(When using Badou (Croton Seed), Dou, and Gangzi, must carefully distinguish them to avoid fatal errors. Badou grains are small, tight, solid, yellow like soybeans; Dou grains have three edges and are black; Gangzi grains are small like jujube pits, pointed at both ends. When using Badou and Dou, use Gangzi. Do not use [Fan xiushi badou qiaosui quyou jing yong bai juan dai bao gancao shuizhu bei gan huo yan gao yong mei xiushi yi liang yi jiu mayou ge qihe jin wei du wei chuangyang fu yao xu chao hei cun xing neng qu yurou sheng xinrou you shen henhua weizhishidehuoliang e suocaoganniu wei dahuang lilu huanglian lusun jiang chi douzhi lengshui]. Process Badou by crushing, removing oil, wrapping in white silk bag, boiling with Gancao (Licorice Root), baking dry, or grinding into paste. For every liang processed, use seven he each of wine and sesame oil as the limit. For applying to sores and ulcers, stir-fry until charred but retaining nature, which can remove necrotic tissue and generate new tissue, with miraculous effect. Yuanhua (Kadsura Flower) is its guide drug, benefits from fire, dislikes Suocao and Qianniu, fears Dahuang (Rhubarb), Lulu (Veratrum), Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome), Lusun (Asparagus Fern), Jiang (Ginger), Chi (Fermented Soybean), Douzhi (Bean Juice), and Lengshui (Cold Water).)
(Also known as Nanjiao (Southern Pepper). When using, remove the eyes and mouth parts, do not use. First mix pepper seeds with wine to moisten, steam from Si hour to Wu hour, cover tightly, remove from heat when no vapor escapes from four sides, then put into porcelain container, avoid exposure to wind. Xingren (Apricot Seed) is its guide drug, benefits from salt, fears Kuandonghua (Fritillaria Flower), Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root), Fuzi (Aconite Root), Xionghuang (Realgar), Wulengshui (Five Cold Waters), and Marenjiang (Hemp Seed Slurry).)
(When using, must choose red, greasy, plump ones not infested with worms. Soak in fresh well water for one night, scrape off rough skin with copper knife, roast repeatedly with Su (Butter) until butter is exhausted, take out, pound to remove seeds, grind and sieve. One liang of Zhaojia (Gleditsia Sinensis Fruit), two parts of Su. Select round, hard, non-infested ones, store in bottle, boil with water near fire, after processing, peel off one layer of hard skin, take the inner white tender meat in two pieces, remove the yellow part. The yellow part consumes Kidney Qi. Cut the white two pieces finely with copper knife and dry in the sun. Another method: wrap in flour and bake to remove core. Baishi (Platycladi Semen) is its guide drug, dislikes Maidong (Ophiopogon Tuber), fears Kongqing (Azurite), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Kushen (Sophora Root), subdues Dansha (Cinnabar), Fenshuang (Calomel), Liuhuang (Sulfur), and Sha (Salt).)
