Postpartum panting and shortness of breath, if there is no cold pathogen in the Lung but only panting and shortness of breath are observed, this is due to blood loss causing Yin deficiency, with lone Yang having no master (anchor), thus Qi becomes exhausted and short. This indicates Liver and Kidney depletion, with the Yuan Sea (root of Qi) lacking a foundation, representing a sign of collapse; it is an extremely critical condition, suitable for Zhenyuan Yin (True Origin Decoction). If Qi deficiency is accompanied by cold, Dabu Yuanyin (Great Tonification of the Original Source Decoction) is suitable. If there is external contraction of Wind-Cold, with pathogenic factors entering the Lung causing panting and shortness of breath, this must be accompanied by coarse breathing, chest distension, or frequent coughing. Treatment should involve dispersing and supplementing simultaneously, suitable for Liujunzi Tang (Six Gentlemen Decoction). If Cold pathogen enters the Lung, causing Qi excess and stagnation, while the body originally has no deficiency, Liu'an Jian (Six Comforts Infusion) is suitable.
Zhenyuan Yin (True Origin Decoction)
Shu Dihuang (Prepared Rehmannia Root, 7-8 qian) Zhi Gancao (Honey-fried Licorice Root, 1-2 qian) Danggui (Angelica Sinensis, 2-3 qian)
Decoct in water and take warm.
If accompanied by vomiting and nausea, or aversion to cold, add Wei Jiang (Baked Ginger, 3-5 slices); if Qi deficiency and pulse are extremely faint, add Renshen (Ginseng Root, 1-2 qian); if Liver and Kidney Yin deficiency with cold extremities, add Rougui (Cinnamon Bark, 1 qian).
Dabu Yuanyin (Great Tonification of the Original Source Decoction)

Gouqi (Goji Berry, 2-3 qian) Zhi Gancao (Honey-fried Licorice Root, 1-2 qian)
Decoct in water and take warm.
If Yuan Yang is insufficient with much cold, add Rougui (Cinnamon Bark), Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root), Paojiang (Baked Ginger), etc.; if Qi aspect is particularly deficient, add Huangqi (Astragalus Root), Baizhu (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome, both honey-fried); if Blood stagnation, add Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome), remove Shanzhuyu (do not use); if slippery discharge/diarrhea, add Wuweizi (Schisandra Fruit), Pogostemon Cablin (Pogostemon Patchouli Leaf/Rhizome, often referred to as Puguzhi in older texts, here likely Pogostemon or similar aromatic seed/herb contextually treated as warming/astringent, strictly "Poguzhi" usually refers to *Aucklandiae Radix* or *Psoraleae Fructus* depending on era, WHO standard for 破故纸 is Psoraleae Fructus (Psoralea Fruit)), etc.
