鼠胆（一枚） 龙齿 朱砂 冰片 麝香（各一分） 乳香 潮脑（各五厘）
研细。人乳和丸桐子大，外用丝绵包裹塞入耳底，塞三日。
又方 全蝎去毒为末。酒调滴耳中，闻水声即聪。

小蛇皮（要头尾全，一条， 灰） 冰片 麝香（各三厘）
共乳细。鹅毛管吹耳内，即通。
加味地黄丸
六味地黄汤料加 枸杞子 当归身 麦门冬（各三两） 甘菊花 白芍药（各二两） 柴
胡（五钱） 北五味（三钱）
炼蜜丸。每早淡盐汤送下三钱。
通耳神丹（岐天师）
鼠胆（一枚。但鼠胆最难得，须觅一大鼠，先以竹笼养之，后以纸为匣子引其藏身，内用
果品令其自食久之。忽然用棒槌击死，立时取胆，则胆在肝中，否则再不可得。干者可用，只
消用水调化入药末中，则一样也） 龙齿 冰片 麝香 朱砂（各一分） 潮脑 乳香（各五厘）
各研绝细末。以人乳为丸如桐子大，外用丝绵裹之不可太大，塞入耳之深处至不
可受而止，塞三日取出即耳聪。永不再聋，不必三丸。实耳聋亦用此方，神效。
又方（孙真人） 珍珠一粒，外用龙骨细末一分，蜜调裹在珠外；又以辰砂为衣，
绵裹塞耳中。一月后取出，再服六味地黄丸一料，不再聋。
耳聋耳鸣
黄柏（盐水炒褐色） 知母（去毛，酒浸，各四两） 肉桂（二钱）
炼蜜为丸。空心淡盐汤送下三钱。
耳聋
狗耳根骨一副（阴阳瓦焙研） 当门子（一分）
共乳细末。每用分许装入葱管尖内，有药一头用丝绵裹好插入耳窍内，但鼻中闻
见葱味，其耳即聪。
耳卒聋闭
硫黄 雄黄（各等分）
研匀。绵裹塞耳，数日即闻。
又方 龟尿滴入耳中，即闻。
又方
大枣（十五枚，去核） 萆麻子（一百粒，去壳）
同捣，入汁和作铤，每用一铤塞之，觉耳中热为度。一日一易，二十日愈。
耳鸣而聋。
松香（五钱，熬化） 巴豆（二十粒，去壳）
研匀。葱汁为丸莲子大，丝绵裹好，右聋塞左耳，左聋塞右耳，如两耳聋，次第
塞。一日一易，效如神。（一方加椒目）
又方
川黄柏（去皮，八两，乳拌晒干，再用盐水炒褐色）
磨细末。水和丸桐子大，每服百丸，空心盐汤下。
气道闭塞两耳聋，甘遂削成枣核大，绵裹塞耳，即以甘草含口中，咽汁数次，即通。
耳聋，（沈四明）白蒺藜，炒，捣，去刺，为末蜜丸。空心白汤送下三钱。
耳聋灸法 苍术一块，长七寸，将一头削平，一头削尖，以尖头插入耳内，在
平头上安箸头大艾炷灸之。轻者七壮，重者倍之。觉耳中有热气为效。
治肾虚耳聋十年者，两服可愈。小蝎四十九个，生姜如蝎大四十九片同炒，
姜干为度，拣去生姜，将蝎研末。
温酒调服，至一二更时再进一服，至醉不妨。次日耳中如笙簧声，即效。或用
全蝎去毒，单研末酒服亦效。
耳聋 生葱白塞两耳内，频换。
又方 生麻油日滴三五次，候耳中塞出，即愈。
耳聋诸药不效 惟静坐闭气一口，捏住鼻头，若早晚如此，一月气行即通。
又方（叶天士）
生甘草（三分） 连翘 牛蒡子 桔梗 羚羊角（镑） 苦丁茶（广产，梗如荷梗，有丝） 滑石
（飞，各一钱） 干荷叶（去心用边，要当年者，二钱）
作一剂，水煎食后服。
固本聪耳丸 治心肾不足诸虚耳聋。
熟地（焙，四两） 柏子仁（焙，去油） 人参（焙） 白茯神（人乳拌） 远志肉（甘草制，
各一两） 五味子（七钱） 山药（炒黄，二两） 石菖蒲（蜜酒拌，焙，五钱）
为末蜜丸。早晚食前食远、白汤送下。各服三钱。
通气散 治暴怒气闭肿胀。
茴香 石菖蒲 人参 延胡索 陈皮 广木香（各一钱） 羌活 白僵蚕 川芎 蝉
蜕（各五钱） 甘草（一钱五分） 穿山甲（二钱）
为末。酒调服二钱。
耳聋 青麻扎好做枕头，睡久而自聪。
又方
藤枕或竹枕放乌龟一个于内，夜间枕之。久而即聪。
验方
取鼠胆一枚，龙齿、朱砂、冰片、麝香各一分，乳香、潮脑（即樟脑）各五厘。将上述药材研成细粉。用人乳调和，制成如梧桐子大小的药丸。外用丝绵包裹，塞入耳底深处，连续使用三天。
又一方
取全蝎，去除毒性后研成粉末。用酒调匀，滴入耳中，听到水声般的声响即表示听力恢复。
又一方
取小蛇皮一条（需头尾完整，烧成灰），冰片、麝香各三厘。共同研磨极细。用鹅毛管吹入耳内，耳朵即可通畅。
加味地黄丸
在六味地黄汤的配方基础上，加入枸杞子、当归身、麦门冬各三两，甘菊花、白芍药各二两，柴胡五钱，北五味子三钱。炼蜜为丸。每天早晨用淡盐水送服三钱。
通耳神丹（岐天师方）
鼠胆一枚。（注：鼠胆最难获取，需找一只大老鼠，先用竹笼饲养，后用纸盒引导其藏身，盒内放果品让它自行食用较长时间。突然用棒槌击死，立即取出胆囊，此时胆还在肝脏中，否则就再也得不到了。干燥的也可以使用，只需用水化开调入药末中，效果一样。）龙齿、冰片、麝香、朱砂各一分，潮脑、乳香各五厘。分别研磨成极细的粉末。用人乳和丸，大小如梧桐子。外用丝绵包裹，不可太大，塞入耳道深处直到无法忍受为止，连续塞三天后取出，耳朵即能听清。从此不再耳聋，不需要用三丸。即使是实性耳聋也使用此方，疗效神奇。
又一方（孙真人方）
珍珠一粒，外用龙骨细末一分，蜂蜜调和包裹在珍珠外面；再用辰砂（朱砂）作为外衣，用丝绵包裹后塞入耳中。一个月后取出，再服用一料六味地黄丸，此后不再耳聋。
耳聋耳鸣
黄柏（用盐水炒至褐色），知母（去毛，酒浸），各四两，肉桂二钱。炼蜜为丸。空腹时用淡盐水送服三钱。
耳聋
狗耳根骨一副（在阴阳瓦上焙干后研磨），当门子（即麝香）一分。共同研磨成细末。每次取少许装入葱管尖端，有药的一端用丝绵裹好，插入耳窍内。只要鼻中能闻到葱味，耳朵即能听清。
耳卒聋闭（突发性耳聋耳闭塞）
