龙脑安神丸（《集验》） 治男妇小儿五积癫痫，无问远年近日，发作无时，但服此药，无不痊愈。

上为细末，炼蜜和丸，如弹子大，金箔为衣。如有风痫病岁久，冬月用温水化下，夏
月用凉水化下，不拘时候。如病二三年，日进三服。小儿一丸，分作二服。又治男妇虚
劳发热喘嗽，新汲水一盏化开服，其喘满痰嗽立止。又治男子妇人语涩舌强，食后温凉
水化下，日进三服。
龙齿丹 治因惊神志恍惚，久而成痫，时发时止。

上为细末，次入研药和匀，炼蜜为丸，每一两作十五丸。每服一丸，空心薄荷汤下。
三圣散
瓜蒂（拣净，炒微黄） 防风（去芦。各三两） 藜芦（《圣惠方》减用之，或一两，或半两，或三钱。）
上为粗末，每服约半两，以齑汁三茶盏，先用二盏煎三五沸，去齑汁，次入水一盏，煎
至三沸，却将先二盏同一处熬二沸，去渣澄清，放温，徐徐服之。以吐为度，不必尽剂。
清神汤 治心热，痰迷胞络。
茯神（去皮木） 黄连（各二钱） 酸枣仁（炒） 石菖蒲 柏子仁（去壳） 远志（各一钱，甘草同煮，去
骨） 甘草（五分）
痰壅，加南星、半夏、橘红、栝蒌仁、竹沥、姜汁。
水二盅，煎八分，食远服。

《杨氏》五痫丸 治癫痫潮发，不问新久。
白附子（半两，炮） 半夏（二两，汤洗） 皂角（二两，捶碎，用水半升，揉汁去渣，与白矾一处，熬干
为度，研） 天南星（姜制） 白矾（生） 乌蛇（酒浸，各一两） 全蝎（炒，二钱） 蜈蚣（半条） 白僵蚕（炒，一
两半） 麝香（三字，研） 朱砂（二钱半，水飞） 雄黄（水飞，一钱半）
上为细末，生姜汁煮面糊为丸，如梧桐子大。每服三十丸，温生姜汤送下，食后服。
犀角丸（河间） 治风癫痫，发作有时，扬手掷足，口吐痰涎，不省人事，暗倒屈伸。
犀角末（半两） 赤石脂（三两） 朴硝（二两） 白僵蚕（一两） 薄荷叶（一两）
上为末，面糊丸，如梧子大。每服二三十丸，温水下，日三服，不拘时。如觉痰多
即减数。忌油腻、炙爆。
参朱丸 治风痫，大有神效。
人参 蛤粉 朱砂（各等分）
上为细末， 猪心血为丸，如梧子大。每服三十丸，金、银煎汤下，食远服。
琥珀寿星丸（《局方》用南星一斤，朱砂二两，琥珀一两，无猪心血。）
天南星（一斤） 掘坑深二尺，用炭火五斤，于坑内烧热红，取出炭，扫净，用好酒一升
浇之，将南星趁热下坑内，用盆急盖讫，泥壅合，经一宿取出，再焙干为末。
琥珀（四两，另研） 朱砂（一两，研飞，以一半为衣）
上和匀，猪心血三个，生姜汁打面糊，搅令稠粘，将心血和入药末，丸如桐子大。每
服五十丸，煎人参汤空心送下，日三服。
葶苈苦酒汤 治发狂烦躁，面赤咽痛。
苦酒（一升半） 葶苈（一合） 生艾汁（无生艾，以熟艾汁半升）
上煎取七合，作三服。
泻青丸（见头痛。） 导赤散（见发热。）
妙香丸 治丈夫妇人时疾伤寒，解五毒，治潮热积热，及小儿惊痫百病。
巴豆（三百一十五粒，去皮心膜，炒熟，研如面） 牛黄（研） 龙脑（研） 腻粉（研） 麝香（研。各三两）
辰砂（飞研，九两） 金箔（研，九十片）
上合研匀，炼黄蜡六两，入白蜜三分，同炼令匀，为丸，每两作三十丸。如治潮热积
热，伤寒结胸，发黄，狂走躁热，口干面赤，大小便不通，煎大黄、炙甘草汤下一丸。毒
利下血，煎黄连汤调腻粉少许。如患酒毒、食毒、茶毒、气毒、风痰伏痞吐逆等，并用腻
粉、龙脑、米饮下。中毒吐血，闷乱烦躁欲死者，用生人血下立愈。小儿百病惊痫，急
慢凉风，涎潮搐搦，用龙脑、腻粉、蜜汤下绿豆大二丸。诸积食积热，颊赤烦躁，睡卧
不宁，惊哭泻痢，并用金、银、薄荷汤下，更量岁数加减。如大人及妇人因病伤寒时疾，阴
阳气交结，伏毒瓦斯胃中，喘躁眼赤，潮发不定，再经日数七八日己下至半月日未安，医
所不明，证候脉息交乱者，可服一丸，或分作三丸亦可。并用龙脑、腻粉、米饮调半盏
已来，下此一服。取转下一切恶毒涎，并药丸泻下。如要却收，水洗净，以油单纸裹，埋
入地中，五日取出，可再与大人小儿根据法服。一丸救三人，即不堪使。如要药速行，即用
针刺一孔子，冷水浸少时，服之即效更速。
五生丸 李仲南传，治痫有神。
南星 半夏 川乌 白附子（各一两） 大豆（去皮秤，二钱半）
上为细末，滴水为丸，桐子大。每服三丸至五丸，不得过七丸，姜汤下。
又五生丸 治风痫。
川乌头 附子（各生用，去皮脐） 天南星（生） 半夏（生） 干生姜（各半两）
上为细末，醋煮大豆汁作糊和丸，如梧桐子大。每服五丸，冷酒送下，不拘时。
升阳汤 治阳跷痫。足太阳下行，宜升阳气。
麻黄（八钱，不去节） 羌活（一两半） 防风根（八钱 炙） 甘草（五钱）
每服三钱，水五大盏，煎至一盏，去渣，稍热服，宿食消尽，腹中空服之。后避风寒
一二时辰乃效。
浓朴丸（见反胃。）
妙功丸 治诸痫，无不愈者。
丁香 木香 沉香（各半两） 乳香（研） 麝香（另研） 熊胆（各二钱半） 白丁香（三百粒） 轻粉

蓬莪术 陈皮（去白） 雷丸 鹤虱（各一两） 大黄（一两半） 赤小豆（三百粒） 巴豆（七粒，去皮心膜油）
上为细末，荞面一两半作糊，和匀，每两作十丸，朱砂水飞一两为衣，阴干。每服
一丸，用温水浸一宿，去水，再用温水化开，空心服之，小儿加减服。十年病一服即愈，若
未愈，三五日再服，重者不过三服。
昔有一人好酒，得痫病二十年，用药一服，取下虫一枚，约长四五寸，身有鳞，其病遂愈。
《金匮》风引汤 除热癫痫。
大黄 干姜 龙骨（各四两） 桂枝（去皮，三
两） 甘草（炙） 牡蛎（ 。各二两） 凝水石 滑石 赤石脂 石膏 紫石英 白石脂（各六两）
上一十二味，杵粗末筛，以韦囊盛之，取三指撮，井花水三升，煮三沸，去渣，温服
一升。深师云∶大人风引，少小惊痫，后螈 日数十发，医所不治，除热方效，宜风引也。
治痫疾
川芎（二两） 防风 猪牙皂角 郁金 明矾（各一两） 蜈蚣（黄脚、赤脚各一条）
上六味，为细末，蒸饼丸，如梧子大。空心茶清下十五丸，一月除根。
神应丹 治诸痫。
好辰砂（不以多少）
上细研，猪心血和匀，以蒸饼裹剂蒸熟，就热取出，丸如桐子大。每服一丸，人参汤
