Treatment for chronic, non-healing sores both inside and outside the body.
Binglang (Arecae Semen, half liang) Gan Zhusui (Dried Pig Feces, calcined to retain its nature, half liang) Longgu (Fossilized Bones, one fen) Shuiyinfen (Calomel, a small amount)
The above three ingredients are ground into a fine powder. Add Calomel and grind evenly. First wash the sore with salt water decoction, dry with cooked silk cloth, mix the medicine paste with raw oil to a paste-like consistency, apply to the sore, change every three days. After three to five changes, it will heal. Avoid scaleless fish and hot noodles. Sores on the inner and outer sides of the lower legs are commonly referred to as "Li" sores by people. External sores are the most difficult to heal. This prescription, along with the previous prescription for Intestinal Qi disorder, originated from Wu Mei, a soldier from Jian'an, who was sentenced to death for violating imperial seals. Wang Bingzhi, the official managing military affairs, pitied his understanding nature and often showed him care and compassion. Before execution, weeping, Wu Mei said: "In my life, I had two prescriptions that worked like magic for treating diseases, which I usually sold to support myself. It is a pity that they will die without being passed down." He then presented them to Wang Bingzhi. They were effective upon repeated use. I sought them from Wang Bingzhi, but he was away on a distant post, and I obtained them only after several years.
Gansui (Platyphyllariae Radix, plump and solid with bead-like nodes, one liang, thinly sliced, stored in a coarse linen bag) Xiongqiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma, one fen, chopped to the size of beans)
Place a large paper-covered incense burner below, ensuring it is airtight and smoke-proof. Leave an opening at the top. Suspend the bag containing Gansui at this opening. Burn a piece of Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma underneath so that the smoke enters and heats the Gansui. Replace with another piece until the Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma is consumed. Take out the Gansui and grind it into powder. For those over thirty years old with robust Qi, take a full three qian; for those with deficiency, take two qian and a half. Take one pair of male sheep kidneys, split open, evenly distribute the powder inside, tie tightly with clean hemp skin, roast over charcoal fire until cooked, but not burnt. Chew thoroughly before sleep, swallow with warm wine according to one's tolerance. If one can drink one dou of wine, five sheng may be taken. Elevate the feet with supports. One dose brings immediate relief.
Use the marrow from pig leg bones, mix with Nifen (Calomel) to form a preparation, place back into the bone, wrap in mud, and bake over fire. Once fragrant and cooked, remove. First bathe the sore in warm salt water, then apply the ointment. From Lin'an's "Chen Ling Zhuan Ji Xiao".
Chuanwu (Aconitum Carmichaelii Lateral Root Preparatum, one liang, each broken into four pieces) Dadou (Sojae Semen, one and a half liang)
Cook together in a clay pot until extremely soft. Each dose consists of one piece of the prepared herb and a few beans, taken on an empty stomach with wine. My brother's son suffered from widespread sores, spasms, and could not stand upright...
