Wen Bing. Described as extending the arm and raising it. Zhezhong states: Sanhail (SI8) is three cun posterior to this point. Jiquan (HT1) [Ji Quan (Shoulder Spring), HT1]: Located in the arterial pulse between the tendons under the armpit, entering the chest cavity. [Jia Yi]. On the medial aspect of the arm. [Sheng Ji]. According to Qian Jin, "chest" should be "bone"; this is a textual error. Qian Jin Yi, Wai Tai, Wu Wenbing omit the character "middle". Ru Men, Yi Tong, Bao Jian read "middle" as "place". Zhezhong states: The point is located in the center of the armpit, within the pubic hair. It is confirmed upon finding it. Hand Yangming Large Intestine channel and arm, totaling twenty-eight acupoints. Shangyang (LI1) [Shang Yang (Upper Yang), LI1]: Also known as Jueyang (JIA YI). Located on the radial side of the nail of the index finger, one radish-leaf width from the corner. [Su Wen]. It is the Jing-well point. [Ling Shu]. On the medial side [JIA YI]. At the corner of the nail [Qian Jin]. Moxibustion is contraindicated. [Ru Men]. Note: Da Zhi Ci Zhi (the second finger, i.e., index finger) is referred to as Shi Zhi (index finger) in Lei Jing and Jin Jian; Yan Zhi (salt finger) in Ru Men and Da Quan. There is no difference in meaning. Same below. Erjian (LI2) [Er Jian (Two Spaces), LI2]: Also known as Jiang Gu. [JIA YI]. Two spaces anterior to the proximal interphalangeal joint. It is the Ying-spring point. [Ling Shu]. In the depression on the radial side. [JIA YI]. Note: "Anterior to the proximal joint" refers to anterior to the proximal joint of the index finger. It is abbreviated due to the preceding text. Same for Sanjian. Ju Ying and Wu Wenbing refer to it as the index finger. Description of Sanjian. Sanjian (LI3) [San Jian (Three Spaces), LI3]: Also known as Shao Gu. [JIA YI]. Posterior to the proximal joint. Three spaces constitute the Shu-stream point. [Ling Shu]. In the depression on the radial side. [JIA YI]. Note: Sheng Ji reads "medial edge side". Qian Jin Yi, Malaria Disease Chapter states: One cun below the second phalanx of the thumb at the web margin. Hegu (LI4) [Hegu (Valley Between Thumbs), LI4]: Also known as Hukou (Tiger's Mouth) [JIA YI]. Between the divergent bones of the thumb and index finger. It is the Yuan-source point. [Ling Shu]. Between the thumb and index finger. [JIA YI]. In the depression between the two bones at the tiger's mouth of the thumb. [Qian Jin]. Needling is contraindicated during pregnancy. [Sheng Ji]. Note: The divergent bones refer to the bones between the thumb and index finger. Ming Tang describes it as "in the gap between the two bones, in the hollow." No difference in meaning. Qian Jin Yi states: Posterior to the tiger's mouth, extend vertically, take the point standing upright, in the hollow at the head of the longitudinal crease. This does not reach the divergent bones, so this description is not adopted. Contraindication for pregnant women needling is based on the story of Xu Wenbo, discussed under Sanyinjiao (SP6). Yangxi (LI5) [Yang Xi (Yang Stream), LI5]: Also known as Zhong Kui. [JIA YI]. In the depression between the two tendons. It is the Jing-river point. [Ling Shu]. On the lateral side of the wrist center. [JIA YI]. Extend the thumb and index finger. Note: Regarding "tendons", JIA YI reads "side," which is incorrect. "Wrist center" means the center of the wrist bone. Shi Si Jing Chao reads "below the Guan bone," which is incorrect. Zi Sheng states: Master Xin suffered from Typhoid fever. After recovery, he ate green plums, and subsequently