下，食后临卧。
珠子辰砂丹 治风痫久不愈。
山药 人参 远志 防风 紫石英 茯神 虎骨 虎睛 龙齿 五味子 石菖蒲 丹参
细辛（各二钱半） 真珠末（四分） 辰砂（二钱，研，为衣）
上为末，面糊丸，如桐子大，朱砂为衣。每服三五十丸，煎金、银汤送下，日进三服。
忌鱼、肉、湿面、动风之物。
治风痫及心风病
皂角三挺，捶碎， 滤取汁，熬如稀糊，摊纸上曝令干。取两叶如小钱大，用温
浆水浸洗下，去纸，注于两鼻内各一蚬壳许，须臾涎下，咬箸沥涎尽，后用∶
赭石（生，一两） 白矾（生，二两）
上为末，稀糊丸，如桐子大。每服三十丸，冷水送下，无时，以效为度。
法煮蓖麻子 治诸痫病，不问年深日近。
蓖麻子（取仁，二两） 黄连（一两，锉如豆大）
上用银石器，内水一大碗，慢火熬，水尽即添水，熬三日两夜为度，去黄连，只用
蓖麻子仁，风干不得见日，用竹刀切，每个作四段，每服五粒，作二十段，荆芥汤下，食
后，日二服。（凡服蓖麻子者，终身忌食豆，若犯之则腹胀而死。）
银箔丸 治风痫积年不瘥，风痰渐多，得热即发。
银箔（三十片） 铁粉（研） 防风（去芦） 人参（去芦） 川升麻 生地黄 犀角屑 龙齿（研） 熊
胆（各一两） 乌蛇肉（酒浸） 麦门冬（去心，各一两半）
上为细末，炼蜜和捣三五百下，丸如梧桐子大，每服二三十丸，食后温水送下，日进二服。
牛黄丸 治风痫病，精神不全，常有痰涎在胸膈，呕吐不出，烦闷气壅。

上为细末，同研令匀，炼蜜和捣五七百下，丸如梧子大，每服三十丸，荆芥汤下，不拘时。
胜金丸 治风痫有惊骇，不时旋晕潮搐，口吐痰沫，忽然仆地，不省人事。
天南星（姜制） 皂角（去皮弦子） 川乌头（生用） 细辛（去苗） 桔梗（去芦） 威灵仙 何首乌
白矾（枯） 白僵蚕（炒） 乌蛇（酒浸。各一两） 荆芥穗 川芎（各二两）
上为细末，酒糊丸，如桐子大。每服二十丸，食后温酒送下，日二。
雌雄丸（又名六珍丹） 治风痫失性，颠倒欲死，或作牛吼、马嘶、鸡鸣、羊叫、猪声，脏
腑相引，气争掣纵吐沫。
雌黄（叶子者） 雄黄（水飞） 真珠（各一两） 铅（二两，熬成屑） 朱砂（半两，水飞） 水银（一两半）
上为细末，同研极匀，炼蜜和丸，如梧桐子大。每服三丸至五丸，姜、枣汤送下。
虎睛丸 治痫疾潮搐，精神恍惚，烦乱
不宁，口干喜水，或时谵语。
虎睛（一对） 犀角屑 远志（去心） 栀子仁 大黄（各一两）
上为细末，炼蜜和丸，如绿豆大。每服二十丸，温酒送下，食后服。
控涎丸 治诸痫久不愈，顽涎聚散无时，变生诸证。
川乌（生用） 半夏（汤洗） 白僵蚕（炒，各半两，锉碎，生姜汁浸一宿） 全蝎（七枚，炒） 铁粉（三钱，
研） 甘遂（二钱半，面裹煨）
上为细末，生姜自然汁打糊为丸，如绿豆大，朱砂为衣。每服十五丸，食后生姜汤送下。忌食甘草。
龙脑安神丸（出自《集验方》）：治疗男女小儿的五积癫痫，无论病程长短、发作时间不定，只要服用此药，没有不痊愈的。
龙脑（研磨）、麝香（研磨）、牛黄（各三钱，研磨）、犀角屑、茯神（去除木质部分）、人参（去除芦头）、麦门冬（去除心）、朱砂（水飞法处理，各二两）、金箔（三十五片）、马牙硝（二钱）、甘草（炙烤）、地骨皮、桑白皮（各一两，炒制）。
以上药物研成细末，用炼过的蜂蜜调和制成丸剂，大小如弹子，外用金箔包裹作为衣层。如果是风痫病且病程长久，冬季用温水化开送服，夏季用凉水化开送服，不限定具体时间。如果患病两三年，每日服用三次。小儿每次一丸，分两次服用。又治疗男女虚劳引起的发热喘嗽，用一杯刚汲取的冷水化开服用，气喘胸闷痰嗽立即停止。又治疗男女言语涩滞舌体僵硬，饭后用温凉水化开送服，每日三次。
龙齿丹：治疗因受惊导致神志恍惚，日久形成癫痫，时发时止。
龙齿（研磨）、白僵蚕（炒制）、白花蛇肉（酒浸）、朱砂（水飞）、铁粉（研磨）、石菖蒲、远志（去除心）、木香、橘红（去除白色内皮）、麻黄（去除节）、天麻、天南星（姜汁制）、人参（去芦，各半两）、紫苏子（一两）、龙脑（研磨，半钱）、全蝎（二钱半，炒制）、麝香（一钱，单独研磨）。
以上药物研成细末，再次加入已研磨的药物混合均匀，用炼蜜制成丸剂，每两药粉制成十五丸。每次服用一丸，空腹时用薄荷汤送服。
三圣散：
瓜蒂（拣选干净，炒至微黄）、防风（去芦，各三两）、藜芦（《圣惠方》中建议减量使用，或一两，或半两，或三钱）。
以上药物研成粗末，每次服用约半两，用醋汁三茶盏，先用两盏醋汁煎煮三五沸，去掉醋汁，接着加入水一盏，煎至三沸，然后将前两盏药液合在一起再熬两沸，去掉药渣澄清，放温后徐徐服用。以呕吐为度，不必喝完所有药液。
清神汤：治疗心热，痰迷心包络。
茯神（去皮木）、黄连（各二钱）、酸枣仁（炒制）、石菖蒲、柏子仁（去壳）、远志（各一钱，与甘草同煮，去骨）、甘草（五分）。
若痰壅盛，加南星、半夏、橘红、栝蒌仁、竹沥、姜汁。
用水两盅，煎至八分，饭后服用。
承气汤（参见大便不通章节）、东垣安神丸（参见虚烦章节）、通圣散（参见眩晕章节）、星香散（参见中风章节）。
《杨氏》五痫丸：治疗癫痫频繁发作，不问新病久病。
白附子（半两，炮制）、半夏（二两，热水洗）、皂角（二两，捶碎，用水半升，揉搓取汁去渣，与白矾一起，熬干为止，研磨）、天南星（姜汁制）、白矾（生用）、乌蛇（酒浸，各一两）、全蝎（炒制，二钱）、蜈蚣（半条）、白僵蚕（炒制，一两半）、麝香（三字量，研磨）、朱砂（二钱半，水飞）、雄黄（水飞，一钱半）。
以上药物研成细末，用生姜汁煮面糊制成丸剂，大小如梧桐子。每次服用三十丸，温生姜汤送下，饭后服用。
犀角丸（河间所创）：治疗风癫痫，发作有定时，扬手掷足，口吐痰涎，不省人事，暗中跌倒屈伸抽搐。
犀角末（半两）、赤石脂（三两）、朴硝（二两）、白僵蚕（一两）、薄荷叶（一两）。
以上药物研成末，用面糊制成丸剂，大小如梧桐子。每次服用二三十丸，温水送下，每日三次，不限时间。如果觉得痰多就减少剂量。忌食油腻、油炸食物。
参朱丸：治疗风痫，效果显著。
人参、蛤粉、朱砂（各等分）。
