Longan. Indicated for nourishing blood and calming the mind, enhancing intelligence and consolidating sweat, resolving gu poison (parasitic disease), eliminating pathogenic qi of the five zang organs, and opening the stomach and benefiting the spleen. It is contraindicated for infants who have not yet been weaned to harvest it. The shell, ground into powder, serves as a medicine for knife wounds, achieving the fastest wound closure. The leaves, dried and ground into powder, are applied to the "Seven Stars" area of an infant's head; during smallpox eruption, only a few spots will appear. It also resolves fetal toxin. Administering seven leaves to children is most effective. The core, ground into powder, can dissipate goiter (enlarged thyroid).

Lychee, sweet and slightly sour in taste, warm in nature, non-toxic. Relieves thirst and irritability, beautifies complexion, unites spirit and strengthens qi. Fresh lychees are extremely sweet and delicious; eating them does not induce satiety or aversion, and even excessive consumption does not harm the body. However, overeating causes fullness; fish soup is particularly beneficial. Dried lychees, fire-roasted, if consumed in excess, trigger deficiency heat and disturb blood, causing toothache and mouth pain; patients with fire-heat conditions should strictly avoid them.
One method treats persistent hiccups: roast seven lychees (including peel and core) until carbonized but retaining efficacy, grind into powder, and take with plain hot water for immediate cessation. The core, slowly roasted until carbonized, ground into powder, and taken with wine, treats heart pain, specifically pain from intestinal hernia (small intestine hernia); taking one or two qian also results in recovery.
For excessive lychee consumption, honey water resolves the toxicity; this is the theory of Su Song, recorded in *Bencao Gangmu* (Compendium of Materia Medica). Regarding the claim that fish soup is particularly good, I dare not believe it; perhaps it is a transcription error? According to my observation in Fujian, those who overeat lychees use shells soaked in water to drink, or shells carbonized and soaked in water to drink, or drink a cup of soy sauce.

Pishaozi (a type of plant, likely referring to *Gardenia jasminoides* seeds or similar local herb used as a whistle toy), bitter in taste, slightly cold in nature. The skin treats bladder hernia pain. The seed shell kills parasites.
Once, a person drinking water accidentally inhaled a leech into their nose. They suffered frequent dizziness and headache, constant bleeding and discharge from the nose, yellow complexion, and emaciation. Later, they received this prescription from someone: holding a cup of water near the nose, the leech, seeing the water, extended from the nostril but retracted when moved. Pishaozi seed shell was ground into powder and insufflated into the nose, causing the leech to fall out naturally.

Pishaozi, bitter in taste, slightly cold in nature. Mainly indicated for seven types of hernia and liver manifestations: for Qi hernia and Fox hernia, use Fennel (*Foeniculum vulgare*) as a guiding herb. For Water hernia, use Tangerine Peel (*Citrus reticulata*) as a guiding herb. For others, use Orange Seed (*Citrus reticulata* seed) as a guiding herb. Burned to ash and insufflated into the nose, it treats various insects entering the brain, resulting in immediate cure. Round ones belong to Yang, treating Qi; smooth/shiny ones belong to Yin, treating Blood.