suffered severe toothache. A Daoist practitioner moxa-ed him by flexing the base of the thumb to find the depression posterior to the proximal joint, applying three moxa cones. Initially, itching was felt at the site; upon the second application, a sound was heard in the teeth; after three cones, the pain ceased. It has been twenty years since then. This is likely Yangxi (LI5). Currently, treating dental caries pain, Hegu (LI4) shows remarkable efficacy. Its Pianli (TE5) [Pian Li (Side Passage), TE5]: Three cun from the wrist. Branches into the Taiyin channel. [Ling Shu]. In the depression. [Ming Tang]. On the upper/lateral side. [Zeng Zhu]. Note: "From the wrist" in JIA YI and subsequent books reads "posterior to the wrist," with the same meaning. "Branches into" in JIA YI reads "branches to walk." Sheng Ji, Ju Ying, Fa Hui, Bao... Wenliu (TE4) [Wen Liu (Warm Flow), TE4]: Also known as Ni Zhu (Reverse Injection) and She Tou (Snake Head) [JIA YI]. Six cun posterior to the wrist [JIA YI]. In the pulsating artery. [Ming Tang]. From Pianli (TE5), ascending. Note: "Liu" in Qian Jin, Qian Jin Yi, Ming Tang, Bao Jian reads "Liu" (Stay). They were interchangeable in ancient times. Ru Men reads "Liu" (Flow). Zi Sheng, Wu Wenbing, Yi Tong read "She" (Snake) as "Chi" (Pool). Da Quan reads "Di" (Earth). Ju Ying reads "Tuo," which is a textual error. JIA YI records "Lesser Scholar five cun, Greater Scholar six cun." Qian Jin, Wai Tai, and subsequent books follow this. Generally, measurements are based on individual folding proportions. Why single out this point to distinguish by Greater/Lesser Scholars? Thus, it is not adopted. Ming Tang reads "between five and six cun," also not adopted. Xu Shi Ge reads "five cun posterior to the wrist," which is incorrect. Tong Ren and Da Xian's An Yi Men Zhai Yao read "Lesser Scholar six cun, Greater Scholar five cun," which is misplaced. Xia Lian (TE6) [Xia Lian (Lower Edge), TE6]: Below the Fu bone (radius/ulna), one cun distal to Shanglian, aligned with the Fu bone. Diverging meat separates the pathogenic factor. [JIA YI]. Four cun distal to Quchi (LI11). [Lei Jing]. Note: Ru Men and Da Quan read "five cun anterior to Quchi," which is incorrect. "Below the Fu bone" means anterior to the Fu bone. "Yu" (and/with) was formerly "Kong" (fear), likely a textual error, corrected to "Yu." Qian Jin omits the nine characters "Yu Fu..." "Xie" (pathogen) means "Xie" (slant/diagonal). "Qi Fen" (its division) refers to "Fen Rou" (intermuscular space). Wai Tai, Zi Sheng, Sheng Ji, and subsequent books omit "Yu Qi" (aligned with). "Xie" in Wai Tai, Lei Jing, Ru Men reads "Xie" (slant). Zi Sheng reads "Zhen" (needle). Ju Ying, Wu Wenbing, Da Cheng citing Tong Ren read "Xie Zhen" (diagonal needle). Shanglian (TE7) [Shang Lian (Upper Edge), TE7]: One cun distal to Sanli. Its division reaches the meeting of the Yangming channel. Externally slanting. [JIA YI]. Three cun distal to Quchi (LI11). [Lei Jing]. Note: "Meeting of Yangming" was formerly "Meeting of Yang." Wai Tai etc. have the character "Ming," added now. Zi Sheng reads "Its division alone reaches the meeting of Yangming." Externally slanting. Sheng Ji, Yi Gang omit "Zhen" (needle). Yi Tong omits "Xie Zhen" (slanting needle). Qian Jin omits eight characters from "Qi Fen..." Ru Men, Da Quan read "Quchi..." Shousanli (LI10) [Shou Sanli (Hand Triple Li), LI10]: Two cun distal to Quchi (LI11). Flesh rises when pressed. At the end of the divergent meat. [JIA YI]. Note: Ming Tang, Ju Ying read "Sanli," also named Shousanli. Da Cheng, Wu