以上药物研成细末，用猪心血制成丸剂，大小如梧桐子。每次服用三十丸，金银煎汤送下，饭后服用。
琥珀寿星丸（《局方》用法：南星一斤，朱砂二两，琥珀一两，无猪心血则不用。）
天南星（一斤）：挖坑深二尺，用五斤炭火在坑内烧红，取出炭，扫干净，用好酒一升浇在上面，趁热将南星放入坑内，用盆迅速盖好，用泥密封缝隙，经过一夜取出，再焙干研成末。
琥珀（四两，单独研磨）、朱砂（一两，研磨水飞，取一半作为丸衣）。
以上混合均匀，用三个猪心血，生姜汁打面糊，搅拌至稠粘，将心血和入药末，制成如桐子大的丸剂。每次服用五十丸，煎人参汤空腹送下，每日三次。
葶苈苦酒汤：治疗发狂烦躁，面红咽痛。
苦酒（一升半）、葶苈（一合）、生艾汁（若无生艾，用熟艾汁半升）。
以上煎取七合，分三次服用。
妙香丸：治疗男女时行伤寒，解除五种毒邪，治疗潮热积热，以及小儿惊痫各种疾病。
巴豆（三百一十五粒，去皮心膜，炒熟，研磨如面粉状）、牛黄（研磨）、龙脑（研磨）、腻粉（研磨）、麝香（研磨，各三两）、辰砂（飞研，九两）、金箔（研磨，九十片）。
以上混合研磨均匀，用六两炼黄蜡，加入三分白蜜，一同炼制均匀，制成丸剂，每两药粉作三十丸。如果治疗潮热积热、伤寒结胸、发黄、狂走躁热、口干面红、大小便不通，煎大黄、炙甘草汤送下一丸。如果中毒利下血，煎黄连汤调服少许腻粉。如果患有酒毒、食毒、茶毒、气毒、风痰伏痞吐逆等，均用腻粉、龙脑、米饮送下。中毒吐血，闷乱烦躁欲死者，用人血送下立愈。小儿百病惊痫，急慢惊风，涎潮搐搦，用龙脑、腻粉、蜜汤送下绿豆大二小的两丸。各种积食积热，脸颊红赤烦躁，睡卧不宁，惊哭泻痢，均用金银、薄荷汤送下，并根据年龄加减剂量。如果大人及妇人因病患伤寒时疾，阴阳之气交结，伏毒瓦斯在胃中，喘躁眼红，发作不定，再过七八天甚至半个月仍未好转，医生诊断不明，证候脉息混乱者，可服用一丸，或分作三丸也可。均用龙脑、腻粉、米饮调半盏左右，送服这一剂。目的是转下一切恶毒涎液，并将药丸排出。如果要回收药效，用水洗净，用油单纸包裹，埋入地下，五日取出，可再给大人小孩按方法服用。一丸可救三人，之后便不堪使用了。如果要药力速行，就用针刺一个孔，用冷水浸泡一会儿，服用即效更速。
五生丸：李仲南传授，治疗癫痫有神效。
南星、半夏、川乌、白附子（各一两）、大豆（去皮称重，二钱半）。
以上研成细末，滴水制成丸剂，大小如桐子。每次服用三丸至五丸，不得超过七丸，姜汤送下。
又五生丸：治疗风痫。
川乌头、附子（各生用，去皮脐）、天南星（生用）、半夏（生用）、干生姜（各半两）。
以上研成细末，用醋煮大豆汁作糊调和制成丸剂，大小如梧桐子。每次服用五丸，冷酒送下，不限时间。
升阳汤：治疗阳跷痫。足太阳经气下行，宜升发阳气。
麻黄（八钱，不去节）、羌活（一两半）、防风根（八钱，炙烤）、甘草（五钱）。
每次服用三钱，水五大盏，煎至一盏，去渣，稍热服用，宿食消尽，腹中空虚时服用。之后避风寒一两个时辰才见效。
妙功丸：治疗各种癫痫，无不痊愈。
丁香、木香、沉香（各半两）、乳香（研磨）、麝香（另研）、熊胆（各二钱半）、白丁香（三百粒）、轻粉（四钱半）、雄黄（研磨）、青皮（去白）、黄芩、胡黄连（各半两）、黄连、黑牵牛（炒制）、荆三棱（煨制）、甘草（炙烤）、蓬莪术、陈皮（去白）、雷丸、鹤虱（各一两）、大黄（一两半）、赤小豆（三百粒）、巴豆（七粒，去皮心膜油）。
以上研成细末，用一两半荞面作糊，混合均匀，每两药粉作十丸，用一两水飞朱砂为衣，阴干。每次服用一丸，用温水浸泡一夜，去水，再用温水化开，空腹服用，小儿酌情加减。十年病史服药一次即愈，若未愈，三五日后再服，重症不超过三次。
从前有一人嗜好饮酒，患癫痫二十年，用药一次，吐出虫一枚，长约四五寸，身上有鳞，其病遂愈。
《金匮》风引汤：清除热邪引起的癫痫。
大黄、干姜、龙骨（各四两）、桂枝（去皮，三两）、甘草（炙烤）、牡蛎（煅，各二两）、凝水石、滑石、赤石脂、石膏、紫石英、白石脂（各六两）。
以上十二味药，捣成粗末过筛，用韦囊盛装，取三指撮的药量，用井花水三升，煮三沸，去渣，温服一升。深师说：大人风引，小儿惊痫，日后抽搐每天发作数十次，医生无法治疗的，除热方有效，适宜用风引汤。
治痫疾方：
川芎（二两）、防风、猪牙皂角、郁金、明矾（各一两）、蜈蚣（黄脚、赤脚各一条）。
以上六味药，研成细末，蒸饼制成丸剂，大小如梧桐子。空腹茶清送下十五丸，一个月除根。
神应丹：治疗各种癫痫。
优质辰砂（不限多少）。
以上细研，用猪心血和匀，用蒸饼包裹剂型蒸熟，趁热取出，制成如桐子大的丸剂。每次服用一丸，人参汤送下，饭后临睡前服用。
珠子辰砂丹：治疗风痫久治不愈。
山药、人参、远志、防风、紫石英、茯神、虎骨、虎睛、龙齿、五味子、石菖蒲、丹参、细辛（各二钱半）、真珠末（四分）、辰砂（二钱，研磨，作为丸衣）。
以上研成末，面糊制成丸剂，大小如桐子，朱砂为衣。每次服用三五十丸，煎金银汤送下，每日三次。忌食鱼、肉、湿面、动风之物。
治风痫及心风病方：
皂角三挺，捶碎，过滤取汁，熬如稀糊，摊在纸上晒干。取两张叶子大小如小钱的药片，用温浆水浸洗送下，去掉纸，滴入两鼻孔各一蚬壳许的量，须臾之间涎液流出，咬住筷子沥尽涎液，然后用：
赭石（生用，一两）、白矾（生用，二两）。
以上研成末，稀糊制成丸剂，大小如桐子。每次服用三十丸，冷水送下，不限时间，以见效为度。
法煮蓖麻子方：治疗各种癫痫病，不问年深日近。
蓖麻子（取仁，二两）、黄连（一两，锉如豆大）。
以上用银石器，内加大碗水，慢火熬，水尽即添水，熬三日两夜为止，去掉黄连，只用蓖麻子仁，风干不得见日，用竹刀切，每个作四段，每次服用五粒，作二十段，荆芥汤送下，饭后，每日二次。（凡服用蓖麻子者，终身忌食豆类，若犯之则腹胀而死。）
银箔丸：治疗风痫多年不愈，风痰渐多，得热即发。
银箔（三十片）、铁粉（研磨）、防风（去芦）、人参（去芦）、川升麻、生地黄、犀角屑、龙齿（研磨）、熊胆（各一两）、乌蛇肉（酒浸）、麦门冬（去心，各一两半）。
