The gravel in the crane's gizzard (stomach), when ground and taken orally, treats gu poison and evil pathogens. Current cranes come in black, yellow, white, and grey varieties. Those that are white are considered superior; others are inferior. *The Travels of Emperor Mu* records: "When the Emperor arrived at Jusu Ershi, [someone] offered white crane blood to drink by the Emperor." The annotation states: "Crane blood enhances human Qi and strength." (Newly supplemented)
Crow

Current examination of Chen Cangqi's *Ben Cao* states: "Cuckoo starling treats hiccups; after moxibustion treatment, eating it cures pediatric cases within one dose. Those obtained in the twelfth lunar month primarily treat chronic cough." (*Tang Ben Zhu* attached previously). Ministers Yuxi et al. respectfully note: Rihua Zi states: "Treats cough and hiccups, directs Qi downward; roast and eat. It is said to confer spiritual connection. Mix eye juice with milk to drop into eyes, greatly clarifying vision."

To treat the aforementioned conditions, those harvested on Lar Day in the twelfth lunar month are best and effective. Those not harvested on Lar Day are unsuitable for use.