Wenbing followed this, which is incorrect. Zi Sheng, Shen Ying, Ru Men, Da Quan... Three cun distal to Quchi is Shanglian (TE7), cannot be followed. Now following JIA YI, taking the end of the sharp meat is acceptable. Zhezhong states: Also named Gui Xie (Ghost Evil). Not Gui Xie; that is Zusanli (ST36). Quchi (LI11) [Quchi (Pool at Curve), LI11]: Also known as Guichen (Ghost Minister) [Qian Jin] and Yangze (Yang Marsh) [Qian Yi]. In the depression lateral to the epicondyle of the humerus. Obtained by flexing the arm. It is the He-sea point. [Ling Shu]. In the elbow bone. Take by pressing the hand against the chest. [JIA YI]. Between the two bones when flexing the elbow (Secondary Note). At the place where the arm connects. [Benshi]. Note: Qian Jin Yi, Small Intestine Chapter states: Yangze, also known as Guichen. Now moved to "Also known as." Pressing chest. Secondary note. Zi Sheng and subsequent books read "Gong" (arch). Jin states: Behind the elbow, turning to flex the rib and curved bone. "Zhuan" (turn) is an error for "Fu" (assist). "Lei" (rib) is an error for "Zhou" (elbow). Zi Sheng reads "Flex elbow, curve middle," likely missing characters. Two bones. Wai Tai, Sheng Ji, Ming Tang, Fa Hui read "Qu Gu" (curved bone). This point should be taken by flexing the elbow to press between the two curved bones. Qian Jin, Various Wind Chapters read "two elbows outer head." People mostly follow Ming Tang, Benshi Fang, Ru Men, etc., taking the transverse crease head, which is incorrect. [Benshi Fang states: At the place where the arm connects, arch the hand against the chest...] Zhou (LI12) [Zhou (Elbow), LI12]: Also known as Zhoujian (Elbow Tip) [Waike Shuyao]. On the lateral edge of the large bone of the elbow, in the depression. [JIA YI]. Parallel to Tianjing (SJ10), one cun four fen apart. [Lei Jing]. Near the large tendon. [Ru Men]. Lateral to Quchi (LI11), slightly posterior, separated by bone, in the depression. [Zeng Zhu]. Wuli (SI13) [Wu Li (Five Li), SI13]: Also known as Chi Zhi Wuli (Chi Five Li) [Ling Shu]. Five cun below Tianfu (LU3). [Su Wen]. Three cun above the elbow, in the center of the large vessel running inward. [JIA... Note: "Xiang" (towards) in Qian Jin and Yi Fang reads "Ma" (horse), an error. "Mai" (vessel) in Ru Men reads "Jin" (tendon). Bi'ao (SI14) [Bi'ao (Arm Guard), SI14]: Also known as Toutong (Head Rush) [Qian Jin] and Jingchong (Neck Rush) [Qian Yi]. Seven cun above the elbow. At the end of the ... meat. [JIA YI]. One fu below the shoulder ... Two tendons, two bones gap depression, in the hollow. Taking it with flat hand fails; grasp the hand tightly to close the point. [Zi Sheng]. Needling is contraindicated. [Zi Sheng]. Note: "Seven cun" was formerly "seven fen." ... was formerly .... All are transcription errors. Corrected according to Qian Jin, Wai Tai, etc. "One fu" in Tong Ren Tu reads "three," which is correct. However, do not change arbitrarily. Qian Jin states: Toutong is found by extending both hands straight forward, letting the arm touch the head, facing the nose where it focuses. Moxa each according to age. Qian Jin Yi states: Also named Bi'ao. Also note: Qian Jin Yi "Shen Liang" reads "Liang Shen." Note reads "Li." Wai Tai reads "Zhu." This method may lead to errors, so it is not adopted. Hand Shaoyang Sanjiao channel and arm, totaling twenty-four acupoints. Guanchong (TE1) [Guanchong (Channel Pass), TE1]: At the tip of the ring finger. It is the Jing-well point. [Ling Shu]. On the nail, one radish-leaf width from the corner. [Su Wen]. Where the nail