硫黄、雄黄（各等分）。研磨均匀。用丝绵包裹塞入耳中，数日后即可听见声音。
又一方
大枣十五枚（去核），蓖麻子一百粒（去壳）。一同捣烂，取汁液调和做成条状药锭。每次用一锭塞入耳中，以感觉耳中发热为度。每天更换一次，二十天痊愈。
耳鸣且耳聋
松香五钱（熬化），巴豆二十粒（去壳）。研磨均匀。用葱汁和丸，大小如莲子。用丝绵裹好，右耳聋则塞左耳，左耳聋则塞右耳，若双耳均聋，则依次塞入。每天更换一次，疗效如神。（另一配方加椒目）
又一方
川黄柏八两（去皮，用乳汁拌匀晒干，再用盐水炒至褐色）。磨成细末。用水和丸，大小如梧桐子。每次服用一百丸，空腹用盐汤送下。
因气道闭塞导致的双侧耳聋，将甘遂削成枣核大小，用丝绵包裹塞入耳中，同时口中含甘草，吞咽汁液数次，耳朵即可通畅。
耳聋（沈四明方）
白蒺藜，炒制，捣碎，去刺，研成粉末，蜂蜜和丸。空腹用白开水送服三钱。
耳聋灸法
取苍术一块，长七寸，将一头削平，一头削尖，将尖头插入耳内，在平头上放置如筷子头大小的艾炷进行艾灸。轻症灸七壮，重症加倍。感觉到耳中有热气即为有效。
治疗肾虚导致的十年耳聋，服用两次即可痊愈。取小蝎子四十九个，生姜切成与蝎子同样大小的四十九片，一同炒至姜干，拣去生姜，将蝎子研成粉末。用温酒调服，到一二更天时再进服一次，喝醉也无妨。第二天耳中发出如笙簧般的声音，即为见效。或者只用全蝎去毒，单独研末，用酒送服也有效。
耳聋各种药物无效时
只需静坐，闭气一口，捏住鼻子，如果早晚都这样做，一个月后气机运行通畅，听力即可恢复。
又一方（叶天士方）
生甘草三分，连翘、牛蒡子、桔梗、羚羊角（镑片）、苦丁茶（广地产，梗如荷梗，有丝）、滑石（飞研），各一钱，干荷叶（去心只用边缘，需用当年的），二钱。作一剂，水煎，饭后服用。
固本聪耳丸
治疗心肾不足引起的各种虚证耳聋。
熟地黄（焙干，四两），柏子仁（焙干，去油），人参（焙干），白茯神（用人乳拌），远志肉（甘草制），各一两，五味子七钱，山药（炒黄，二两），石菖蒲（蜜酒拌，焙干，五钱）。
研成粉末，炼蜜为丸。早晚饭前用温水送服。每次各服三钱。
通气散
治疗暴怒导致的气机闭塞、肿胀。
茴香、石菖蒲、人参、延胡索、陈皮、广木香（各一钱），羌活、白僵蚕、川芎、蝉蜕（各五钱），甘草（一钱五分），穿山甲（二钱）。
研成粉末。用酒调服二钱。
又一方
藤枕或竹枕中放入一只乌龟，夜间枕着它睡觉。时间久了听力即可恢复。
Prescription 1
Take one mouse gallbladder, Longchi (Dragon Teeth), Zhusha (Cinnabar), Bingpian (Borneol), and Shexiang (Musk) each at 1 fen; Ruxiang (Frankincense) and Chaonao (Camphor) each at 5 li. Grind into fine powder. Mix with human milk to form pills the size of a sophora seed. Wrap in silk floss and insert deep into the ear canal for three days.
Another Prescription
Take whole scorpions, detoxify them, and grind into powder. Mix with wine and drip into the ear. Hearing is restored when a sound like water is heard.
Another Prescription
Take one small snake skin (with head and tail intact, calcined to ash), Bingpian (Borneol), and Shexiang (Musk) each at 3 li. Grind together into an extremely fine powder. Blow into the ear using a goose feather tube to restore patency.
Modified Rehmannia Pill (Jiawei Dihuang Wan)
Add Gouqizi (Goji Berry), Dangguishen (Radix Angelicae Sinensis Stem), and Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix) each at 3 liang; Ganjuhua (Chrysanthemi Flos), Baishaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) each at 2 liang; Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) at 5 qian; Bei Wuwei (Schisandrae Fructus) at 3 qian to the formula of Liuwei Dihuang Tang. Form pills with refined honey. Take 3 qian orally every morning with light salt water.
