〔大〕产后吹奶者，因儿吃奶之次，儿忽自睡，呼气不通，乳不时泄，蓄积在内，遂
成肿硬，壅闭乳道，津液不通，伤结疼痛。亦有不痒不痛，肿硬如石，名曰吹奶。若不急
治，肿甚成痈。产后吹奶，最宜急治，不尔结痈，逮至死者。速服皂角散、栝蒌散，敷
以天南星散，以手揉之则散矣。
〔薛〕前证用药，切不可损其气血。余详外科乳痈条。
栝蒌散方
乳香（一钱，研） 栝蒌实（一个） 研匀，温酒煎服。
天南星散
南星（为末） 温汤调，以鹅翎蘸涂患处。
皂角散
歌曰∶妇人吹奶治如何？皂角烧灰蛤粉和，热酒一杯调八字，须臾揉散笑呵呵。
治奶结硬疼痛。
百药煎为细末，每服三钱，酒一盏，煎数沸，热服。
乳硬作痛
嫩桑叶生研，以米饮调，摊纸花贴肿处。
《补遗》治产后吹奶，结实肿痛。
用陈皮（一两） 甘草（一钱）
水二碗，煎至一碗，分两服。次用荆芥、羌活、独活煎汤熏洗，即散。
夫妒乳者，由新产后儿未能饮之，及乳不泄，或乳胀捏其汁不尽，皆令乳汁蓄结，与
血气相搏，即壮热大渴引饮，牢强掣痛，手不得近是也。初觉便知以手捋捏去汁，更令
旁人助吮引之，不尔，或作疮有脓，其热势盛，必成痈也。轻则为吹乳、妒乳，重则为
痈。虽有专门，不可不知。
连翘汤 治产后妒乳并痈。
连翘 升麻 芒硝 玄参 芍药 白蔹 防风 射干 大黄 杏仁 甘草（各一钱）
上作一服，水二盅，煎至一盅，食后服。
疗产后妇乳初结胀不消，令败乳自退方。
栝蒌（一个，半生半炒） 大粉草（一寸，半生半炙） 生姜（一块，半生半煨）
上同锉，用酒一碗，煮取一盏，去渣服之。其痛一会不可忍，即搜去败乳，临卧再
一服，顺所患处乳侧卧于床上，令其药行故也。
疗产后吹乳作痈。
葵茎及子
上捣筛为散，酒服方寸匕，即愈。
又方 鸡屎干为末，酒服方寸匕，须臾三服愈。
又方 皂角十条，以酒一升，揉取汁，消石半两，煎成膏敷之。
疗乳肿将次结成痈方。
上以马溺涂之立愈。
《补遗》疗产后吹奶、妒奶，但未结成痈，或成痈未作有脓者。
蔓荆子捣烂酒服，仍以渣敷患处。
又方 用赤小豆酒研烂，温酒服；滓封患处。
又方 仙人掌草一握，小酒糟一块，生姜一大块，同研烂，入桂末少许炒，酒服留
滓罨患处。
《集验》论曰∶凡妇人女子，乳头生小浅热疮，搔之黄汁出，浸淫为长，百种疗不瘥
者，动经年月，名为妒乳病。妇人饮儿者，乳皆欲断，世谓苟抄乳是也。宜以赤龙皮汤
及天麻汤洗之，敷二物飞乌膏及飞乌散佳。始作者可敷以黄芩漏芦散、黄连胡粉散并
佳。
赤龙皮汤
槲皮（三升，切）
上以水一斗，煮五升，夏冷用，秋冬温之，分以洗乳。
天麻汤
天麻草（五升，切）
上以水一斗半，煎取一斗，随寒温分洗乳以杀痒也。此草叶如麻叶，冬生，夏着花，
赤如鼠尾花。亦以洗浸淫黄烂热疮、痒疽、湿阴蚀疮、小儿头疮，洗毕敷膏散。
飞乌膏散方
用烧朱砂作水银上黑烟（名维粉者三两，熬令焦燥） 矾石（三两，烧粉）
上二味，以绢筛细，以甲煎和之，令如脂，以敷乳疮，日三。作者不须和，有汁自
着可用散。亦敷诸热疮，黄烂浸淫汁疮，蜜疮，丈夫阴蚀痒湿，诸小儿头疮，疳蚀，口
浸淫疮，蜗疮等，并以此敷之。
又黄连胡粉膏散方
黄连（二两） 胡粉（二两半） 水银（一两，同研令消散）
上三味，捣黄连为末，三物相和，皮裹熟 之，自和合也。纵不成一家，且得水银
细散人粉中，以敷乳疮，诸湿痒、黄烂肥疮。若着甲煎为膏，《千金》同。
《补遗》妇人乳头小浅疮烂痒。以芙蓉花或叶干为末，掺之。又有妇人乳头裂痛，取
秋后冷落茄子花裂开者，阴干烧存性，水调涂之。
【戴元礼】产后发生吹奶，是因为婴儿吃奶时突然自行睡去，导致呼气不畅（此处指乳汁排出受阻），乳汁不时溢出却蓄积在体内，从而形成肿胀坚硬，壅塞闭塞乳道，津液运行不通，损伤凝结并引起疼痛。也有不痒不痛、肿胀坚硬如石头者，称为吹奶。如果不紧急治疗，肿胀严重会发展成痈疽。产后吹奶，最适宜紧急治疗，否则结块成痈，拖延至死亡。应迅速服用皂角散、栝蒌散，外敷天南星散，用手揉搓即可消散。
【薛己】上述病症用药，切不可损伤气血。我详细论述见外科“乳痈”条目。
栝蒌散方
乳香（一钱，研碎） 栝蒌实（一个）
研匀，用温酒煎服。
皂角散
歌诀说：妇人吹奶如何治？皂角烧灰与蛤粉调和，热酒一杯调八字（指药量或特定比例），片刻揉散笑呵呵。
治疗乳汁结硬疼痛。
百药煎研为细末，每次服用三钱，用一盏酒，煎煮数沸，热服。
《补遗》治疗产后吹奶，结实肿痛。

所谓妒乳，是由于新产后婴儿未能吸吮，以及乳汁排泄不畅，或者乳房胀痛时挤压乳汁未排尽，都导致乳汁蓄积凝结，与血气相互搏结，于是出现高热、大渴引饮、牢固强直掣痛、手不可触碰等症状。初觉症状时便知道用手捋捏排出乳汁，再让旁人帮助吸吮引导，如果不这样做，或者形成疮疡有脓，热势旺盛，必然成为痈疽。轻则为吹乳、妒乳，重则为痈。虽有专门科室，不可不知晓。
连翘汤 治疗产后妒乳及痈疽。
连翘 升麻 芒硝 玄参 芍药 白蔹 防风 射干 大黄 杏仁 甘草（各一钱）