meets the flesh. [Ling Shu]. At the corner of the nail. [JIA YI]. Posterior to the nail of the ring finger. [Qian Yi]. Moxibustion is contraindicated. [Zhen Quan]. Note: Ru Men reads "fourth finger" for "small finger next finger." Zi Sheng says: Take by making a fist. Miao Ci Lun states: On the nail of the middle finger's next finger, one radish-leaf width from the corner. Wang Bing states: Refers to Guanchong point. New Correction states: According to JIA YI Jing, Guanchong point is at the tip of the small finger's next finger. Saying "middle finger" here is incorrect. Yemen (TE2) [Yemen (Fluid Gate), TE2]: Between the ring and little fingers. It is the Ying-spring point. [Ling Shu]. In the depression. [JIA YI]. Depression anterior to the proximal joint. [Ru Men]. Note: "Ye" (fluid) in JIA YI, Qian Jin Yi, Wai Tai reads "Ye" (axilla). Qian Jin reads "Ye" (fold). Now following Ling Shu. Zi Sheng says: Take by making a fist. Zhongzhu (TE3) [Zhongzhu (Middle Pool), TE3]: In the depression posterior to the proximal joint. It is the Shu-stream point. [Ling Shu]. Take by grasping the palm. [Ru Men]. Note: "Posterior to the proximal joint" refers to between the ring and little fingers, posterior to the proximal joint. Due to preceding text, it is not repeated. Qian Jin, Wai Tai read "posterior to the proximal joint interval." Of. Qian Jin Yi reads "posterior to the proximal joint of the ring and little fingers." Likely "posterior" is redundant. Ju Ying, Bao Jian, Wu Wenbing, Yi Tong, Da Cheng read "one cun below Yemen," which is too rigid. Yangchi (TE4) [Yangchi (Yang Pool), TE4]: Also known as Bieyang (Separate Yang) [JIA YI]. Above the wrist, in the depression. It is the Yuan-source point. [Ling Shu]. On the dorsal side of the hand/wrist. [JIA YI]. Directly opposite the wrist center from the posterior bone of the proximal joint. [Lei Jing]. Slanting near the external malleolus area. [Zeng Zhu]. Moxibustion is contraindicated. [Zi Sheng, Sheng Ji]. Note: "Above the wrist" means above the wrist bone. "On the hand/wrist dorsal side." Qian Jin, Wai Tai omit "Shang" (above). Ru Men reads "in the depression of the transverse crease on the back of the palm," same meaning. Ju... Wu Wenbing, Da Cheng read "from the proximal joint directly feel down to the wrist center," which is incorrect. Su Wen states: Below the bundled bones of the palm, moxa it. Wang Bing states: Yangchi point. Wu Kun states: Yin ... point. Yi Xue Gang Mu states: Unclear if correct. Waiguan (TE5) [Waiguan (External Pass), TE5]: Two cun from the wrist. [Ling Shu]. In the depression, branching to the Heart Protector. [JIA YI]. Between the two tendons. [Lei Jing]. Opposite Neiguan (PC6). Note: "Xin Zhu" (Heart Protector) was formerly "Xin" (Heart), supplemented now based on various books. "Liang Jin" (two tendons) in Da Cheng, Jin Jian read "Liang Gu" (two bones). Ju Ying, Wu Wenbing read "one cun above Yangchi." Da Quan reads "one cun posterior to the wrist," which is incorrect. Zhigou (TE6) [Zhigou (Branch Ditch), TE6]: Also known as Feihu (Flying Tiger) [Lei Jing]. Three cun above the wrist. Between the two bones, in the depression. It is the Jing-river point. [Ling Shu]. On the lateral aspect of the arm. [Qian Jin]. Above Waiguan (TE5). [Zeng Zhu]. Note: Da Quan states: Feihu point is Tongmen point. Also states: This is Zhigou point. Place hand at tiger's mouth, fly middle finger to write at this spot, this is the point. "Tong" is "Zhang" (chapter), "Shu" is "Jin" (finish) error. And Zhangmen is not known as Feihu, likely a transcription