以上研成细末，炼蜜和捣三五百下，制成如梧桐子大的丸剂，每次服用二三十丸，饭后温水送下，每日两次。
牛黄丸：治疗风痫病，精神不全，常有痰涎在胸膈，呕吐不出，烦闷气壅。
牛黄（研磨）、麝香（各半两，研磨）、虎睛（一对）、蜣螂（去头足翅）、犀角屑、安息香、独活（去芦）、茯神（去木）、远志（去心）、甘草（各一两，炙烤）、防风（去芦，一两半）、人参（去芦）、铁粉（研磨）、朱砂（水飞）、龙齿（各二两，研磨）。
以上研成细末，同研令均匀，炼蜜和捣五七百下，制成如梧子大的丸剂，每次服用三十丸，荆芥汤送下，不限时间。
胜金丸：治疗风痫伴有惊骇，不时头晕潮搐，口吐痰沫，忽然仆倒在地，不省人事。
天南星（姜汁制）、皂角（去皮弦子）、川乌头（生用）、细辛（去苗）、桔梗（去芦）、威灵仙、何首乌、白矾（枯制）、白僵蚕（炒制）、乌蛇（酒浸，各一两）、荆芥穗、川芎（各二两）。
以上研成细末，酒糊制成丸剂，大小如桐子。每次服用二十丸，饭后温酒送下，每日两次。
雌雄丸（又名六珍丹）：治疗风痫失性，颠倒欲死，或发出牛吼、马嘶、鸡鸣、羊叫、猪声，脏腑相引，气争掣纵吐沫。
雌黄（叶子者）、雄黄（水飞）、真珠（各一两）、铅（二两，熬成屑）、朱砂（半两，水飞）、水银（一两半）。
以上研成细末，同研极均匀，炼蜜和丸，如梧桐子大。每次服用三丸至五丸，姜、枣汤送下。
虎睛丸：治疗痫疾潮搐，精神恍惚，烦乱不宁，口干喜水，或时谵语。
虎睛（一对）、犀角屑、远志（去心）、栀子仁、大黄（各一两）。
以上研成细末，炼蜜和丸，如绿豆大。每次服用二十丸，温酒送下，饭后服用。
控涎丸：治疗各种癫痫久治不愈，顽涎聚散无时，变生诸证。
川乌（生用）、半夏（热水洗）、白僵蚕（炒制，各半两，锉碎，生姜汁浸一夜）、全蝎（七枚，炒制）、铁粉（三钱，研磨）、甘遂（二钱半，面裹煨制）。
以上研成细末，生姜自然汁打糊为丸，如绿豆大，朱砂为衣。每次服用十五丸，饭后生姜汤送下。忌食甘草。
Longnao Anshen Wan (Dragon Brain Calming Spirit Pill) [from *Jiyan Fang*]: Treats five accumulations and epilepsy in men, women, and children. Regardless of whether the disease is long-standing or recent, and regardless of irregular onset, taking this medicine will invariably lead to recovery.
Longnao (Borneolum Syntheticum, ground), Shexiang (Moschus, ground), Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis, each 3 qian, ground), Xijiaoxie (Rhinocerotis Cornu, shaved), Fushen (Poria with Hostwood, wood removed), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, radicle removed), Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, heart removed), Zhusha (Cinnabaris, water-ground, each 2 liang), Jinbo (Folium Aurum, 35 pieces), Mayaxiao (Natrii Sulfas, 2 qian), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried), Digupi (Lycii Cortex, 1 liang, stir-fried), Sangbaipi (Mori Cortex, 1 liang, stir-fried).
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of a bullet, coated with Folium Aurum. For wind-epilepsy of long duration, dissolve in warm water in winter and cool water in summer; take at any time. If the illness has lasted two to three years, take three doses daily. For children, one pill divided into two doses. It also treats deficiency-labor fever, wheezing, and coughing in men and women; dissolve one pill in a cup of freshly drawn cold water and take it; wheezing, chest fullness, and phlegm-cough will stop immediately. It also treats speech impediment and stiff tongue in men and women; dissolve after meals in warm-cool water, three times daily.