Shentong Shen Dan (Divine Efficacy Pill for Ear Patency) by Master Qi
One mouse gallbladder. (Note: Mouse gallbladders are difficult to obtain. One must find a large rat, keep it in a bamboo cage, then guide it into a paper box with fruit for self-feeding over time. Suddenly kill it with a club and immediately extract the gallbladder while it is still within the liver; otherwise, it cannot be obtained. Dried ones can be used; simply dissolve in water and mix into the powder.) Longchi (Dragon Teeth), Bingpian (Borneol), Shexiang (Musk), and Zhusha (Cinnabar) each at 1 fen; Chaonao (Camphor) and Ruxiang (Frankincense) each at 5 li. Grind each into extremely fine powder. Mix with human milk to form pills the size of a sophora seed. Wrap in silk floss (not too large) and insert deep into the ear canal until discomfort is felt. Leave for three days, then remove. Hearing will be restored permanently without needing three doses. This prescription is also effective for excess-type deafness.
Another Prescription by Sun Simiao
One pearl. Coat with 1 fen of fine Longchi (Dragon Teeth) powder mixed with honey. Then coat with Zhensha (Vermilion/Cinnabar). Wrap in silk floss and insert into the ear. Remove after one month, then take one dose of Liuwei Dihuang Wan. Deafness will not recur.
Deafness and Tinnitus
Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex), stir-fried with salt water until brown; Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), de-haired and soaked in wine; each at 4 liang. Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex) at 2 qian. Form pills with refined honey. Take 3 qian on an empty stomach with light salt water.
Deafness
One pair of dog auricular root bones, roasted on yin-yang tiles and ground. Dangmenzi (Musk) at 1 fen. Grind into fine powder. Apply a small amount into the tip of a scallion tube. Wrap the medicated end in silk floss and insert into the ear orifice. Hearing is restored once the scent of scallion is perceived in the nose.
Sudden Deafness and Ear Obstruction
Sulfur and Xionghuang (Realgar) in equal parts. Grind uniformly. Wrap in silk floss and insert into the ear. Hearing returns after several days.
