Five types of Gu poison transmission, sudden evil affecting the inability to eat: Acupoints Zhongwan (CV12), Zhaohai (KI6).
When a person suddenly feels discomfort in the abdomen after eating. Or becomes irritable and restless as if mad, experiencing severe pain in the heart and abdomen with an urge to vomit but unable to do so, suddenly collapsing into faintness. The face and eyes appear blue-black, limbs are cold and reversed. Saliva sinks when dropped into water, or chewing raw beans does not reveal a fishy smell, or chewing raw alum does not feel astringent. This indicates poisoning by Gu (Gu poison).

Accumulation of Qi under the hypochondrium: Acupoints Qimen (LR14), Zhangmen (LR13), Chize (LU5) [for treating Lung accumulation], Xingjian (LR2) [for treating Liver accumulation].
Fuliang disease: Pain circling the navel: Acupoint Zhongwan (CV12).
Ben Tun Qi (Rushing Pig Qi): Qi rushes upward from the lower abdomen to the chest, causing abdominal pain: Acupoints Shenshu (BL23), Zhangmen (LR13), Qihai (CV6), Guanyuan (CV4), Zhongji (CV3).
Pi Ku (Plaque/Mass): Obstruction of Qi is termed Pi. Due to irregular diet, causing slight rebellion of Yangming Stomach Qi, Yin-Cold Qi can take advantage to invade. Since the Spleen fails to transform and transport in time, the pathways where the Stomach collaterals emerge gradually stagnate, forming Pi Ku (Plaque/Mass). This must occur outside the intestines and stomach, between the diaphragm and membrane. Therefore, moxibustion is suitable to extract the root of these obstructed collaterals.
Acupoints Shangwan (CV13), Zhongwan (CV12), Tonggu (ST37), Qimen (LR14) [for moxibustion on masses located upper]; Shenshu (BL23), Tianshu (ST25), Zhangmen (LR13), Qihai (CV6), Guanyuan (CV4), Zhongji (CV3) [for moxibustion on masses located lower]; Pishu (BL20), Liangmen (ST21) [for moxibustion on various Pi masses].
Generally, moxibustion should proceed from upper to lower. Start with seven moxa cones (zhuang), or fourteen zhuang, then gradually increase. More moxibustion is preferable. Select appropriate acupoints from the above based on conditions.
However, there are cases where fixed acupoints cannot be strictly followed. For instance, at the hardest part of the Pi mass, or at its head or tail, or at protruding or pulsating areas. As long as the source of the meridians/collaterals is identified, moxibustion should be applied there. When the heat power reaches the area, the condensed Qi will naturally disperse gradually. The method for moxibusting Pi requires more than one session to be effective; one must select key points and repeat them again and again, applying moxibustion continuously over sessions. There will be no case that does not heal.
Additionally, treating Pi requires moxibustion on the "Pi Gen" (Root of Pi) point. Mark the midpoint below the 13th thoracic vertebra on the spine. Measure three and a half cun laterally from this point. Palpate with fingers until a slight arterial pulse is felt. This is the Pi Gen point. Moxa the left side predominantly, or both sides, or treat the opposite side (left lesion treated by right moxibustion, right lesion by left). All methods are effective.
The method of Chang Sang Jun for needling accumulations and Jia (masses): First needle the center of the mass. In severe cases, also needle the head and the tail of the mass. After needling, apply moxibustion for immediate effect (Head of mass: 14 zhuang; Center of mass: 21 zhuang; Tail of mass: 7 zhuang).
