Zhu disease refers to illnesses caused by pathogenic factors lingering and stagnating in the body. These conditions typically arise from a deficiency of essential qi (vital energy), allowing pathogens to invade, lodge in the sinews and vessels, spread to the zang-fu organs, and penetrate deeply into the bone marrow. The condition persists for a long time without healing, with symptoms appearing intermittently, causing mental confusion and chest oppression, and resulting in pain throughout the entire body. When triggered by wind pathogen, it is called Feng Zhu (Wind Zhu Disease). When contracted through mourning and weeping at funerals, influenced by the "death qi," it is called Shi Zhu (Corpse Zhu Disease). When struck by "ghostly pathogens," it is called Gui Zhu (Ghost Zhu Disease). Among these, when the pain of Feng Zhu wanders unpredictably and comes and goes irregularly, it is further referred to as Zou Zhu (Wandering Zhu Disease). There are also other types named after imbalances in qi and blood, thermal disorders, fatigue, or diarrhea; although their specific manifestations differ, they all share the common characteristic of pathogenic stagnation that does not disperse. Detailed descriptions can be found in medical texts such as *Qianjin Fang*, *Waitai Miyao*, and *Shengji Zonglu*.
