one liang; Shexiang (Moschus), two qian half.
Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. Take one qian per dose, mixed with warm wine, at any time.
Danggui San (Angelica Powder): Treats women's Shan and Jia, where blood and qi attack causing stabbing pain, and unbearable pain in the heart and abdomen. (This formula is mostly used for Liver meridian disorders.)
Ingredients: Biejia (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum, roasted with vinegar), two liang; Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and slightly stir-fried); Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex); Binglang (Arecae Semen); Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, sliced and slightly stir-fried), each one liang; Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma); Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus, soaked in water seven times); Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix); Qingpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride, white pith removed), each half liang; Peng'ezhu (Curcumae Zedoariae Rhizoma); Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra); Taoren (Persicae Semen, soaked in water, skin and tips removed, bran-roasted to light yellow), each seven qian five fen.
Grind into a powder. Take three qian per dose, with one qian three fen of fresh ginger, decocted in water and taken hot, at any time.
Sha Wan (Realgar Pill): Treats women's Shan and Jia, as well as accumulated stagnant blood within the zang organs, causing intermittent attacking pain in the abdomen and hypochondrium. (Specifically targets stagnant blood; it is a cooling blood-moving formula, indicating that ancients did not exclusively rely on warming methods; selection depends on the practitioner.)
Ingredients: Chuanniaoxiao (Natrii Sulfas, also known as Mirabilite), Shashi (Realgar), each one liang; Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix); Xionghuang (Realgar); Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex), each half liang; Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, processed); Sanleng (Sparganii Rhizoma), each two liang.
Grind into a fine powder. Use one bowl of rice vinegar to decoct the Dahuang powder into a paste. Then add the remaining powdered medicines and mix to form pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take ten pills on an empty stomach with warm wine, gradually increasing to twenty pills. Continue until foul matter is discharged.
Badou Wan (Croton Seed Pill): Treats women's Shan and Jia, and pain due to blood and qi disorders. (Suitable for blood, qi, phlegm, and food stagnation, but the medicine is too potent; use with caution.)
Ingredients: Badou (Crotonis Fructus, skin and heart removed, boiled in vinegar for half a day), two qian half; Shashi (Realgar); Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, stir-fried), each one liang; Wulingzhi (Trogopterori Faeces); Taoren (Persicae Semen), each seven qian half; Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), half liang. (All above ingredients should be ground into powder separately.)
Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of mung beans. Take five pills on an empty stomach with light vinegar water, or warm wine is also acceptable.
Heishen Wan (Black Divine Pill)
Ingredients: Shenqu (Massa Medicata Fermentata), Xiang (Agarwood/Aquilaria Lignum Resinatum), each four liang; Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix); Jiao (Zanthoxyli Fructus, stir-fried until sweat appears); Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos), each half liang; Binglang (Arecae Semen), four pieces; Qi (Lac Cum Cerussa/Dry Lacquer), six liang (half raw, half boiled in a double boiler for half a day until fragrant).
Except for Jiao and Qi, the other five materials are half raw and half stir-fried, then ground into a fine powder. Mix with the aforementioned raw and cooked Qi to form pills the size of a bullet. Spread twelve liang of Xiang powder on the ground in the shade to dry. Once dry, store the pills with the Xiang powder in a container until extremely dry, then remove the Xiang powder. Treats Kidney qi issues, Pangguang (Bladder) pi (accumulation), Shan prolapse, Wu Ge (Five Obstructions), Xue Beng (Metrorrhagia), various postpartum bleeding, leukorrhea with red and white discharge. Take one pill divided into four doses. For retained dead fetus, take one pill with sheep ash wine. For difficult labor, crush forty-nine fried Abelmoschus esculentus seeds, decoct in wine, and take. Various diseases resolve within three doses; Qi disorders within ten doses. Ge Qi (Diaphragmatic Qi) and Jia within five doses; Blood Jia resolves with three pills.
Case: A woman had a large mass in her abdomen like a cup, causing unbearable pain upon onset. Other medicines failed. After taking three doses of this pill, the "cup qi" completely dissipated, and she never suffered from it again.
Lu Wan (Dew Pill): Treats cold invading internally, causing qi stagnation and lack of flow, accumulating outside the intestines. Over time, it forms a Jia, causing intermittent pain and inability to extend the waist. Named Changtan (Intestinal Polyp/Mass).
Ingredients: Guangzhu (Curcumae Longae Rhizoma, soaked in wine, sliced); Sanleng (Sparganii Rhizoma, soaked in wine, sliced), each one liang; Qianxi (Dry Lacquer, washed to remove fishy smell, stir-fried until smoke ceases); Chuanwu (Aconiti Radix Preparata), each five qian; Shashi (Realgar), four qian; Qingpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride); Xionghuang (Realgar, ground separately); Huixiang (Foeniculi Fructus, salt-roasted); Shanjia (Manis Squama, processed), each three qian; Qingfen (Calomelas), one qian (ground separately); Shexiang (Moschus), half qian (ground separately); Badou (Crotonis Fructus), thirty pieces (skin removed, cut open).
Except for the ground medicines, stir-fry Badou with Sanleng and Guangzhu until yellow, then discard the Badou. Grind the remaining ingredients into powder, mix evenly with the ground medicines. Use fresh ginger juice to make a paste and form pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take twenty to thirty pills per dose with ginger water or wine, on an empty stomach before meals.
Wuhui Wan (Aconitum Pill): Treats Changtan (Intestinal Mass), also treats Yu Ru (residual breast milk/mass), and men's Shan Qi (Hernia).

Grind into powder, mix with refined honey to form pills the size of mung beans. Take three to five pills per dose after meals, taken freely with wine.
Jian Dan (See Pill): Treats cold pathogens lodging in the Lower Jiao, causing blood and qi obstruction leading to Jia, which grows daily, resembling pregnancy. Named Shijia (Stone Jia).
Ingredients: Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata, processed, skin and navel removed), four qian; Guijianyu (Strychni Nux-vomicae Ramulus); Zhiyingshi (Quartzum Roseum), each three qian; Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma); Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex); Yanshusuo (Corydalis Rhizoma); Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), each two qian; Xuexie (Draco Sanguis), one qian half (ground separately); Shizhi (Hirudo); Binglang (Arecae Semen), two qian half; Taoren (Persicae Semen), thirty pieces (ground separately); Sanleng (Sparganii Rhizoma), five qian; Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma).
Grind into a fine powder. Use wine paste to form pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take thirty pills per dose with vinegar water or warm wine, before meals. (Cold is warmed, stagnation is moved; since the disease is in the Lower Jiao, blood-invigorating herbs are predominantly used.)
Luhui Wan (Aloe Pill): Treats Gan Jia (Pediatric Malnutrition Syndrome with Abdominal Mass), muscle emaciation, fever and tidal fever, loss of appetite, dry mouth and thirst, or Liver Gan with food stagnation, sores in mouth and nose, erosion and rotting of gums, etc.
Ingredients: Luhui (Aloe); Huhuanglian (Picrorhizae Rhizoma); Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, stir-fried); Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix); Baiwuyi (Brassicae Semius, stir-fried); Qingpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride), each five qian; Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix); Fuling (Poria); Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), each one liang half; Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-roasted), seven qian.
Grind into powder. Use rice paste to form pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take seventy to eighty pills per dose with rice water. (This is a pediatric formula for Gan accumulation. Do women have this? It was likely collected here merely due to the name "Gan Jia".)
