产后颠症，狂言谵语，或乍见鬼神，甚有不避亲疏，不知羞耻者，其间有血虚神不守舍者，有败血未尽误补
而然者，有心脾本虚，妄思妄想致心神不宁者。治法用安神定志丸倍人参加归芎主之，佐以归脾汤。予制定神汤，
每用取效，此皆安神补虚之意也。盖初知瘀未清，早用失笑丸、花蕊散逐去败瘀，则新血自生，安有颠狂之变？
此为姑息错治者成耳。病久名曰失心症，有绵延数载者，治法惟白金丸，真妙也。
定神汤
人参（一钱） 熟地（三钱） 当归（二钱） 茯神（二钱） 附子（五分） 肉桂（三分） 泽兰（三钱）
郁金（一钱） 龙齿（八分） 橘红（八分）
用生铁秤砣烧红，淬水煎服。
失笑散 花蕊散（见前胞衣不下）。
白金丸（经验方曰∶妇人失心，病狂惊忧，痰结血于心络窍者，服之神效，屡用奇验）
真川郁金（七两） 明矾（三两）
二味为末，薄糊叠法为丸，每服五十丸，开水下。一方用薄荷汤为丸。
安神定志丸 归脾汤（俱见前）。
琥珀地黄丸
此方治产后偶感，恶露斩然不行，憎寒发热，状如疟疾，昼明白夜谵语，即与热入血室同，皆血分病，用此
丸极妙，若攻痰则误矣。
琥珀（另研） 延胡索（糯米炒） 当归（各一两） 蒲黄（二两，炒） 生地（一斤，捣烂绞汁，以汁浸
生姜渣晒干） 生姜（一斤，捣烂绞汁，以汁浸生地渣晒干） 共为末，炼蜜为丸，弹子大，开水化下一丸。
又一方治败血上冲，发热狂言脉虚大者。
生地 丹皮 荷叶各（二钱）
调真蒲黄末（二钱），生用。
产后癫症，表现为胡言乱语、说梦话，或者突然看见鬼神，严重的甚至不避亲疏、不知羞耻。这种情况中，有的是因为血虚导致心神不能安守其舍；有的是因为有败血（瘀血）未尽，误用补药而导致的；有的是因为心脾本来虚弱，因胡思乱想导致心神不宁。治疗方法使用安神定志丸，倍用人参，加入当归、川芎来主治，同时辅助使用归脾汤。我制定了定神汤，每次使用都能取得疗效，这其中的意思都是安神和补虚。大概如果一开始就知道瘀血未清，尽早使用失笑丸、花蕊散来驱逐败瘀，那么新血自然会产生，怎么会有癫狂的变故呢？这是姑息养错治造成的罢了。病程久了叫做失心症，有的绵延数年，治疗方法只有白金丸，真是奇妙啊。
定神汤

Postpartum mania is characterized by incoherent speech, delirium, or suddenly seeing ghosts and spirits. In severe cases, patients may not distinguish between relatives and strangers or feel any sense of shame. Among these cases, some are due to blood deficiency causing the spirit to fail to reside within its abode; some result from residual foul blood (stasis) that was mistakenly treated with tonics; others arise from inherent deficiency of the Heart and Spleen, leading to restless thoughts and an unsettled Heart Spirit. The treatment method involves using Anshen Dingzhi Wan (Calming the Spirit and Stabilizing Will Pill) with doubled Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen), added with Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui) and Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong) as the main prescription, assisted by Guipi Tang (Restore the Spleen Decoction). I formulated Dingshen Tang (Stabilize the Spirit Decoction), which has been effective in every use, embodying the principles of calming the spirit and tonifying deficiency. Generally, if one recognizes early on that stasis has not cleared, and employs Shixiao Wan (Pain-Relieving Pill) and Huarui San (Flower Coral Powder) early to expel the foul stasis, new blood will generate naturally, preventing such manic transformations. These conditions arise only from negligent and incorrect treatments. When the disease persists for a long time, it is called Shixin Syndrome (Loss of Heart Mind), which may last for several years. The treatment is solely with Baijin Wan (White Gold Pill), which is truly miraculous.

Use a red-hot iron steelyard weight, quench it in water, and decoct this water for administration.

Alumen (Mingfan, 3 liang)
Grind both ingredients into powder, mix with thin paste, and form pills using the stacking method. Take 50 pills each time, washed down with boiled water. Another method uses Mint Decoction to form pills.

Hupo Dihuang Wan
This formula treats postpartum accidental pathogenic invasion where lochia stops abruptly, accompanied by aversion to cold and fever, resembling malaria. The patient is lucid during the day but delirious at night. This is identical to Heat Entering the Blood Chamber (Re Ru Xue Shi), both being diseases of the Blood aspect. Using this pill is extremely effective; attacking phlegm would be a mistake.

Pollen Typhae (Puhuang, 2 liang, stir-fried)
Rehmanniae Radix (Dihuang, 1 jin, pounded and juiced; soak ginger residue in the juice and dry)
Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Shengjiang, 1 jin, pounded and juiced; soak Rehmannia residue in the juice and dry)
Grind all into powder, refine honey to form pills the size of a bullet. Dissolve one pill in boiled water and take.
Another formula treats foul blood rushing upward, presenting with fever, incoherent speech, and a large, deficient pulse.
