Zhongting (CV17) and Tinggong (EX-HN24), Sikong (EX-HN25) and Yintang (EX-HN3), the broad areas at the corners of the forehead: if pathological changes occur here, one can determine survival or death. Cyanosis or blackness indicates severe convulsive disease (Jingfeng); if the skin is mild and lustrous, the condition is lighter. The acupoints must not be depressed or damaged; black lips are the most difficult to treat. Extreme cyanosis requires urgent concern, and a dim appearance is also distressing. This is the area of Mingmen (GV4), requiring skilled judgment by the physician.
Cyanosis in the face and eyes indicates Liver disease; redness indicates Heart disease; yellowness indicates Spleen disease; whiteness indicates Lung disease; blackness indicates Kidney disease.
Method 1: Pinch the Heart Meridian; Method 2: Pinch Laogong (PC8); Method 3: Push up San Guan (Three Passes). This method is used for fever and sweating. If sweat does not come, rub and pinch Er Feng Men (Two Gate Doors) again until slight sweat appears on the palm, then stop.
Method 4: Pinch Pi Tu (Spleen Earth). Bending the finger and turning left constitutes tonification; straight pushing constitutes sedation. It is used for poor appetite, emaciation, visible green veins on the abdomen, sallow complexion, and limb abnormalities.
Method 5: Pinch Da Chang (Large Intestine). Reverse push into the tiger's mouth to stop watery diarrhea and dysentery; use for abdominal distension. For bloody dysentery, tonify Shen Shui (Kidney Water); for white discharge predominant, push San Guan (Three Passes).
Method 6: Pinch Fei Jing (Lung Meridian). From Li Gong (Li Palace) to Qian Gong (Qian Palace), light pressure in the middle and heavy pressure at both ends. Used for cough with phlegm, coma, and vomiting.
Method 7: Pinch Shen Jing (Kidney Meridian). Pinch Xiao Heng Wen (Small Transverse Crease); Retire Liu Fu (Six Palaces). Treats constipation, dark and scanty urination, abdominal distension, rapid breathing, coma, and yellow stool. Use cooling methods for yellow stool.
Method 8: Push Si Heng Wen (Four Transverse Creases) to harmonize upper and lower Qi and Blood. Used for emaciation, anorexia for milk/formula, frequent hand and foot spasms, head tilting to one side, damp-heat in intestines and stomach, and eyes rolling upward.
Method 9: Pinch Zong Jin (General Tendon); pass through Tian He Shui (River of Heaven). Clears Heart Fire. Used for oral ulcers, generalized tidal fever, night crying, frequent limb spasms, and removes tidal fever from San Jiao (Triple Burner), Six Palaces, and Wu Xin (Five Hearts: two palms, two soles, and chest).
Method 10: Yun Shui Ru Tu (Move Water into Earth) is used when water is excessive and earth is dry, leading to indigestion of grains. Yun Tu Ru Shui (Move Earth into Water) is used when Spleen Earth is too strong and Water and Fire fail to interact (Ji Ji). If a child has red eyes but good appetite, it is fire-dry earth; use Yun Shui Ru Tu to moisten earth and overcome fire. If there is dry mouth, eyes rolling up, and dark scanty urine, it is earth-excessive and water-depleted; use Yun Tu Ru Shui to restore balance.
Method 11: Pinch Xiao Tian Xin (Little Heavenly Heart). Used for Tian Diao Jing Feng (Heavenly Hanging Convulsion), eyes rolling up and tilting sideways, and blocked Kidney Water.
Method 12: Fen Yin Yang (Divide Yin and Yang) stops diarrhea and dysentery; used for alternating chills and fever over the body, abdominal distension, and vomiting.
Method 13: Yun Ba Gua (Move Eight Trigrams) removes chest and abdominal fullness/stuffiness, vomiting, hiccups/belching, and poor appetite.
Method 14: Yun Wu Jing (Move Five Meridians) activates Qi of the Five Zang Organs. Used for abdominal distension, disharmony of upper and lower Qi and Blood, limb spasms, alternating chills and fever, expelling wind, and removing abdominal borborygmus.
Method 15: Rub Ban Men (Ban Gate) removes shortness of breath, Qi attack, hiccups, pain, vomiting, and distension.
Method 16: Rub Laogong (PC8) moves Heart fire and induces sweating; do not use lightly.
Method 17: Push Heng Men to Ban Men stops vomiting; push Ban Men to Heng Men stops diarrhea. If there is noise in the throat, pinch with the thumb.
Method 18: Zong Wei (General Position) is the ancestor of all meridians; pinching here is effective for various conditions. For severe cough, pinch one segment of the middle finger. For excessive phlegm, pinch one segment of the back of the hand. At the remainder of the fingernail tendons, pinching the inner side stops vomiting, and pinching the outer side stops diarrhea.
