The manifestation of Jiaju (Nail Fungus/Onychomycosis with Ulceration) involves thickened skin around the wound and cracked, peeling nails. The wound is also itchy and painful, often prompting scratching, which leads to exudate discharge. Initially, these are caused by Wind pathogen disrupting the flow of Blood and Qi, and there are parasites within the wound.
The manifestation of Cha Ju (a type of carbuncle or ulcer resembling oak gall) presents as hidden, red, raised papules, resembling the fruit of the current oak tree. This is also caused by Wind pathogen lodging in the skin, resulting from changes in Blood and Qi. There are parasites within the wound, accompanied by itching and pain, with intermittent swelling and fluid discharge.
This condition arises from Damp-Heat or Wind-Damp pathogens lodging in the skin, causing alterations in Blood and Qi, leading to hidden papules and ulcers that are itchy but not painful; hence it is named Wan Ju (Stubborn Carbuncle).
Cheng Ju (Cheng Carbuncle) refers to various miscellaneous sores complicated by Wind-Damp, suffering from intense itching. Frequent scratching and rubbing cause the lesion to erode and spread wide. If it persists without healing, parasites may develop. [Text fragment]
Yueshi Chuang (Moon-Eating Sore) occurs between the ears and nose, on the face, and on the sides of various orifices in the lower body, eroding deeply into tendons and bones. The sore intensifies at the beginning of the lunar month and subsides at the end, as it rises and falls with the moon; thus it is named Yueshi Chuang.
Additionally, sores appearing below the ears in children are also called Yueshi. Folklore claims that if a child points at the moon, they will contract this sore. Sores arising in various orifices contain parasites; if chronic and unhealed, they transform into [text fragment].
Tianshang Bing (Heavenly Disease) is characterized by dullness and obstruction of the spirit, heaviness of the body, sores in the lower body, and upward erosion of the five Zang organs. Severe cases can be fatal. People avoid naming it directly, calling it Tianshang Bing instead. This is due to deficiency of the Fu and Zang organs, where parasites in the intestines and stomach move and erode the five Zang organs.
Tian Chuang (Sweet Sore) appears on the face, is neither itchy nor painful, and constantly discharges thick, fatty fluid. New sores form wherever the fluid flows; it can also appear on the body. It is common in children. It is caused by the struggle between Wind-Damp and Blood and Qi. Because it is neither itchy nor painful, it is named Tian Chuang.
Jinyin Chuang (Spreading Eczema/Ulcer) results from Wind-Heat in the Heart system manifesting in the skin and muscles. It begins small, initially itchy then becoming painful and forming sores with discharge, eroding muscle tissue. The spread gradually widens until it covers the whole body. If the sore starts from the mouth and spreads to the limbs, the prognosis is mild; if it starts from the limbs and spreads to the mouth, the prognosis is severe. Due to its gradual spreading nature, it is named Jinyin.
