Effective for treating Ding sores (hard, deep-rooted boils), and also treats various malignant ulcers and back carbuncles.
Hai Ma (Sea Horse) (one pair, roasted), Chuan Shan Jia (Pangolin Scales) (stir-fried with yellow earth), Shui Yin (Mercury), Zhu Sha (Cinnabar) (each 2 qian), Xiong Huang (Realgar) (3 qian), Qing Fen (Calomel) (1 qian), Nao Zi (Borneol) (a small amount), She Xiang (Musk) (a small amount).
Grind all the above ingredients into fine powder except for Mercury. Mix with Mercury and continue grinding until no mercury stars are visible. Prick the sore with a needle, apply the medicine inside, once a day. It has miraculous efficacy.
The symptoms of internal Ding sores are the same as external ones, presenting with alternating chills and fever, headache, and body pain, but the sore shape is not apparent. After several days, chills and fever appear in the chest, back, abdomen, hypochondrium, head, face, and hands. Although there is no swelling yet, if abdominal pain is severe, it must be diagnosed as an internal Ding syndrome. Use the following method for treatment; do not delay. Take one pill of Chan Su (Toad Venom); for severe cases, use two pills. Place on the patient's tongue to dissolve slowly. After complete dissolution, wait a while, then gargle and swallow well water (morning well water). Subsequently, take seven pills of Xiong Huang Wan (Realgar Pill) with cold tea. Once the bowels move several times, the illness will heal rapidly.
When preparing Chan Su (Toad Venom) for treating internal Ding sores: at the time of collection, place Chan Su on a mulberry leaf sized like a copper coin, knead and mix evenly, roll into pills the size of prayer beads, and dry in the shade.
Hemorrhoids occur in both rich and poor, men and women. The rich suffer from alcohol consumption, sexual indulgence, greed, and anger. The poor suffer from carrying heavy loads and exposure to wind and cold dew early in the morning. These conditions stem from blood disorders in the Heart and Liver, where emotional fluctuations cause Qi and Blood to clash. Women may suffer from cold invasion after menstruation or wind strike during menstruation, causing residual blood to stagnate in the Heart and menstrual blood to flow into the Large Intestine. Children may suffer from heat accumulation in the womb or after diarrhea. The treatments are as follows.
Protect the surrounding flesh.
Yu Jin (Curcuma Aromatica Rhizome), Bai Ji (Bletilla Rhizome) (each 1 liang. Another formula adds Huang Lian).
Grind the above two herbs into fine powder. When internal hemorrhoids prolapse outside during defecation, wash clean with warm water. Do not sit in the bath; exit the toilet immediately and lie on the bed. Cover the area with new paper. Dip a brush in warm water, paint it on the paper, then apply Shui Cheng Gao (Water-Clear Ointment) on the paper to prevent the medicine from spreading. As soon as the medicine feels dry, moisten it again with warm water, then apply the cauterizing medicine.
High-quality Bai Fan (Alum) (4 liang), Sheng Xin Shi (Arsenolite) (2.5 qian), Zhu Sha (Cinnabar) (1 qian, raw and ground extremely fine).
Grind each ingredient into fine powder. First, place Arsenic (Pi) in a Jian ware cup. Then cover it with Bai Fan powder. Apply fire until the smoke ceases. At this point, the Arsenic volatilizes completely with the smoke, leaving only the "Qi" (vapor/essence) of the Arsenic. Dilute the powder appropriately. Use the tip of a hair comb to smear the medicine around the entire hemorrhoid, three times a day. Observe carefully; the ideal result is when the hemorrhoid head turns scorched black. In the evening, yellow fluid will discharge; do not doubt this. The process is optimal when the fluid stops. Apply medicine again at midnight. The next day, apply medicine three times again. Mild pain is acceptable. When changing the dressing, hold a bowl of fresh water or warm water near the hemorrhoid. Use a brush tube to gently rinse the old medicine off the hemorrhoid, apply the new medicine, and still use the protective paste. This medicine relies on the properties of Arsenic and Xin Shi, while Zhu Sha slightly detoxifies the Arsenic. Afterwards, wash with Jingjie Decoction (Schizonepeta Decoction). After two or three days, when the yellow fluid is almost gone, increase the amount of Zhu Sha and decrease the Bai Fan in the mixture to缓 (slow down/milden) the medicinal strength. Adjustments can be made every two or three days, gradually achieving the desired effect. This prevents alarming the patient. Success depends entirely on the practitioner observing the color changes of the hemorrhoid head to adjust the concentration and thickness of the application. This is the flexible approach.