以上为一剂，用水两盅，煎至一盅，饭后服用。
治疗产后妇女乳房初起结胀不消，使败乳自然消退的方子。

以上一同切碎，用酒一碗，煮取一盏，去渣服用。服药后疼痛一时难以忍受，随即搜出败乳，临睡前再服一次，顺患侧乳房侧卧于床上，以使药力运行故也。
治疗产后吹乳发展为痈疽。
葵茎及其种子
以上捣筛为散，用酒送服方寸匕，即愈。
又一方 鸡屎干研为末，用酒送服方寸匕，片刻内服三次即愈。
又一方 皂角十条，用酒一升，揉取汁液，加入消石半两，煎成膏状敷之。
《补遗》治疗产后吹奶、妒奶，但尚未结成痈疽，或已成痈疽但未化脓者。
蔓荆子捣烂用酒服，仍以药渣敷患处。
又一方 仙人掌草一把，小酒糟一块，生姜一大块，同研烂，加入少许桂末炒制，用酒服，留药渣罨敷患处。
《集验》论述说：凡是妇人女子，乳头生小浅表热疮，搔抓后黄汁流出，浸淫蔓延生长，各种疗法无效，经年累月不愈者，名为妒乳病。哺乳妇人的乳汁都会断绝，世人称为苟抄乳。宜用赤龙皮汤及天麻汤清洗，敷二物飞乌膏及飞乌散为佳。初发时可敷以黄芩漏芦散、黄连胡粉散均佳。
赤龙皮汤
槲皮（三升，切碎）
以上用水一斗，煮取五升，夏季冷用，秋冬温热使用，分次清洗乳房。
天麻汤
天麻草（五升，切碎）
以上用水一斗半，煎取一斗，随寒温分次清洗乳房以止痒。此草叶如麻叶，冬季生长，夏季开花，红色如鼠尾花。也可用于清洗浸淫黄烂热疮、痒疽、湿阴蚀疮、小儿头疮，清洗完毕后敷膏散。
飞乌膏散方
用烧朱砂产生的水银上黑烟（名维粉者三两，熬令焦燥） 矾石（三两，烧成粉）
以上两味，用绢筛细，用甲煎调和，使其如脂状，敷于乳疮，每日三次。初发者不需调和，有汁液自着可用散剂。也敷治各种热疮、黄烂浸淫汁疮、蜜疮、丈夫阴蚀痒湿、诸小儿头疮、疳蚀、口浸淫疮、蜗疮等，都用此敷治。
又黄连胡粉膏散方
黄连（二两） 胡粉（二两半） 水银（一两，同研令消散）
以上三味，捣黄连为末，三物相和，用皮包裹煮熟，自然融合。即使不成一家，暂且将水银细散入粉中，以敷乳疮、诸湿痒、黄烂肥疮。若加甲煎为膏，《千金方》相同。
[Dai Yuanli] Postpartum "chui nai" (blown milk) occurs when the infant falls asleep suddenly while breastfeeding, causing obstruction of milk flow. Milk leaks intermittently but accumulates internally, leading to swelling and hardness, blocking the mammary ducts, obstructing the flow of fluids, resulting in injury, condensation, and pain. There are also cases with no itching or pain, where the breast is swollen and hard as stone, termed "chui nai". If not treated urgently, severe swelling may develop into an abscess. Postpartum chui nai requires urgent treatment; otherwise, it will form an abscess, potentially leading to death. One should quickly administer Zaojiao San (Gleditsia Sinensis Powder) and Gualou San (Trichosanthes Fruit Powder), apply Tiannanxing San (Arisaema Cum Bile Powder) externally, and massage with hands to dissipate the lump.
[Xue Ji] For the aforementioned conditions, medications must not damage Qi and Blood. I have detailed this in the section on Surgical Diseases: Ru Yong (Breast Abscess).
Gualou San Formula
Ruxiang (One qian, ground) Gualou Shi (One fruit)
Grind evenly, decoct with warm wine, and take orally.