error. Ru Men states: Three cun posterior to Yangchi, no difference in meaning. Huizong (TE7) [Huizong (Meeting Root), TE7]: Three cun posterior to the wrist. In the empty space. [JIA YI]. One cun lateral to Zhigou (TE6). [Ru Men]. Zhigou and Huizong are separated only by one tendon. Upper side of Zhigou, lateral side of Huizong. [Okamoto]. One says: Needling is contraindicated. [Lei Jing]. Note: "Kong Zhong" (in the empty space) refers to the space above the bone. Zi Sheng, Sheng Ji, Fa Hui, Wu Wenbing, Da Cheng read "one cun in the empty space," which is incorrect. Cheng Jing Tong states: Zhigou is in the depression between two bones three cun posterior to the wrist. Huizong is also in the empty space three cun posterior to the wrist. Posterior to the wrist, there is only the depression between two bones, no other empty space. One says: One cun in the empty space three cun posterior to the wrist, and Sanyangluo (TE8) is one cun above Zhigou, Huizong. Thus, it is not easy to locate. Wait for experts to correct. Jin Jian states: Zhigou and Huizong are parallel in the empty space, one cun apart. This is too rigid. Sanyangluo (TE8) [Sanyangluo (Three Yang Network), TE8]: Also known as Tongjian (Pass Interval) (Secondary Note). Empty space of the arm bone is on the Yang aspect of the arm, four cun from the ankle, between the empty spaces of the two bones. [Su Wen]. Large intersecting vessel on the arm. One cun above Zhigou (TE6). [JIA YI]. Four cun posterior to Yangchi (TE4). [Ru Men]. Needling is contraindicated. [JIA YI]. Note: "Luo" (network) in Qian Jin reads "Ge" (arm), incorrect. Ming Tang reads "five cun anterior to the elbow," which is Sidu (TE9) point. Tongjian. Ju Ying, Yi Tong, Wu Wenbing, Da Cheng... Sidu (TE9) [Sidu (Four Pools), TE9]: Five cun anterior to the elbow. On the lateral edge, in the depression. [JIA YI]. Three and a half cun above Sanyangluo (TE8). [Zeng Zhu]. Note: Bao Jian reads "six cun," which is incorrect. Tianjing (SJ10) [Tianjing (Heavenly Pool), SJ10]: Above the large bone lateral to the elbow, in the depression. It is the He-sea point. Obtained by flexing the elbow. [Ling Shu]. Between the two tendons posterior to the large bone. [JIA YI]. One cun posterior to flexing the elbow. Cross hands and press on knees to locate. Gap between two bones and tendons. [Zi Sheng, citing Zhen Quan]. Note: Qian Jin reads "large bone lateral to posterior elbow." Lei Jing reads "posterior to the tip of the large bone." Ju Ying reads "above the Fu bone." Two tendons, forked bone gap, take by flexing elbow and arching chest. Qinglengyuan (SI11) [Qing Lengyuan (Clear Cold Abyss), SI11]: Two cun above the elbow. Extend elbow, raise arm to locate. [Wai Tai, Zi Sheng]. Three cun above the elbow. [Qian Jin, Qian Yi]. One cun superior to Tianjing (SJ10). [Jin Jian]. Note: JIA YI reads "one cun above elbow," which is Tianjing point. "One" is likely a typo, thus not adopted. Qian Jin, Qian Jin Yi, Ru Men, Da Quan... Three cun. Wai Tai, Zi Sheng, Fa Hui, Sheng Ji, Lei Jing, Ju Ying, Bao Jian, Yi Tong, Wu Wenbing, Da Cheng read "two cun." Uncertain which is correct. Tentatively follow Wang Shi. Yuan. Qian Jin reads "Quan" (spring). Explanation already seen. Xiaoluo (SI12) [Xiaoluo (Eliminate Dampness), SI12]: Below shoulder, arm opens axilla, slants, descends along the division of the elbow. [JIA YI]. In the muscle belly like a snake head. [Okamoto]. Note: "Luo" in Da Quan reads "Li." Zhu Zheng Fa Wei reads "Shuo." Yi Xue Gang Mu reads "Shuo." "Fen" means "Fen Rou" (intermuscle). "Xia Xing" (descends) was