Doulin Jiu (Black Bean Dripping Wine): Take 6–7 he of black beans, stir-fry until fragrant. Pour one bowl of bran-qu wine over the hot beans, immediately remove the beans and retain only the wine. Add 5 qian of Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), decoct until the liquid is reduced by half, take warm to induce sweating, and avoid wind. For postpartum convulsions, remove Qianghuo and add 5 qian of Suye (Perillae Folium).
Another prescription: Take a pinch of black beans, stir-fry in a pan until hot, pour in 3–4 cups of non-ashy wine, boil for three to five times, mix with a small amount of Zhensha (Cinnabar) powder, and take orally.
Moxibustion method: Collect cerumen from the human ear, dry it on paper by roasting, grind into powder, mix with Qi Ai (Artemisia argyi) to form moxa cones, and apply moxibustion to the injured area.
Another prescription: Take half a walnut shell, fill it with extremely dry human feces, place the injury on a lining of Huai Baipi (Phellodendri Cortex), add moxa cones for moxibustion, continuing until profuse sweating permeates the whole body. After sweating, the patient will feel exhausted; recovery occurs after one sleep. This is also effective for dog bites.
For tetanus where various medicines fail, indicating a critical situation, or for treating convulsions such as pig epilepsy and sheep epilepsy, characterized by fainting and loss of consciousness:
Biaojiao (Colla Corii Asini, cut and lightly stir-fried), Hangfen (likely Starch or specific local powder, roasted yellow), Zaojian (Vitriol, stir-fried to red color, each 1 liang), Zhusha (Cinnabar, separately ground and water-washed, 3 qian).
Grind the first three ingredients together, then incorporate Zhusha and grind again. Take 2 qian each time, mixed with non-ashy wine to induce sweating. Apply external moxibustion of seven moxa cones; feeling pain is a favorable sign. For pig or sheep epilepsy, take 3 qian per dose, administered continuously for two doses.
For tetanus presenting with trismus (lockjaw) and rigidity: Burn Yujiao (Fish Maw/Collagen) until carbonized but retaining its nature, grind into powder, add a small amount of Shexiang (Musk), take 2 qian each time, mixed with wine. For those who do not drink alcohol, use Suomu (Sappan Wood) decoction to mix. Externally, dissolve 1 qian of Yujiao in water and apply to seal the wound, or use a piece of gelatin sized to the wound, moisten it, melt with fire, and apply as a patch.
Another prescription: Take mulberry branches about one chi long, approximately ten dozen roots, roast over fire to extract juice, mix with wine, and take orally.
Another prescription: Collect large larvae of scarab beetles (Xiqicao) found under thatched roofs or in manure piles. Hold them upside down until saliva flows out, drip the saliva onto the wound. The whole body will become numb, and life returns upon sweating. This is a miraculous formula.
Tianma San (Gastrodia Powder):
Jingjie Sui (Schizonepetae Spica, 3 liang), Tianma (Gastrodiae Rhizoma), Sheng Nanting (Arisaema Cum Bile, processed, skin and umbilicus removed), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, each 1 liang).
Grind into fine powder. Take 5 qian each time, mixed with decoction of scallion whites (including roots).
Indicated for tetanus, postpartum convulsions, and severe pediatric acute or chronic convulsions. Dry Buama Pi (Toad Skin), roast on a yin-yang tile until slightly yellow, grind finely, add a small amount of Dangmenzi (Musk), mix with white wine, take orally, cover with blankets to induce sweating.
Miraculous for treating tetanus, blood stasis with qi stagnation, and needles embedded in flesh (from *Jinnang*). Burn Crow Feathers until carbonized, grind finely, take 1 qian mixed with wine, or swallow with plain boiled water.
For tetanus with uncontrolled bleeding: Apply Danggui powder externally.
For tetanus with edema: Grind Chantui (Cicada Slough) into powder, mix with scallion juice, apply to the affected area to draw out toxic fluids immediately.
For tetanus with alternating chills and fever in critical condition (from *Danfang*): Roast 4 liang of Chantui into powder, mix and take orally.
Duoming San (Life-Restoring Powder, from *Sanyin Fang*): Treats injuries from falls, metal wounds, tetanus, pain due to dampness, and rigidity resembling spasms.
Nanting (Arisaema Cum Bile, processed), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, equal parts).
Grind into fine powder. Mix with water to apply externally to the wound until fluid exudes; this is ideal. Also, take 1 qian mixed with warm wine internally. If the patient appears dead but the heart remains warm,灌 (administer) 2 qian mixed with hot Tongbian (Child's Urine). For internal injuries from fighting or crushing, mix wine and Tongbian, administer continuously for three doses to restore consciousness; this can also be decocted and administered.
Yuzhen San (True Jade Powder, from *Jiyuan*):
Nanting (Arisaema Cum Bile), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Ming Tianma (Gastrodiae Rhizoma), Baifuzi (Fuzzy Vines' Rhizome, each equal part).
Grind into powder and apply to the affected area. For severe trauma with faint death but slight warmth at the heart, administer 2 qian mixed with hot wine and Tongbian, continue for two doses to instantly restore life. For tetanus with lockjaw, opisthotonos, teeth grinding, and tongue retraction, take 3 qian mixed with Tongbian for instant recovery.
Miraculous Life-Restoring Formula for Tetanus (by Zhou Hexian):

Another prescription:
Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, roasted), Caowu (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix, processed with ginger juice, each 1 qian).
Grind into powder. Mix with warm wine and take orally, stopping when sweating occurs.