Longchi Dan (Dragon Tooth Pill): Treats spirit confusion caused by fright, which develops into epilepsy over time, characterized by intermittent attacks.
Longchi (Dent Draconis, ground), Baijiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus, stir-fried), Baihuasheshe Rou (Zaocys Flesh, wine-soaked), Zhusha (Cinnabaris, water-ground), Tiefen (Plumbum Subnitricum, ground), Shichangpu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma), Yuanzhi (Polygalae Radix, heart removed), Muxiang (Costi Radix), Juhong (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Rubrum, white pith removed), Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba, joints removed), Tianma (Gastrodiae Rhizoma), Tiannanxing (Arisomatis Tuber, ginger-processed), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, radicle removed, each half liang), Zisuzi (Perillae Fructus, 1 liang), Longnao (Borneolum Syntheticum, ground, half qian), Quanxie (Scorpio, 2.5 qian, stir-fried), Shexiang (Moschus, 1 qian, separately ground).
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, then mix with the separately ground medicines evenly. Form pills with refined honey, making fifteen pills per liang of powder. Take one pill at a time, washed down with mint decoction on an empty stomach.
Sansheng San (Three Holy Powder):
Gouti (Momordicae Fructus, selected clean, stir-fried until slightly yellow), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, radicle removed, each 3 liang), Lilü (Veratri Radix, reduce dosage as per *Shenghui Fang*, either 1 liang, 0.5 liang, or 3 qian).
Grind into coarse powder. Take approximately half a liang per dose. Use three tea cups of vinegar juice. First, boil two cups of vinegar juice for three to five boils, discard the vinegar juice, then add one cup of water, boil three times. Combine the previous two portions and boil twice more. Strain and clarify, let cool to warm temperature, and drink slowly. Stop when vomiting occurs; do not necessarily finish the entire dose.
Qingshen Tang (Clear Spirit Decoction): Treats Heart heat and phlegm confusing the pericardium collateral.
Fushen (Poria with Hostwood, skin and wood removed), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, each 2 qian), Suanzaoren (Ziziphi Spinosae Semen, stir-fried), Shichangpu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma), Baiziren (Platycladi Semen, shell removed), Yuanzhi (Polygalae Radix, each 1 qian, boiled with Gancao, bone removed), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 5 fen).