Another Prescription
Drip turtle urine into the ear to restore hearing.
Another Prescription
Fifteen jujubes (pitted) and one hundred castor seeds (shelled). Pound together, extract the juice, and mix to form rod-shaped suppositories. Insert one suppository per use until warmth is felt in the ear. Replace daily. Cure within twenty days.
Tinnitus with Deafness
Songxiang (Colophony), 5 qian, melted; Badou (Crotonis Fructus), 20 seeds, shelled. Grind uniformly. Form pills the size of lotus seeds using scallion juice. Wrap in silk floss. For right-sided deafness, plug the left ear; for left-sided deafness, plug the right ear. If both ears are deaf, alternate plugging. Replace daily. Effect is miraculous. (Another variant adds Jiaomu (Zanthoxyli Semen)).
Another Prescription
Chuan Huangbai (Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex), peeled, 8 liang, mixed with milk and sun-dried, then stir-fried with salt water until brown. Grind into fine powder. Mix with water to form pills the size of sophora seeds. Take 100 pills at a time on an empty stomach with salt water.
For bilateral deafness due to qi pathway obstruction: Shape Gansui (Euphorbiae Radix) into the size of a jujube pit, wrap in silk floss, and insert into the ear. Simultaneously hold Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix) in the mouth and swallow the juice several times. The ear will clear.
Deafness by Shen Siming
Baijili (Tribuli Fructus), stir-fried, pounded, thorns removed, ground into powder, and formed into pills with honey. Take 3 qian on an empty stomach with plain boiled water.
Acupuncture/Moxibustion Method for Deafness
Take a piece of Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), 7 cun long. Flatten one end and sharpen the other. Insert the sharp end into the ear. Place a moxa cone the size of a chopstick head on the flat end and moxibustion. For mild cases, seven cones; for severe cases, double that number. Effectiveness is indicated by a sensation of heat in the ear.
To treat ten-year deafness due to Kidney deficiency: Two doses can cure. Take 49 small scorpions and 49 slices of ginger (same size as scorpions). Stir-fry together until the ginger is dry. Discard the ginger and grind the scorpions into powder. Take with warm wine. Administer another dose during the first or second watch (nighttime). Intoxication is permissible. The next day, if a sound like a reed pipe is heard in the ear, it is effective. Alternatively, use detoxified whole scorpions alone, ground into powder and taken with wine, which is also effective.
Deafness
Plug both ears with raw white scallion stalks. Change frequently.
Another Prescription
Drip raw sesame oil into the ear 3–5 times daily. Healing occurs when discharge exits the ear.
When all medicines fail for deafness:
Sit quietly, hold one breath, and pinch the nose. If done morning and evening, qi circulation will open up within one month, restoring hearing.
Another Prescription by Ye Tianshi
Sheng Gancao (Raw Glycyrrhizae Radix) at 3 fen; Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Niubangzi (Arctii Fructus), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Lingyangjiao (Saigae Tataricae Cornu), Kudingcha (Ilicis Kudingchae Folium - from Guangxi, stems like lotus stems with fibers), Huashi (Talcum, levigated) each at 1 qian; Gan He'ye (Dried Lotus Leaf, heart removed, edges only, from the current year) at 2 qian. Decoct in water and take after meals.
Guben Cong'er Wan (Root-Firming Ear-Clearing Pill)
Treats various deficiency-type deafness due to Heart and Kidney insufficiency.
Shudi (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata), baked, 4 liang; Baiziren (Biota Seed), baked and de-oiled; Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), baked; Bai Fushen (Poria with Hostwood, mixed with human milk); Yuanzhi (Polygalae Radix), processed with Licorice; each at 1 liang. Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus) at 7 qian. Shanyao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma), stir-fried until yellow, 2 liang. Shichangpu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma), mixed with honey and wine, baked, 5 qian.
Grind into powder and form pills with honey. Take 3 qian each in the morning and evening before meals with plain boiled water.
Tongqi San (Qi-Unblocking Powder)
Treats sudden deafness and swelling due to anger-induced qi stagnation.
Huixiang (Foeniculi Fructus), Shichangpu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Yanhusuo (Corydalis Rhizoma), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Guangmuxiang (Agastachis Herba) each at 1 qian; Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Bai Jiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Chantui (Cicadae Periostracum) each at 5 qian; Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) at 1.5 qian; Chuanshanjia (Manis Squama) at 2 qian.
Grind into powder. Take 2 qian mixed with wine.
Deafness
Use green hemp tightly bound as a pillow. Prolonged sleep will naturally restore hearing.
Another Prescription
Place a live turtle inside a rattan or bamboo pillow and sleep on it at night. Prolonged use will restore hearing.
