On the second day, continue using the leftover medicinal water from the previous day. Add one liang of *Sophorae Flavescentis Cortex* (Ku Shen) and one large bowl of water, decoct it, then add five qian of prepared *Natrii Sulfas* (Zhi Xiao) powder. Perform fumigation and washing as before. On the third day, follow the washing method of the second day.
On the fourth day, do not use the old medicinal water. Instead, prepare fresh water and decoct *Sophorae Flavescentis Cortex* (Ku Shen) and prepared *Natrii Sulfas* (Zhi Xiao) for washing, following the method of the first day. Change the medication every three days; the hemorrhoids will naturally subside and never recur.
Hemorrhoids: Form *Cyperus Longus Rhizome* (Xian Xiang) into pills. Take two qian per dose, swallowed with plain warm water.
Miraculous Formula for Hemorrhoidal Fistula (by Gu Yushu):
Inner membrane of chicken eggshell (calcined to retain nature), three qian; *Human Hair Carbon* (Xue Yu), three qian; *Gypsum Fibrosum* (Shi Gao), two qian; *Borneolum Syntheticum* (Bing Pian), five fen; *Tectona Grandis Root Bark* (Er Cha), five fen; *Draconis Sanguis* (Xue Jie), three fen.
Grind all ingredients together into an extremely fine powder and apply externally to the affected area. The pus and discharge will dry up naturally, and the root of the fistula will fall off on its own. Additionally, take one jin of genuine Geng Bing (a type of refined sugar/candy base), half a jin of *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Praeparatum cum Melle* (Fen Gan Cao), pound them evenly, and form into pills. Take three qian each morning on an empty stomach, swallowed with plain warm water. This is a secret formula, verified effective on many people; it will certainly work.
Internal Hemorrhoids: Fumigate and wash with decoction of *Ilex Aquifolioides Leaf* (Dong Qing Ye).
External Hemorrhoids: Fumigate and wash with decoction of *Trionycis Carapax et Plastrum* (Bie Jia) and *Galae Chinosae* (Wu Bei Zi).
Hemorrhoids: Take one walnut kernel (Guang Yuan Rou), wrap five fen of *Alumen* (Ming Fan) inside. Chew thoroughly and swallow with boiling water. After seven days, increase the dosage of *Alumen* (Ming Fan) to one qian; after fourteen days, increase to one qian and five fen. Stop when the hemorrhoid withers.
Another prescription: Take one green cake, insert one qian of yellow beeswax inside, place in a bowl, and steam over rice until cooked. In the early morning, chew one piece finely with boiled water. Continue until healed.
Another prescription: Wash with decoction of *Toona Sinensis* bark and leaves.
Another prescription: Wash with decoction of *Smilax Glabra Rhizome* (Cao Lian Gen).
Swelling and Pain of Hemorrhoids: Wash with decoction of *Benincasa Fructus* (Dong Gua).
Gu Cheng stated: When hemorrhoids first arise, they may be caused by rushing or running too hastily, leading to blood stasis condensing in the intestines and flowing to the anus; by excessive sexual desire, retaining semen and forcing retention; by indulgence in strong wine; by a preference for spicy, fried, roasted, or grilled foods; by damp-heat stagnation; by chronic cough and Qi deficiency, with multiple fires scorching Yin; by prolonged sitting causing Qi and blood condensation; by women with dry blood and constipation, straining excessively during defecation; by excessive effort during childbirth causing blood stasis and knotting; by spleen diarrhea and kidney leakage causing sinking of Yuan Qi; or by chronic dysentery causing Qi sinking. All these conditions can lead to hemorrhoids. There are many types of hemorrhoids, named according to their shape or their position (anterior, posterior, left, right, internal, external). After ulceration, they often become fistulas that fail to close. If treated solely with bitter-cold herbs internally and externally without proper internal regulation and external washing, the Spleen's primal Qi will be daily damaged, making muscle regeneration difficult. Alternatively, if physicians recklessly use knives, needles, medicated threads for ligation, lead weights for suspension, or sharp scissors for cutting, healthy flesh is injured. Daily application involves inserting and withdrawing medicines, grinding the new flesh around the wound into hard tubes day by day, penetrating deeper each time. This is indeed the fault of the physician. However, patients, seeing that although pus and blood flow from the ulcerated hemorrhoid, there is no pain, continue to drink alcohol freely, indulge in sex, and eat spicy and fried foods without restriction. Even without the harm of knives, scissors, or medicated threads, it is impossible for them not to develop fistulas. Thus, the sources leading to fistulas are numerous. Furthermore, some self-deluded individuals claim that hemorrhoidal fistulas cannot be cured, arguing that leaving this "portal" allows damp-heat to exude externally; if the wound were closed, the damp-heat would have no outlet. They fail to realize that the Kidney opens into the two yin orifices, and the anal canal (Guy Dao) is the portal of the Kidney. If bleeding and fluid discharge persist year-round, True Yin is consumed here, and Righteous Qi is depleted here. How can one ensure that consumption diseases (Lao Zhai, such as tuberculosis) do not develop? Moreover, if damp-heat truly originates from the Large Intestine, it should exit directly through the Large Intestine. Why would it enter the Large Intestine but not exit, instead leaking slowly through the fistula opening? Therefore, it is crucial to tonify and support early in the course of hemorrhoids, benefiting Qi and preserving Yuan Qi. One must avoid bitter-cold herbs for internal use, external application, or washing. Patients must strictly abstain from alcohol and sexual activity for one hundred days. Under these conditions, healing without closing the wound is inconceivable. If these taboos are not observed, even miraculous elixirs will hardly achieve efficacy.
