寿星说：人生育子嗣，虽说关乎天命，难道完全没有人为因素吗？有男子不能生育的，有六种病症。哪六种呢？一是精气衰败，二是精子稀少。女子不能生育的，有十种病症。一是子宫寒冷；二是脾胃虚寒；三是带脉拘急；四是肝气郁结；五是痰湿盛重；六是胞宫寒冷；七是子宫闭塞；八是气血虚弱；九是相火妄动；十是情志抑郁。
张果老说：男女的疾病，各有不同，找到病因，使用恰当的方剂，还担心没有孩子吗？
常规治法：气虚的，用六君子汤、四君子汤；血虚的，用四物汤；肾虚无火的，用八味汤（即金匮肾气丸）；肾虚有火的，用知柏地黄丸。
奇特治法：一味药就能成功，不必借助两味药。比如催吐，只用瓜蒂一味就够了，不必再添其他药物，反而会被牵制。

There are men who cannot father children, suffering from six diseases. What are these six? One is Essence Decline; Two is Sperm Scarcity. There are women who cannot bear children, suffering from ten diseases. One is Cold Womb; Two is Spleen-Stomach Cold; Three is Constricted Dai Mai (Girdle Vessel); Four is Liver Qi Stagnation; Five is Phlegm-Damp Excess; Six is Cold Uterus; Seven is Uterine Obstruction; Eight is Qi and Blood Deficiency; Nine is Hyperactive Ministerial Fire; Ten is Emotional Depression.
