子知事多，旱而无雨急出颗，处处旱魃若不退，自然将来九毒磨。利宫苍黑色来侵，
头大根细定然轻，将来必至皮儿浓，肚腹数枚可放心。贞宫淡白色来多，稠密始知
甚恶窠，决然五经齐聚会，三五之期挖破皮。天宫两壁少人知，黑色出边甚多亏，自
然将来大限到，十一十二往瑶池。（死在申酉二时。）
肺肝两经一齐攻，港中拖粘根窝红，羊车羊里方知证，不必忧疑但放宽。靴干两
会一齐荒，根窠红活起帝黄，此痘定然多吉庆，治之不必挂心肠，带黑相随一路行，
内中多有白根侵，此痘若见多凶候，施救
之功决要明。元宫筋纹白而多，密密如蚕怎奈何，再加白色兼青色，总是神仙把手搓。
震坤二部红活者，决主痒塌抓破，谵语狂乱，不能灌浆。或寒或热，定然八日亥子二时命绝。
风庭印堂不起浆，决主切牙寒战。
艮兑二部痘如灰白，决主初起泄泻，凶。

看手掌中，则知痘后眼睛或伤一只或伤二只，或发痈毒。在于何处预先可知。
死期何以识？全凭八卦推。离宫如遇逆，子日死何疑，震巽甲日死，兑绝午无
移。八卦之方位，胸中治法奇，秘传元妙诀，何用再三思。

It is determined that the Tianxin star will shine tomorrow, bringing relief, though few understand the significance of "two connecting limbs." Who knows the complexities of the Heng Palace? When drought brings no rain, urgent eruption of pustules is needed. If the "drought demon" (pathogenic factor) does not recede, the nine poisons (toxic qi of specific seasons) will naturally afflict in the future. The Li Palace invades with gray-black color; a large head and thin root indicate a mild condition. Later, thick skin pustules will appear, but several on the abdomen allow for reassurance. The Zhen Palace shows much pale white; density reveals a severe nest. It is determined that the five meridians converge, and by the third or fifth period, the skin may be broken open. Few know the two walls of the Tian Palace; black appearing at the edges indicates great loss. Naturally, when the final limit arrives, one departs to Yaochi (death).
The Lung and Liver meridians attack simultaneously; the blisters drag and are sticky, with red roots. Only by riding the sheep cart and entering the sheep enclosure can the syndrome be known; there is no need to worry, just relax. The Xuegan areas are both barren; the root nests are red and lively with imperial yellow. This smallpox will surely bring good fortune; treatment requires no anxiety. If black follows along the path, and white roots invade inside, this smallpox presents ominous signs; the efficacy of rescue must be clear. In the Yuan Palace, white tendons are numerous and dense like silkworms; adding white mixed with green means even immortals would wring their hands in helplessness. If the Zhen and Kun areas are red and lively, it determines itching, collapse from scratching, delirium, madness, and failure to fill with pus. Whether cold or hot, life will end at the Hai and Zi hours on the eighth day. If Fengting and Yintang fail to produce pus, it determines grinding teeth and chills. If Gen and Dui areas show ash-white pustules, it determines initial diarrhea, which is ominous.
Observing the palm reveals whether post-smallpox eyes are damaged in one or both, or if carbuncles develop. The location can be known in advance. How to recognize the time of death? It relies entirely on Bagua deduction. If Li Palace encounters adverse conditions, death occurs on Zi days without doubt; Zhen and Xun lead to death on Jia days; Dui ends at Wu hours without shift. The positions of the Eight Trigrams hold miraculous treatment methods in the mind; secret profound formulas require no repeated thought.