If phlegm obstruction is severe, add Tiannanxing, Banxia, Juhong, Gualouren, Zhuli, and Jiangzhi.
Use two bowls of water, decoct until eight-tenths remain. Take after meals.
Chengqi Tang (see Constipation); Dongyuan Anshen Wan (see Deficiency Heat/Restlessness); Tongsheng San (see Vertigo); Xingxiang San (see Stroke).
Yangshi Wu Xian Wan (*Yang's* Five Epilepsy Pill): Treats frequent epileptic seizures, regardless of new or old onset.
Baifuzi (Typhonii Rhizoma, half liang, processed), Banxia (Pinelliae Tuber, 2 liang, washed with hot water), Zaojiao (Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus, 2 liang, crushed, soaked in half sheng of water, rubbed to extract juice, strained, combined with Baifan, boiled dry, then ground), Tiannanxing (Arisomatis Tuber, ginger-processed), Baifan (Alumen, raw), Wushe (Wagler's Pit Viper, wine-soaked, each 1 liang), Quanxie (Scorpio, 2 qian, stir-fried), Wugong (Scolopendra, half strip), Baijiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus, 1.5 liang, stir-fried), Shexiang (Moschus, 3 zhi, ground), Zhusha (Cinnabaris, 2.5 qian, water-ground), Xionghuang (Realgar, water-ground, 1.5 qian).
Grind into fine powder. Make pills using ginger juice and wheat paste, size of Sophora seeds. Take thirty pills per dose, washed down with warm ginger decoction, after meals.
Xijiao Wan (Hejian's Horn Pill): Treats wind-epilepsy with regular onset, characterized by waving hands and throwing feet, foaming at the mouth, loss of consciousness, sudden falling, and flexion/extension convulsions.
Xijiaomo (Rhinocerotis Cornu, half liang), Chishizhi (Halloysit Rubrum, 3 liang), Pu Xiao (Natrii Sulfas, 2 liang), Baijiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus, 1 liang), Bohey e (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba, 1 liang).
Grind into powder. Form pills with wheat paste, size of Sophora seeds. Take twenty to thirty pills per dose, washed down with warm water, three times daily, at any time. Reduce dosage if phlegm is excessive. Avoid greasy and fried foods.
Shenzhu Wan (Ginseng Cinnabar Pill): Treats wind-epilepsy with great efficacy.
Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Ge Fen (Concha Tridacnatis), Zhusha (Cinnabaris, equal parts).
Grind into fine powder. Form pills with pig heart blood, size of Sophora seeds. Take thirty pills per dose, washed down with gold/silver decoction, after meals.
Hupo Shouxing Wan (Amber Longevity Star Pill) [from *Ju Fang*: uses 1 jin Tiannanxing, 2 liang Zhusha, 1 liang Hupo, no pig heart blood].
Tiannanxing (Arisomatis Tuber, 1 jin): Dig a pit two chi deep. Burn five jin of charcoal until red-hot inside the pit. Remove charcoal, sweep clean, pour one sheng of good wine over it. Immediately place Tiannanxing into the hot pit, cover quickly with a basin, seal with mud. Leave overnight, then remove, dry, and grind into powder.
Hupo (Amber, 4 liang, separately ground), Zhusha (Cinnabaris, 1 liang, ground and water-ground, use half as coating).
Mix evenly. Use three pig heart juices and ginger juice to make wheat paste, stirring until thick and sticky. Mix blood into powder, form pills like sesame seeds. Take fifty pills per dose, washed down with Ginseng decoction on an empty stomach, three times daily.
Tingli Kujiu Tang (Descurainia Vinegar Decoction): Treats mania, irritability, red face, and sore throat.
Kujiu (Vinegar, 1.5 sheng), Tingli (Descurainiae Fructus, 1 he), Sheng Ai Zhi (Fresh Mugwort Juice, or 0.5 sheng cooked mugwort juice if fresh is unavailable).
Decoct to obtain seven he. Divide into three doses.
Xieqing Wan (see Headache); Daochi San (see Fever).
Miaoxiang Wan: Treats epidemic cold damage in men and women, resolves five poisons, treats tidal fever and accumulated heat, and various pediatric convulsive epilepsy diseases.
Badou (Crotonis Fructus, 315 grains, peel and remove heart/membrane, cook thoroughly, grind to flour-like consistency), Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis, ground), Longnao (Borneolum Syntheticum, ground), Nifen (Calomel, ground), Shexiang (Moschus, ground, each 3 liang), Chensha (Cinnabaris, flown and ground, 9 liang), Jinbo (Folium Aurum, ground, 90 pieces).
Grind together evenly. Melt six liang of refined yellow wax with three parts white honey, mix well, and form pills. Each liang of powder makes thirty pills. For tidal fever/accumulated heat, cold-damage chest binding, jaundice, manic running/restlessness, dry mouth/red face, constipation: wash down one pill with Dahuang/Gancao decoction. For toxic diarrhea with blood: wash down with Huanglian decoction mixed with a little Nifen. For alcohol, food, tea, qi, or wind-phlegm stagnation/vomiting: wash down with Nifen, Longnao, and rice drink. For toxic hematemesis, severe distress/fainting: wash down with fresh human blood for immediate cure. For pediatric convulsions/wind-stroke/phlegm flooding/spasms: wash down with Longnao, Nifen, and honey water, two pills the size of mung beans. For food accumulation/heat, red cheeks/irritability/restless sleep/crying/diarrhea: wash down with Gold/Silver/Mint decoction, adjusting dosage by age. For adults/women with cold-damage/epidemics where Yin/Yang Qi are knotted, latent toxins in Stomach causing panting/restlessness/red eyes, irregular attacks persisting 7-8 days to half a month despite medical uncertainty/confused pulse: take one pill (or divide into three). Wash down with Longnao, Nifen, and rice drink (approx. half a cup). Goal is to expel all evil toxins/phlegm and the pill itself. To retrieve the effect, wash clean, wrap in oil paper, bury in ground for five days, then retrieve for reuse in adults/children. One pill can save three people before becoming ineffective. To accelerate action, prick a hole with needle, soak in cold water briefly before taking.
