Nature: Neutral, non-toxic. Resolves drug toxicity, gu poison (a type of traditional Chinese toxic substance), and symptoms such as carbuncles and thirst triggered by the activation of mineral drugs; eliminates blood stasis from traumatic injuries; stops manic delirium, convulsions, and epilepsy caused by heat; unblocks menstruation; resolves wind-induced edema; treats strangury (painful urinary dysfunction). All are administered orally after grinding with water into a liquid. For injuries caused by snakes, insects, bees, scorpions, wild wolves, dogs, or poisoned arrows, apply the powdered medicine externally for good effect. (Newly supplemented content appears in *Ri Hua Zi Ben Cao*.)
Yang Wenhua's *Tan Yan* records: There is a "Bodhisattva Stone" produced in Emei Mountain, Jiazhou, which people often collect. Its color is crystal clear and white, resembling the wolf-tooth stone from Mount Tai or the rock crystal from Shangrao Prefecture. When exposed to sunlight, it displays five colors, resembling the circular halo around the Buddha's head.
*Yan Yi* states: The Bodhisattva Stone originates from Emei Mountain. It is clear and bright like refined quartz, emitting five-colored light when illuminated by the sun, resembling the circular halo behind the statue of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva in Emei Mountain, hence its name. It is rarely used by physicians today.
Posuo Stone
Its main efficacy is resolving all types of drug toxicity and treating fever, chest oppression, and headache caused by miasma epidemics. It is produced in the South Sea. Those collected by Hu merchants without spots and containing golden stars, ground into a milky liquid, are considered superior grade. There is also "Bean-Spotted Stone," which can also resolve toxins but with less potency. Additionally, there is "E Lv" (a mineral), which has textures and turns copper-colored when ground. People often use this to counterfeit the genuine article, which is not authentic. To verify authenticity, grind it with water into a liquid and drip it onto fresh blood from a rooster's comb; if it dissolves into water, it is genuine. (This is commonly known as Moshuo Stone. Attached here for reference.)
*Tu Jing* provides detailed records under the entry for "Wumingyi."
*Yan Yi* states: Posuo Stone is now referred to as Moshuo Stone. Stones that are pale greenish-blue with slight golden stars are excellent; when ground, they resemble pale milk and have a bland taste. There is also Bean-Spotted Stone, which resembles this stone but has black spots on the surface and lacks golden stars.
Nature: Cool, non-toxic. Treats throat obstruction (hou bi), toothache, mouth ulcers, and severe sores, tinea, and scabies. Mix with roasted carp powder and take orally to treat intestinal wind bleeding (blood in stool due to wind-heat). (Newly supplemented content appears in *Ri Hua Zi Ben Cao*.)
*Tu Jing* provides detailed records under the entry for "Fan Shi."
*Ji Yan Fang* records: For treating pediatric malnutrition (gan qi) that is difficult to cure. Divine Effect Pill: Calcinate Lv Fan (Green Alum) until red-hot over fire, remove, quench in strong vinegar, and calcinate again. Repeat this process three times. Grind finely, mix with jujube pulp to form pills the size of mung beans, and swallow with warm water. Take two to three doses per day.
