Guiji Disease (Ghost Strike), characterized by sudden onset without gradual warning, feels as if being pierced by a forceful hand. There is twisting, urgent pain in the chest, hypochondrium, and abdomen, which cannot be tolerated or pressed upon. It may involve immediate hematemesis (vomiting blood), epistaxis (nosebleed), or lower gastrointestinal bleeding. This disease is also known as "Guipai" (Ghost Repulsion). The treatment formulas are as follows.
Moxibustion on the Renmai 26 (Renzhong) point located below the nose for one moxa cone will lead to immediate recovery. If not cured, add several more cones.
Another formula: Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Duhuo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), and Mugui (Cinnamomi Cortex/Mugui), used in equal proportions. Grind into powder, take one fangcunbi (a square-inch measure) with wine, leading to immediate recovery.
Another formula: Moxibustion on the point one cun below the umbilicus, two cones.
Another formula: Moxibustion on the point one cun above the umbilicus, seven cones, and at the junction of white flesh on both heels, until recovery.
Another formula: Take cooked Aiye (Artemisiae Argyi Folium) the size of a duck egg, three pieces. Add five sheng of water, boil down to two sheng, and consume in one dose.
Another formula: One sheng of salt, two sheng of water. Mix and stir, then drink. Also spray the body with cold water. Do not allow immediate vomiting; after a short while, once vomiting occurs, the patient recovers.
Another formula: Take a pinch of fen (rice powder/flour), dissolve it in water by stirring. Drink it.
Another formula: Blow pure Jiu (wine/alcohol) into both nostrils.
Another formula: Slaughter a white dog, collect one sheng of hot dog blood. Have the patient drink it.
Another formula: Cut chicken comb blood and drip it into the mouth, allowing one swallow. Then break this chicken, place its heart under the patient's xiaxin (epigastrium/cardiac area), wait until it cools, and discard it by the roadside. Using a black chicken is even better, which is miraculous.
Another formula: One sheng of Niusuishi (cow dung), three sheng of Jiu (wine/alcohol), boil and take. Dung from large cattle can also be used.
Another formula: Burn Daoqiao (knife sheath) to ash, grind into powder, and take with water.
Another formula: Burn Shusshi (rat feces) to powder and take orally. If the particles are too large like millet seeds to swallow, mix with a small amount of water and place in the mouth.
There are also various pills and powders recorded in the section on emergency medicines. Currently, shamans indeed claim to have seen people suddenly disturbed by ghosts and spirits, either offending their ranks, encountering collisions, having scattered and weak Shen (Spirit), or suffering from past transgressions. Mild cases may survive (or escape disaster), while severe cases often result in death. This is similar to the story of Yan Jian, not false; although death seems inevitable, it is not absolutely untreatable, and one must strive to save them.
Attached Formula
From *Gujin Luyan*, a formula for treating patients afflicted by Yao Mei (evil charms) or Mao Gui (cat ghost) who refuse to speak about the ghostly cause: Crush Lu Jiaoxie (Cornu Cervi Perforatum) into powder, take one fangcunbi with water, and the patient will reveal the truth (or regain consciousness/clarity).
