The *Yizong Xinfa* (Medical Master's Heart Methods) states: The condition originally known as "Rouci" (Fleshy Spur), commonly called Jiyan (Corn/Clavus), grows on the toes, resembling a chicken's eye. Its root is sunken into the flesh, while the top protrudes hard and causes pain, making walking difficult. This arises from foot-binding or running in narrow shoes that cause compression; all these factors can lead to its formation. It is advisable to apply Jiawei Taiyi Gao (Modified Great Emperor Ointment) to moisten the area, or crush Ziyuzan Gen (Rhizoma Tricyrtidis) and apply it covered with oiled paper. Alternatively, mixing equal parts of Digupi (Cortex Lycii) and Honghua (Flos Carthami) into fine powder and applying it with sesame oil are also effective. (From *Yizong Jinjian*)
Ziyuzan Gao (Ziyuzan Ointment)
Wubeizi (Galla Chinensis, 1 liang)
Ziyuzan Ye (Folium Tricyrtidis, 20 leaves)
Ruxiang (Olibanum, 3 qian)
Moyao (Myrrha, 3 qian)
Hetun Yanjing (Eyes of Tetraodontiformes, 30 pieces)
Xuejie (Sanguis Draconis, 2 qian)
Ercha (Katechu, 2 qian)
Zhen Zhimayou (True Sesame Oil, 0.5 jin)
Dongdan (Lithargyrum, 4 liang)
First, decoct the herbs together with the oil until charred. Then add Ruxiang, Moyao, Ercha, and Xuejie until fully melted, filter clear, return to the pot, boil, and slowly add Dongdan. Apply when the consistency is appropriate.
Another prescription: One centipede, ground into fine powder. Use a small amount, covered with an ointment patch.
Jiyan Gao (Corn Ointment)
Use fresh Baiguo (Semen Ginkgo) outer green skin, any quantity, crushed. Decoct with Tongyou (Tung Oil) until charred, remove dregs. Stop when drops form beads in water without dispersing. Add a small amount of Xionghuang (Realgar), mix well, and store. First, soften the corn with hot water, apply for one fushi (approx. 2 hours), then remove; red filaments will be extracted.
Another prescription:
One centipede
Zicao (Radix Arnebiae/Lithospermi, 3 qian)
Decoct 1 liang of Mahua (Hemp Seed Oil) until herbs are charred, remove dregs. Pour into a clean pot, add Kufan (Calcined Alum, 1 qian) and Dongdan (Lithargyrum, 1 qian).
