Fangji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix) 1 liang, Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) 0.5 liang (stir-fried), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) 7 qian half, Huangqi (Astragali Radix) 1 liang 1 fen (remove the rhizome).
The above ingredients are cut into pieces the size of hemp seeds. Each time, take 5 qian bi, add 4 slices of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), 1 date (Dazao), and 1.5 cups of water. Decoct until 0.8 cup remains, remove the dregs, and take warm. Take again after a while. If panting is present, add Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba) 0.5 liang; if there is disharmony in the stomach, add Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) 3 fen; if there is a sensation of qi rushing upward, add Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus) 3 fen; if there is old cold below, add Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma) 3 fen.
Fangji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix) 3 liang, Huangqi (Astragali Radix) 3 liang, Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus) 3 liang, Fuling (Poria) 6 liang, Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) 2 liang.
Take the above five herbs, add 6 sheng of water, boil to obtain 2 sheng, divide into three warm doses.
Han Fangji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix) is an herb that enters the interior of the Taiyang channel (Taiyang Channel Disease). It vents the couli (pores/skin interstices), treats Fengshui (Wind-Water edema), and generally treats both Fengshi (Wind-Dampness) and Pishui (Skin-Water edema) syndromes. The *Jingui Yaolue* mentions that for those with sweating and aversion to wind, the response is as immediate as a drumstick hitting a drum; please note this.

This chapter discusses Baihe Bing (Lily Disease), stating that all vessels originate from one source. It is not only related to Yingwei (Nutritive and Defensive Qi), but also the six channels of the hands and feet can cause this disease. Sweating, vomiting, and purging are all inappropriate treatments.
This text involves each channel... six...
If it belongs solely to diseases of the Jueyin and Yangming channels, it is expected to heal in twenty days. Reading Chapter Four, for cases not yet treated with sweating, vomiting, or purging, treat with Baihe Dihuang Tang (Lily and Rehmannia Decoction). Once the illness is cured, do not continue taking it. Stool resembling lacquer indicates that heat pathogens have been discharged; further medication may cause transformation of symptoms. Differentiation is based on headache during urination. The key to all vessels lies in Shaoyin (Lesser Yin) and Taiyang (Greater Yang). Taiyang governs the qi of the six channels; its meridian ascends to the vertex and descends to connect with the water passages. If qi transformation fails, pathology arises below during urination and manifests as headache above. Shaoyin is the source of water generation; obstruction in opening and closing leads to a chilly sensation during urination. If mistaken sweating injures Taiyang, causing headache during urination, use Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) to nourish Lung Yin, so that the Bladder water storage knows the presence of maternal qi. Nourishing the Lung is equivalent to nourishing the Bladder; this is the method of treating Yang disease by saving Yin. If mistaken purging injures Shaoyin, causing a chilly sensation during urination, use Huashi (Talcum) to ascend and unblock... drain... yin...
Extending from these formulas, the principle does not exceed supplementing Yin and Yang. By citing this example, one can infer others; learners should attain understanding through their own efforts.