formerly "Xia ..." a typo. Note: One version has no ... character. Ju Ying, Yi Tong, Wu Wenbing, Da Cheng omit "Xing" (descend). This point is in the open axilla. If slanting, it descends along the elbow muscle belly. Thus, now correcting according to Qian Jin, Wai Tai, secondary notes. "Kai" (open) in Fa Hui, Lei Jing, Ju Ying, Bao Jian reads "Jian" (between), which is incorrect. Hand Taiyang Small Intestine channel and arm, totaling sixteen acupoints. Shaoze (SI1) [Shaoze (Small Marsh), SI1]: Also known as Xiaoji (Little Auspicious) [JIA YI]. At the tip of the little finger. It is the Jing-well point. [Ling Shu]. One fen from the nail, in the depression. [JIA YI]. On the lateral side. [Qian Jin]. One radish-leaf width from the corner of the nail. [Ru Men]. Qian Gu (SI2) [Qian Gu (Front Valley), SI2]: Also known as Shou Taiyang (Hand Taiyang) [Qian Jin]. On the lateral aspect of the hand. Anterior to the proximal joint, in the depression. It is the Ying-spring point. [Ling Shu]. Lateral side of the little finger. [Note: "Proximal joint" refers to the proximal joint of the little finger, continuing from the previous text. Same below. Qian Jin states: If there is urgent heat bi in the heart region, internal heat in the small intestine, red and yellow urine, needle Hand Taiyang to treat Yang. Hand Taiyang is on the lateral side of the little finger, in the depression of the proximal joint. Now considered one name. Also seen in Extra Points section.] Houxi (SI3) [Houxi (Back Stream), SI3]: On the lateral side of the hand. Posterior to the proximal joint. It is the Shu-stream point. [Ling Shu]. In the depression. [JIA YI]. Below the protruding bone anterior to the wrist. [Ming Tang]. Above the tip of the transverse crease. [Da Quan]. Take by supinating the hand and making a fist. [Lei Jing]. Note: "Xi" (stream) in Ming Tang reads "Xi." Grasping the palm laterally, anterior to the wrist, posterior to the proximal joint, at the tip of the transverse crease, is correct. Wanggu (SI4) [Wanggu (Bone Valley), SI4]: On the lateral side of the hand. Anterior to the wrist bone. It is the Yuan-source point. [Ling Shu]. In the depression below the protruding bone. [JIA YI]. Note: Wanggu refers to the junction of palm and arm. Also called simply Wan (wrist). Wan Zhong (center of wrist) and Wan Shang (above wrist) all have the same meaning. This point is anterior to the wrist, named Wanggu because it is near the wrist. Similar to Jiwei being five cun below Jiwei, Henggu being one cun above Henggu. People often mistakenly take it anterior to the malleolus. To locate this point, first grasp the palm inward, using the lateral side of the little finger. Posterior to the proximal joint, at the end of the transverse crease, locate Houxi (SI3). Follow the bone upward. There is a small protruding bone anterior to the wrist; anterior to this is the Wanggu (SI4) point. Generally, "up/down" means towards the shoulder is up, towards the fingertips is down. Thus, Nei Jing uses "Shang Wan" (upper wrist) instead of "Qu Wan" (remove wrist). Also, Shanglian (TE7) is near the elbow, Xialian (TE6) is near the wrist; this distinguishes up/down. Generally, "front/back" means towards the fingertips is front, towards the shoulder is back, hence "posterior palm/wrist." Also, Qiangu (SI2) is anterior to the proximal joint, Houxi (SI3) is posterior to the proximal joint; this defines front/back. Folk doctors interpret "protruding bone" as the malleolus, without considering up/down/front/back characters, only taking it anterior to the