(Between the anterior and posterior orifices, this is the division of the Huiyin acupoint)
It belongs to the collateral branch of the Ren Mai (Conception Vessel), serving as the convergence point where the Du Mai (Governing Vessel) and Chong Mai (Penetrating Vessel) meet. (*Su Wen* states: "The lower yin separates into one." The commentary notes: "Lower yin" refers to the Huiyin acupoint; it is the collateral branch of the Ren Mai and the meeting point of the Du Mai and Chong Mai, hence called "lower yin separates into one." It further states: "Pingyi lies between two tendons, in the deep interior of the crotch, which is the Shu point of Xiaji, the starting point of the Du Mai." It also states: "The collateral of the Du Mai follows the genitalia, converges at the crotch, and circles behind the crotch.")
(Referring to the lateral bone of the thigh) It belongs to the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian (*Ling Shu* states: "The sinews of the Foot-Shaoyang have a branch that arises separately from the lateral auxiliary bone and ascends to the thigh." It also states: "The meridian of the Foot-Shaoyang passes through the costal region, descends to converge in the hip joint, and follows down along the lateral aspect of the thigh.") [Anterior margin] belongs to the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian (*Ling Shu* states: "The sinews of the Foot-Yangming follow the Futu area and knot at the hip pivot; when diseased, they cause muscle twitching and swelling in the anterior thigh. *Su Wen* states: "If the stomach pulse is firm and long, and the complexion is red, the patient should suffer from broken hip disease.") [Posterior margin] belongs to the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian (*Ling Shu* states: "When the meridian of the Foot-Taiyang undergoes change, the disease manifests as an inability to flex the thigh.") It also relates to the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian (*Ling Shu* states: "The sinews of the Foot-Taiyin follow the medial thigh and knot at the thigh; when diseased, pain radiates from the medial thigh to the thigh. It also states: 'When the spleen has pathogenic factors, their qi remains in both thighs'.)
[Medial center of the thigh] (Referring to the inner aspect of the thigh) belongs to the Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian (*Ling Shu* states: "The meridian of the Foot-Jueyin ascends to the medial margin, follows the medial aspect of the thigh, and enters the pubic region.") [Anterior-medial margin] belongs to the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian [Posterior-medial margin] belongs to the Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian (*Ling Shu* states: "The meridian of the Foot-Taiyin follows behind the tibial bone, crosses out anterior to the Jueyin, and ascends to the anterior-medial margin of the knee and thigh. It also states: 'The meridian of the Foot-Shaoyin emerges from the medial malleolus, ascends along the posterior-medial margin of the thigh. Diseases generated include pain along the posterior-medial margin of the thigh.' It also states: 'Kidney distension presents with abdominal fullness, pulling sensation in the back, and lumbosacral bi-pain'.")