Wusheng Wan (Five Births Pill) [passed down by Li Zhongnan, effective for epilepsy]:
Tiannanxing (Arisomatis Tuber), Banxia (Pinelliae Tuber), Chuanwu (Aconiti Radix Lateralis Preparata), Baifuzi (Typhonii Rhizoma, each 1 liang), Dadou (Sojae Semen Album, peeled and weighed, 2.5 qian).
Grind into fine powder. Drop water to form pills, size of sesame seeds. Take 3-5 pills per dose, max 7 pills, washed down with ginger decoction.
Another Wusheng Wan: Treats wind-epilepsy.
Chuanwutou (Aconiti Radix), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, both raw, peel and remove navel), Tiannanxing (Arisomatis Tuber, raw), Banxia (Pinelliae Tuber, raw), Ganshengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, each half liang).
Grind into fine powder. Make paste with vinegar-boiled soybean juice, form pills size of Sophora seeds. Take five pills per dose, washed down with cold wine, at any time.
Shengyang Tang (Raise Yang Decoction): Treats Yang Qiao epilepsy. Foot Taiyang Qi descends; suitable to raise Yang Qi.
Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba, 8 qian, do not remove joints), Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix, 1.5 liang), Fangfeng Gen (Saposhnikoviae Radix, 8 qian, honey-fried), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 5 qian).
Take 3 qian per dose. With five large bowls of water, decoct to one bowl. Strain, drink slightly warm. Take when fasting after residual food digestion. Avoid wind/cold for 1-2 hours for effect.
Noupo Wan (see Regurgitation).
Miaogong Wan: Treats all types of epilepsy, without exception.
Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos), Muxiang (Costi Radix), Chenxiang (Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum, each half liang), Ruxiang (Olibanum, ground), Shexiang (Moschus, separately ground), Xiongdan (Ursi Bile, each 2.5 qian), Baidingxiang (Streblae Semen, 300 grains), Qingfen (Calomel, 4.5 qian), Xionghuang (Realgar, ground), Qingpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride, white pith removed), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Huhuanglian (Picrorhizae Rhizoma, each half liang), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Heiqianni (Pharbitidis Semen, stir-fried), Jing Sanleng (Sparganii Rhizoma, baked), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried), Peng'ezhu (Curcumae Aromatica Rhizoma), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, white pith removed), Leiwan (Vermifugum), Heshi (Carpesii Fructus, each 1 liang), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 1.5 liang), Chixiaodou (Phaseoli Semen Rubrum, 300 grains), Badou (Crotonis Fructus, 7 grains, peel/remove heart/membrane/oil).
Grind into fine powder. Use 1.5 liang buckwheat flour to make paste, mix evenly. Each liang of powder makes ten pills. Coat with 1 liang water-ground Zhusha. Dry in shade. Take one pill per dose. Soak in warm water overnight, discard water, dissolve in warm water, take on empty stomach. Pediatric dosage adjusted. Ten-year illness cured in one dose. If not cured, repeat in 3-5 days. Severe cases require no more than three doses.
Case: A man addicted to wine had epilepsy for 20 years. After one dose, expelled a worm approx. 4-5 cun long with scales; cured.
Jinkui Fengyin Tang (*Golden Cabinet* Wind-Guiding Decoction): Clears heat from epilepsy.
Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Longgu (Dissolved Dragon Bone, each 4 liang), Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus, bark removed, 3 liang), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried), Muli (Ostreae Concha, calcined, each 2 liang), Ningshuishi (Stalactitum), Huashi (Talcum), Chishizhi (Halloysit Rubrum), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum), Zhi Yingshi (Psilomeli Pulvis), Baishizhi (Halloysit Alba, each 6 liang).
Twelve ingredients. Pound to coarse powder, sieve. Store in leather bag. Take a pinch (three fingers). Boil in three sheng of well-water for three boils. Strain. Warm drink one sheng. Shenshi says: For adult wind-guiding and pediatric convulsive epilepsy with frequent spasms (dozens of times daily) untreatable by other doctors, this heat-clearing formula is effective; hence named Wind-Guiding.
Formula for Treating Epilepsy:
Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, 2 liang), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Zhuya Zaojiao (Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus Spina), Yujin (Curcumae Radix), Mingfan (Alumen, each 1 liang), Wugong (Scolopendra, yellow-leg and red-leg one each).
Six ingredients. Grind to fine powder. Make pills with steamed dough, size of Sophora seeds. Take fifteen pills with clear tea on empty stomach. Cure root in one month.
Shenyang Dan (Divine Response Pill): Treats all epilepsy.
High-quality Chensha (Cinnabaris, any amount).
Grind finely. Mix with pig heart blood. Wrap in steamed dough, steam until cooked. Remove while hot, form pills size of sesame seeds. Take one pill per dose, washed down with Renshen decoction, after meals and before bed.
Zhuzi Chensha Dan (Pearl Cinnabar Pill): Treats wind-epilepsy chronic and unresponsive.
Shanyao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Yuanzhi (Polygalae Radix), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Zhi Yingshi (Psilomeli Pulvis), Fushen (Poria with Hostwood), Hugu (Pantheris Os), Hu Jing (Pantheris Bulbus), Longchi (Dent Draconis), Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus), Shichangpu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma), Danshen (Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma, each 2.5 qian), Zhenzhu Mo (Margarita Pulvis, 4 fen), Chensha (Cinnabaris, 2 qian, ground, used as coating).
Grind to powder. Form pills with wheat paste, size of sesame seeds, coat with Zhusha. Take 30-50 pills per dose, washed down with Gold/Silver decoction, three times daily. Avoid fish, meat, wet noodles, and wind-aggravating foods.