malleolus on the upper side; hence the error. Ling Shu has the character "lateral side," how could it deceive me? Ru Men reads "posterior lateral palm, below high bone," guessing without knowledge, laughable. "Qi Gu" (protruding bone) in Sheng Ji reads "Rui Gu" (sharp bone). Yanggu (SI5) [Yanggu (Yang Valley), SI5]: Below the sharp bone, in the depression. It is the Jing-river point. [Ling Shu]. Lateral side of the hand, in the wrist center. [JIA YI]. Note: Rui Gu (sharp bone) explanation already seen. Can see... Upper side? Da Quan reads "lateral side of hand, below bone malleolus." Bone malleolus is likely misplaced, confusing Rui Gu with malleolus; cannot follow. Yanglao (SI2) [Yanglao (Nourish Old), SI2]: Hand Taiyang ... In an empty space above the ankle bone of the hand. One cun posterior to the wrist, in the depression. [JIA YI]. Note: "Kong" (empty) refers to the hole above the bone. Hence Nei Jing has "Gu Kong Lun" (Treatise on Bone Emptiness). Others include Daying, Gu Kong, Face ... Kong, or Fourth ... First Kong Second Kong, can be seen. Qian Jin, Yi Fang, Wai Tai read "ankle bone one empty, posterior one cun." "Zai" (at) is likely a typo for "Wan" (wrist). Fa Hui, Lei Jing, and subsequent books are same as JIA YI. Zi Sheng reads "ankle bone upper empty one cun," likely missing character. Ming Tang reads "Kong" as "Xue" (point), harmless. Wu Wenbing, Yi Tong, Ju Ying, Da Cheng read "Yun" (cloud), a typo. People take this point one cun above the malleolus, unaware that Qian Jin and Wai Tai have typos. One point loses its location, three points lose truth. Thus, sequentially palpate Houxi (SI3), Wanggu (SI4), Yanggu (SI5), going straight up along the lateral side. One cun posterior to the wrist, exactly lateral to the ankle bone, there is naturally an empty space. This is Yanglao (SI2). Then the nine characters "Wan Hou Yi Cun, Ai Gu Shang Yi Kong" (One cun posterior to wrist, one empty space above ankle bone) in JIA YI can be read. Ju Ying reads "anterior upper ankle bone," very fabricated. Nei Jing states: Hand Taiyang channel exits the ankle middle. This can also verify. Later reading Okamoto's work, entirely agrees with my explanation. Zhizheng (SI7) [Zhizheng (Branch Upright), SI7]: Five cun above the upper wrist. Internally connecting to Shaoyin. [Ling Shu]. Four cun from Yanglao (SI2), in the depression. [Ming Tang]. Lateral edge. [Lei Jing]. Note: JIA YI "Shang Wan" (upper wrist) reads "Zhou Hou" (posterior elbow); subsequent books follow. Zi Sheng "Shaoyin" reads "Shaoyang," which is incorrect. Xiaohai (SI8) [Xiaohai (Small Sea), SI8]: Outside the large bone of the inner elbow, half cun from the end, in the depression. Obtained by extending the arm. It is the He-sea point. [Ling Shu]. Moxibustion is contraindicated. [Zhen Quan]. Note: Jingjin Chapter states: Hand Taiyang tendon starts above the little finger, knots at the wrist, follows the arm internally, knots at the posterior of the sharp bone inside the elbow. Flicking it responds to the little finger. Zhang Jiebin states: Knots at the posterior of the sharp bone below the elbow, next to Xiaohai. Simply press the tendon in the gap between the two bones below the elbow tip; sourness and numbness respond to the top of the little finger; this is the verification. "Shen" (extend) in JIA YI reads "Qu" (flex). "Qu Duan" (from end) reads "Zhou Duan" (elbow end). Wai Tai cites Zhen Quan's saying: Take by flexing hand towards head. Lei Jing, Wu Wenbing, Da Cheng follow this. Ming Tang, Ju Ying, Yi Tong read "Shaohai," which is incorrect.
