Twenty breaths for twenty persons, one tonification and three circular motions to make the Qi uniform; if three tonifications and ten circular motions are performed, women will have beautiful faces and healthy bodies.
When empty (deficient) Qi moves, do not excessively restrict it; gather the true Qi so they remain distinct. When solid (excess) Qi is extended and lifted, repeatedly gather it; the Qi will flow naturally, which should accord with principle.
If the Qi floats on the skin and urgently raises Yang, if there is a floating and slippery quality, it is good for the Qi to descend. If there is a floating quality but the interior is choppy (se), use the flicking method; flicking dispels choppiness and expels evil calamities.
Slippery Qi facilitates raising Yang but also requires raising Yin; pressing, lifting, rubbing, and trembling, pressing as if divine. If the needle feels slippery, extend and lift seven or eight times; if too much Qi arrives, the Qi may become uneven.
The methods for raising Yang and moving Qi have been applied; if moving Qi fails and the needle feels choppy, urgently flick dozens of times and scrape ten times; the choppy Qi within the needle will naturally circulate.
If the Qi is tight, performing only one tonification treats the evil; frequently scrape and search to remove the tightness. If scraping and searching do not remove the tightness, do not force the Qi to penetrate thoroughly when there is no disease.
If the Qi is minute and fine and felt within the needle, external looseness with internal tightness characterizes this minuteness; if urgent minuteness and urgent trembling with pressing occur, once trembling and pressing bring the Qi, it is convenient to move the needle.
Square circular motions for seventy-seven cycles of Qi, extending, lifting, and turning like a ring; trembling and pressing three to five times, gathering movements bring Qi causing numbness.
Raise Yang by pressing several times; half-raising and half-lifting allows the Qi to open. For obese persons, use the rotating needle method; frequently eliminating evil Qi prevents wind from coming.
Scrape and press for seven tonifications; search, rub, and massage again. Add dozens of searches; all diseases are regulated, and Qi and Blood harmonize.
For men, withdrawing the needle has spiritual efficacy; urgently press and rub with precise intent; lift twice more until the skin rises; sit and observe the patient gaining peace.
For women, withdrawing the needle reveals deficiency and excess; with little blood and abundant Yang, blood circulation is obstructed; add urgent rubbing and pressing to three tonifications, thereby allowing the patient to see full recovery.
In spring, moxa is inserted one-third cun; in summer, four to five fen; in autumn, five fen plus six fen waiting for winter; at Winter Solstice, one Yang arises using four to five fires; Three Yang uses three fen opening to four to five.
Raising Yang in the lower part makes two Qi ascend; again raise Yang to the upper part; urgently take the Qi up and stop breathing method; rub, scrape, and lift to hasten Yang. Again stop breathing thirteen times; descending Qi raises Yang with trembling urgency; urgently rub and press so Qi descends with trembling; diseases of the head naturally recover.
Diseases of the head first use rubbing; rub several times to obtain heat and harmony; then raise Yin one or two times; again when lowering Qi, use rubbing and massaging. Frequently stop breathing dozens of times; then raise Yang and add rubbing. Regardless of gender, use generally; again raise Yin and lower Qi extensively.
