典藏书目

The *Taiyin Yangming Lun* states: For those whose diet is irregular and daily routine is untimely, the Yin aspect receives the pathogen. When the Yin receives it, the pathogen enters the Five Zang organs. Once inside the Five Zang organs, it causes fullness and obstruction, manifesting downward as undigested food diarrhea (Sunxie). If prolonged, it develops into Changpi (dysentery/intestinal bleeding). Changpi refers to a condition where food and blood separate into distinct streams, gushing out like water from a bucket.

Currently, it is the late summer season, where damp-heat is abundant. This is precisely when the "Guest Qi" (non-seasonal pathogens) is strong while the "Host Qi" (seasonal proper energy) is weak; thus, diseases of Changpi are severe. They should be primarily treated with Liangxue Dihuang Tang (Cool Blood Rehmannia Decoction).

Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex, peeled, cut, stir-fried), Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma, cut, stir-fried; each 1 qian above), Qingpi (Aurantii Fructus Pericarpium, skin and pith not removed), Huaizi (Sophorae Fructus, stir-fried), Shudihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix; each 5 fen above).

Crush the above ingredients into coarse powder. Combine all as one dose. Add one cup of water, decoct until three-sevenths remains, strain, and take warm.

If there is painful or difficult urination and oppression below the umbilicus, apply purgation. If the disease transforms, modify according to symptoms: If there is splashing fluid sound in the abdomen and irregular urination, this indicates retained fluids (Tingyin). Diagnose which Zang organ's pulse is prominent, and use drugs that drain fluid retention to purge it. For example, if the pulse is surging and large, use drugs that clear fire and promote urination. If stomach deficiency prevents eating and excessive thirst persists, do not use bland diuretic drugs to stop thirst, as this is due to insufficient Yuan Qi in the stomach; instead, administer Qiwei Baizhu San (Seven-Ingredient Atractylodes Macrocephala Powder) to tonify. If there is fever, aversion to heat, irritability, excessive thirst, hot skin desiring no clothing, a surging pulse that is empty upon deep pressure, or accompanied by eye pain and dry nose, this is not Baihu Tang (White Tiger Decoction) syndrome, but rather irritability caused by Blood deficiency. Use Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex) 1 liang and Dangguishen (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, root body) 2 qian, crush, decoct in water, and take. If there is fecal impaction, tenesmus, frequent visits to the toilet with inability to pass stool, or small amounts of white pus or blood, strictly avoid purgatives. Purgation will worsen the condition, causing further stagnation and blockage. Instead, use Shengyang Chushi Fangfeng Tang (Raise Yang Remove Dampness Saposhnikovia Decoction) to raise the Yang, so that Yin Qi will naturally descend.

Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, soaked in rice wash water, peeled, cleaned, 4 liang), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, 2 qian), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Baifuling (Poria, 1 qian each above), Baishaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, 1 qian above).

Crush the above ingredients into coarse powder. Except for Cangzhu, which is sliced separately, boil Cangzhu in one and a half cups of water until reduced to two large cups. Add the other herbs, decoct together until one large cup remains, strain, and take slightly warm on an empty stomach before meals.

If this syndrome presents as uncontrollable undigested food diarrhea, use this medicine to guide out the dampness. If undigested food diarrhea and ordinary diarrhea persist, use acrid-warm drugs to raise Yang; Cangzhu benefits the Stomach and removes dampness. If the pulse is excess, with distension and blockage, temporarily resort to bitter-dominant, sweet-minimal drugs to purge. Once unblocked, assist Yang again with Shengyang Tang (Raise Yang Decoction), or directly add purgative drugs to Shengyang Tang.