Tiannanxing San
Nanxing (Ground into powder)
Mix with warm water, dip a goose feather into the mixture, and apply to the affected area.
Zaojiao San
Song verse: How to treat postpartum blown milk? Burn Gleditsia sinensis to ash, mix with clam powder, adjust eight characters with a cup of hot wine, rub away in moments, laughing happily.
Treats hard lumps and pain in the breasts.
Baiyaojian (Fermented Medicated Leaven) ground into fine powder, take three qian per dose, decoct with one zhan of wine for several boils, take hot.
Hard breasts with pain
Fresh mulberry leaves, ground raw, mixed with rice water, spread on paper flowers, and applied to the swollen area.
[Supplement] Treats postpartum chui nai, solid lumps with swelling and pain.
Use Chenpi (One liang) Gancao (One qian)
Decoct two bowls of water until one bowl remains, divide into two doses. Subsequently, fumigate and wash with a decoction of Jingjie, Qianghuo, and Duhuo, which will dissipate the condition.
The term "du ru" (jealous milk) refers to conditions where, after new childbirth, the infant fails to suckle, or milk does not discharge, or the breasts swell and squeezing does not empty the milk completely. This causes milk to accumulate and condense, battling with Qi and Blood, resulting in high fever, intense thirst requiring drinking, firm and strong pulling pain, and tenderness such that the hand cannot touch it. Upon initial sensation, one should know to use hands to stroke and squeeze out the milk, and ask others to help suckle and guide it. If not done so, it may turn into a sore with pus, and with intense heat, inevitably become an abscess. Mild cases are chui ru or du ru; severe cases are abscesses. Although there are specialized departments, one must not be unaware of this.
Lianqiao Tang treats postpartum du ru and abscesses.
Lianqiao Shengma Mangxiao Xuanshen Shaoyao Bailian Fangfeng Shegan Dahuang Xingren Gancao (Each one qian)
Take as one dose, decoct two zhong of water until one zhong remains, take after meals.
