The fetus is steamed by blood-heat in the womb; after birth, it inevitably encounters cool wind. Red spots like millet grains appear all over the body; this is named Saozhen (itching rash), requiring no further discussion.
[Note] Saozhen refers to the condition where the infant has been long steamed by the heat of the mother's blood during gestation, and upon birth, external exposure to cool wind causes red spots all over the body, resembling millet grains. Those appearing within one month are called Lanyi Chuang (rotten garment sore); those appearing within one hundred days are also known as Baitian Chuang (hundred-day sore); those appearing before the eruption of smallpox are simply named Saozhen. With careful nursing, it heals spontaneously without treatment.
Rash following smallpox is due to the transmission of smallpox pathogens, with residual toxins remaining and complicated by food stagnation and cold. The whole body itches like cloud patches; taking Jiawei Xiaodu Yin (Modified Detoxification Decoction) brings immediate relief.
[Note] Gaidouzhen refers to the situation where rashes erupt immediately after smallpox has just healed. This occurs because residual toxins from smallpox are not yet cleared, combined with excessive diet and external contraction of wind-cold, leading to rashes all over the body that are red and itchy, starting like millet grains and gradually forming cloud-like patches. It is suitable to use Jiawei Xiaodu Yin (Modified Detoxification Decoction) to disperse wind and clear heat, after which the rash will heal.

Heart fire scorches Lung metal, compounded by wind-damp toxicity; faint rash points emerge on the skin. Use Qianghuo San to disperse wind and dampness, followed by Xiaodu Yin to completely eliminate residual heat.
[Note] Yinzhen (urticaria/hive) is caused by heart fire scorching lung metal, combined with external contraction of wind-dampness. It must itch significantly, appears red, and lies faintly within the skin, hence named Yinzhen. First, use Jiajian Qianghuo San (Modified Qianghuo Powder) to disperse wind and dampness; subsequently, use Jiawei Xiaodu Yin (Modified Detoxification Decoction) to clear heat and detoxify. When the exterior and interior are purified, the rash heals.
