杨氏《产乳》，疗白秃疮及发中生癣。
取熊白，敷之。
又疗秃疮。
取虎膏，涂之。
《圣惠方》，治白秃。
以白鸽粪，捣，细罗为散。先以醋，米泔，洗了，敷之，立瘥。
又治头赤秃。
用白马蹄烧灰，末，以腊月猪脂和，敷之。
《简要济众》，治头疮。
大笋壳叶，烧为灰，量疮大小。用灰调生油敷，入少腻粉，佳。
将药材炒至黄色，用慢火炒制后，细细捣成粉末。每一斤药末，配合蒸过的茯苓半斤，用炼蜜制成丸剂。大小如梧桐子般，空腹时及睡前，用温热的熟水送服十五丸。另外取白术末六两、甘草末一两，拌和均匀，煮汤送服上述药丸，效果极佳。忌食桃、李、雀肉、蛤蜊以及“三白”（指白米、白面、白糖等白色食物）。
《千金方》记载，治疗头发脱落不再生长，使其重新长出。
用麻子一升，炒黑，压榨出油，涂抹于头部，可使头发茂盛，效果奇妙。
又方，治疗头发不生。
用羊屎灰，用水淋滤取汁液，用来洗头。每三天洗一次，不超过十次，头发即可再生。
又方，治疗眉毛、头发、胡须脱落。
取锻石三升，用水拌匀，用猛火炒至焦黑。装入绢袋中，用一斗好酒浸泡。密封，冬季十四天，春秋季七天，取出服用一合（容量单位），常使体内有酒气相连。严云说百日之后，新的胡须就会发生，不再脱落。
孙真人《食忌》中的生发方。

用醋煮黑豆，去掉豆子，煎煮至浓稠，涂抹于头发上。

用白蜜涂抹在毛孔中，长出的就是黑发。如果头发不生，取梧桐子捣汁涂抹，必定会长出黑发。
《千金翼方》治疗头发发黄。
用熊脂涂抹头发，梳理使之散开。头伸入床底，趴在地上约一顿饭的时间，然后出来。头发就会全黑，不超过一升熊脂，效果显著。
杨氏《产乳》，治疗白秃疮及头发中生癣。
取熊白（熊脂肪或特定部位），涂抹患处。
《圣惠方》，治疗白秃。
用白鸽粪，捣碎，细筛为散剂。先用醋、米泔水清洗患处，然后敷上药粉，立刻痊愈。
Stir-fry the medicinal materials over low heat until they turn yellow, then grind them finely into powder. For every jin (approx. 500g) of powder, mix with half a jin of steamed Poria cocos (Fuling, 茯苓). Form pills using refined honey, sized like paulownia seeds. Take fifteen pills on an empty stomach and before bed, swallowed with warm, boiled water. Additionally, take six liang of Atractylodes macrocephala powder (Baizhu, 白术) and one liang of Licorice root powder (Gancao, 甘草), mix evenly, and use the decoction to wash down the Baizhu pills; this is excellent. Avoid peaches, plums, sparrow meat, clams, and "Sanbai" (three whites: white rice, white flour, white sugar).
*Qianjin Fang* records a treatment for hair loss where hair fails to regrow, aiming to stimulate new growth.
Take one sheng of hemp seeds (Cannabis Fructus, 火麻仁), stir-fry until black, press out the oil, and apply it to the scalp to promote lush hair growth; this is miraculous.
Another prescription for treating lack of hair growth.
Use ash from sheep dung, leach it with water to obtain the juice, and use it to wash the head. Wash once every three days; within ten washes, hair will regenerate.
Another prescription for treating loss of eyebrows, scalp hair, and beard.
Take three sheng of calcined lime (Duan Shi, 锻石), mix evenly with water, and stir-fry over high heat until charred. Store in a silk bag and soak in one dou of good wine. Seal tightly; steep for fourteen days in winter or seven days in spring and autumn. Take one he (a unit of volume) when taken, ensuring a continuous sensation of alcohol in the body. Yan Yun stated that after one hundred days, new beard hair will grow and not fall out.
Sun Simiao's *Shi Ji* contains a hair-growth formula.
Take leaves of Platycladus orientalis (Ce Bai Ye, 侧柏叶), dry them in the shade, grind into powder, mix with oil, and apply.
Another prescription to darken temples and hair.
Boil black soybeans (Soybean, 大豆) in vinegar, remove the beans, boil the liquid until thick, and apply to the hair.
Another prescription for treating alopecia capitis.
Grind seeds of turnip (Wu Jing Zi, 芜菁子) into powder, mix with vinegar, and apply; do this three times daily.
*Mei Shi Fang* treats premature whitening of hair in young people and removing white hairs.
Apply white honey into the hair follicles; the new hair that grows will be black. If hair does not grow, crush seeds of Sapium sebiferum (Wutong Zi, 梧桐子), extract the juice, and apply; black hair will surely grow.
*Qianjin Yi* treats yellowing of hair.
Apply bear fat (Xiong Zhi, 熊脂) to the hair and comb it through to distribute. Insert the head under the bed, lie prone on the floor for about the time it takes to eat one meal, then emerge. The hair will become completely black; using no more than one sheng of fat proves effective.
Yang Shi's *Chan Ru* treats tinea capitis alba (white ringworm) and psoriasis-like lesions growing among the hair.
Apply bear fat (Xiong Bai, 熊白) to the affected area.
Another prescription for treating tinea capitis.
Apply tiger grease (Hu Gao, 虎膏) to the affected area.
*Sheng Hui Fang* treats tinea capitis alba.
Use white pigeon droppings, crush them, and sieve finely into a powder. First wash the area with vinegar and rice washing water, then apply the powder; healing occurs immediately.
Another prescription for treating erythematous tinea capitis.
Burn hooves of a white horse to ash, grind into powder, mix with lard rendered in the twelfth lunar month, and apply.
*Jian Yao Ji Zhong* treats scalp sores.
Burn large bamboo husk leaves to ash. According to the size of the sore, mix the ash with raw sesame oil for application; adding a small amount of lead carbonate (Ni Fen, 腻粉) is better.