Formula to treat postpartum women whose breasts initially knot and swell without subsiding, allowing stale milk to recede naturally.
Gualou (One fruit, half raw half stir-fried) Dafengcao (One cun, half raw half roasted) Shengjiang (One piece, half raw half baked)
Chop together, decoct one bowl of wine until one zhan remains, remove dregs and take. The pain may become unbearable for a moment, then search out and remove the stale milk. Take another dose before sleep, lying on the side of the affected breast to facilitate the action of the medicine.
Treats postpartum chui ru developing into an abscess.
Kuijing and its seeds
Pound and sieve into powder, take with wine using a fangcun bi measure, and it will heal.
Another formula
Jisigan (Dried chicken manure) ground into powder, take with wine using a fangcun bi measure, take three doses within moments to heal.
Another formula
Take ten strips of Zaojiao, add one sheng of wine, knead to extract juice, add Xiaoshi (Mirabilite) half liang, decoct into a paste and apply.
Formula to treat breast swelling about to form an abscess.
Apply horse urine to it, and it will heal immediately.
[Supplement] Treats postpartum chui nai and du nai, but not yet formed into an abscess, or already an abscess but not yet suppurated.
Manjingzi pounded and taken with wine, still apply the residue to the affected area.
Another formula
Use Chixiaodou (Adzuki bean) pounded with wine, take with warm wine; seal the affected area with the residue.
Another formula
Take one handful of Zhangxianren Cao (Opuntia ficus-indica), one piece of small Jiucao (Wine lees), one large piece of Shengjiang (Fresh ginger), pound together until smooth, add a little Gui (Cinnamon bark) powder and stir-fry, take with wine, leave the residue to compress the affected area.
[Ji Yan] Discussion states: Whenever women have small, superficial, hot sores on the nipples, scratching yields yellow fluid, which spreads and grows, resisting all treatments for months or years, this is named Du Ru disease. The milk of nursing women will all cease, known in the world as Gouchao ru. It is suitable to wash with Chilongpi Tang and Tianma Tang, and applying Erwu Feiwu Gao and Feiwu San is excellent. At the onset, applying Huangqin Lulü San or Huanglian Hufen San is also excellent.
Chilongpi Tang
Hupi (Three sheng, cut)
Decoct one dou of water until five sheng remain, use cold in summer, warm in autumn and winter, divide to wash the breasts.
Tianma Tang
Tianmacao (Five sheng, cut)
Decoct one dan five sheng of water until one dou remains, wash the breasts according to cold or warmth to kill itching. This herb has leaves like hemp, grows in winter, flowers in summer, red like rat-tail flower. It can also be used to wash spreading yellow-rotting hot sores, itch-related abscesses, wet yin erosion sores, and children's head sores. After washing, apply ointment and powder.
Feiwu Gao San Formula
Use black smoke from burning Zhusha (Cinnabar) over mercury (named Weifen, three liang, roasted until dry) Fanshi (Three liang, roasted into powder)
Sift the two ingredients finely through silk, mix with Jiajian (Shellac preparation) to make a paste-like consistency, apply to breast sores, three times daily. For early stages, do not mix; if there is exudate, use the powder directly. Also applies to various hot sores, yellow-rotting spreading fluid sores, honey sores, men's yin erosion with itching and dampness, children's head sores, gan erosion, oral spreading sores, and snake sores, all applied with this.
Another Huanglian Hufen Gao San Formula
Huanglian (Two liang) Hufen (Two and a half liang) Shuiyin (Mercury, one liang, ground together until dispersed)
Pound Huanglian into powder, mix the three substances, wrap in skin and cook熟 (steam/boil) until they combine naturally. Even if not fully combined, at least ensure mercury is finely dispersed into the powder, apply to breast sores, various damp itches, yellow-rotting fatty sores. If mixed with Jiajian to form a paste, it is the same as in Qianjin Fang.
[Supplement] For women with small, superficial, rotting, itchy sores on nipples. Use Furonghua (Hibiscus mutabilis flower) or leaves dried and ground into powder, sprinkle on. For women with cracked and painful nipples, take eggplant flowers that have split open after autumn cooling, dry in shade, burn to retain properties, mix with water and apply.