Formula for Wind-Epilepsy and Heart-Wind Disease:
Take three stalks of Zaojiao, crush, filter juice, boil to thick paste. Spread on paper, sun-dry. Cut into pieces the size of small coins (two leaves). Wash with warm grain water and swallow. Remove paper. Instill half a clam-shell volume into each nostril. Saliva will flow shortly. Bite a chopstick to drain saliva completely. Then use:
Zheshi (Haematitum, raw, 1 liang), Baifan (Alumen, raw, 2 liang).
Grind to powder. Make pills with thin paste, size of sesame seeds. Take thirty pills per dose, washed down with cold water, at any time. Stop when effective.
Method for Boiling Ricinus Seeds: Treats all epilepsy, regardless of duration.
Bimazi (Ricini Semen, kernel only, 2 liang), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, 1 liang, cut bean-sized).
Use silver/copper vessel. Add one large bowl of water. Simmer slowly. Refill water when dry. Boil for three days and two nights. Remove Huanglian. Use only Ricinus kernels. Air-dry out of sunlight. Cut with bamboo knife into four segments each. Take five kernels (twenty segments) per dose, washed down with Jingjie decoction, after meals, twice daily. (Note: Those taking Ricinus must avoid beans for life; ingestion causes abdominal distension and death.)
Yinbo Wan (Silver Foil Pill): Treats wind-epilepsy chronic and unhealed, increasing wind-phlegm, triggered by heat.
Yinbo (Folium Argenti, 30 pieces), Tiefen (Plumbum Subnitricum, ground), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, radicle removed), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, radicle removed), Chuanshengma (Polygoni Cuspidati Rhizoma), Sheng Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix), Xijiaoxie (Rhinocerotis Cornu, shaved), Longchi (Dent Draconis, ground), Xiongdan (Ursi Bile, each 1 liang), Wushe Rou (Zaocys Flesh, wine-soaked), Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, heart removed, each 1.5 liang).
Grind to fine powder. Knead with refined honey 300-500 times. Form pills size of Sophora seeds. Take 20-30 pills per dose, washed down with warm water after meals, twice daily.
Niuhuang Wan (Calculus Bovis Pill): Treats wind-epilepsy with incomplete spirit, persistent phlegm-saliva in chest/diaphragm, inability to vomit, stifling sensation and Qi obstruction.
Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis, ground), Shexiang (Moschus, each half liang, ground), Hu Jing (Pantheris Bulbus, one pair), Qianglang (Scarabaeus, head/legs/wings removed), Xijiaoxie (Rhinocerotis Cornu, shaved), Anshixiang (Benzoinum), Duhuo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix, radicle removed), Fushen (Poria with Hostwood, wood removed), Yuanzhi (Polygalae Radix, heart removed), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, each 1 liang, honey-fried), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, radicle removed, 1.5 liang), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, radicle removed), Tiefen (Plumbum Subnitricum, ground), Zhusha (Cinnabaris, water-ground), Longchi (Dent Draconis, each 2 liang, ground).
Grind to fine powder, mix evenly. Knead with refined honey 500-700 times. Form pills size of Sophora seeds. Take thirty pills per dose, washed down with Jingjie decoction, at any time.
Shengjin Wan (Victorious Gold Pill): Treats wind-epilepsy with fright, intermittent dizziness/tidal spasms, foaming at mouth, sudden collapse, loss of consciousness.
Tiannanxing (Arisomatis Tuber, ginger-processed), Zaojiao (Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus, skin/strings removed), Chuanwutou (Aconiti Radix, raw), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma, weeds removed), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix, radicle removed), Weilingxian (Circaeae Herba), Heshouwu (Polygoni Multiflori Radix), Baifan (Alumen, calcined), Baijiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus, stir-fried), Wushe (Zaocys, wine-soaked, each 1 liang), Jingjisui (Schizonepetae Spica), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, each 2 liang).
Grind to fine powder. Make pills with wine paste, size of sesame seeds. Take twenty pills per dose, washed down with warm wine after meals, twice daily.
Cixiong Wan (Yin-Yang Pill, aka Liu Zhen Dan): Treats wind-epilepsy with loss of reason, chaotic state resembling death, or sounds like ox/horse/chicken/sheep/pig, organ pulling, Qi contention, spasms, foaming.
Cihuang (Orpiment, leaf type), Xionghuang (Realgar, water-ground), Zhenzhu (Margarita, each 1 liang), Qian (Plumbum, 2 liang, boiled to flakes), Zhusha (Cinnabaris, half liang, water-ground), Shuiyin (Hydrargyrum, 1.5 liang).
Grind to fine powder, mix extremely evenly. Form pills with refined honey, size of Sophora seeds. Take 3-5 pills per dose, washed down with Ginger/Jujube decoction.
Hu Jing Wan (Panther Eye Pill): Treats epileptic tidal spasms, spirit confusion, restlessness, dry mouth craving water, occasional delirium.
Hu Jing (Pantheris Bulbus, one pair), Xijiaoxie (Rhinocerotis Cornu, shaved), Yuanzhi (Polygalae Radix, heart removed), Zhizi Ren (Gardeniae Semen, 1 liang each), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 1 liang).
Grind to fine powder. Form pills with refined honey, size of mung beans. Take twenty pills per dose, washed down with warm wine, after meals.
Kongxian Wan (Phlegm-Control Pill): Treats chronic epilepsy unresponsive to treatment, stubborn phlegm gathering/scattering irregularly, generating various symptoms.
Chuanwu (Aconiti Radix Lateralis Preparata, raw), Banxia (Pinelliae Tuber, hot water wash), Baijiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus, stir-fried, each half liang, cut, soaked in ginger juice overnight), Quanxie (Scorpio, seven pieces, stir-fried), Tiefen (Plumbum Subnitricum, 3 qian, ground), Gansui (Euphorbiae Kansui Radix, 2.5 qian, wrapped in flour and baked).
Grind to fine powder. Make paste with fresh ginger juice, form pills size of mung beans, coat with Zhusha. Take fifteen pills per dose, washed down with ginger decoction after meals. Avoid Gancao.
