The red vessels in the eye belong to the Blood Wheel (Xue Lun, a concept in ophthalmology relating the eyes to the five zang organs), corresponding to the Heart; the black cornea belongs to the Kidney Water Wheel (Shui Lun), located deeply; the white sclera corresponds to the Lung Qi Wheel (Qi Lun); the Liver governs the Wind Wheel (Feng Lun), whose position is also within the wheel structure; furthermore, the Flesh Wheel (Rou Lun) corresponds to the Spleen, with the upper and lower eyelids belonging to the Spleen and being influenced by the Bao and Stomach.
Five Wheels Diagram:
The outer canthus is the Blood Wheel, belonging to Heart Fire. Redness at the outer canthus indicates an Excess syndrome of the Heart; redness at the inner canthus indicates a Deficiency syndrome of the Heart. The black cornea is the Wind Wheel, belonging to Liver Wood. The pupil is the Water Wheel, belonging to Kidney Water. The white sclera is the Qi Wheel, belonging to Lung Metal. The upper and lower eyelids are the Flesh Wheel, belonging to Spleen Earth.
The Liver is the Corridor of Nourishment and Transformation: How could eye diseases related to the Kidneys have no cause? One should be cautious and concerned about excessive indulgence in alcohol and sexual activity. Do not say that bright eyes imply no major issue; observe if there is membrane obstruction enveloping both eyes.
The Gallbladder is the Corridor of Purity and Clarity: Vision is vague as if looking through fog, frequently wiping both pupils with hands. To know that cold tears flow frequently, this is due to Liver Deficiency and Gallbladder Qi attacking.
The Bladder is the Corridor of Fluids: The Bladder belongs to Water, with the Kidney as its partner; cold tears appearing indicate deficiency of the internal organ. Red vessels crisscross within the contours; without a skilled practitioner, how can recovery occur?
The Stomach is named the Corridor of Food and Drink: Dietary factors interact in the Stomach, compounded by accumulated heat attacking mutually. The eyelids gradually swell, causing redness in the eyes; if the central palace's heat is not resolved, it remains blocked.
The Mingmen (Gate of Life) is the Corridor Embracing Yang: Internally embracing True Yang is the Mingmen; seeing flowers blooming with various colors before the eyes. If one cannot tonify the Kidney and regulate Liver Qi, eye swelling crisscrosses as if rooted.
The Large Intestine is the Corridor of Transmission: The reason for transmission lies in this meridian; Lung congestion and heat invade. Only by promoting the Large Intestine according to sequence can one treat the patient when constipation affects the eyes.
The Small Intestine is the Corridor of Closing Spring: The Small Intestine organ belongs to the Guanquan Corridor; disease first transmits from the Heart. Both canthi become red, generating itching and pain; regulating the meridians naturally leads to recovery.
The Kidney belongs to the Huiyin Corridor: Vision is like looking through frosty fog; raising the head avoids the sun, what then? Urgently tonify the Kidney and abstain from sexual intercourse to avoid preventing passage through dimness.
Eight Corridors Diagram:
The Heaven Corridor belongs to the Large Intestine, function is transmission, corresponds to Lung Metal, trigram is Qian.
The Fire Corridor belongs to the Heart, function is embracing Yang, corresponds to the Mingmen meridian, trigram is Li.
The Earth Corridor belongs to the Spleen and Stomach, function is the sea of food and drink, trigram is Kun.
The Water Corridor belongs to the Kidney meridian, function is Huiyin, trigram is Kan.
The Mountain Corridor belongs to the Gallbladder meridian, function is purity, trigram is Gen.

Seven Emotions: Joy, Anger, Worry, Thought, Sorrow, Fear, Fright.
Joy harms the Heart, dispersing its Qi; Anger harms the Liver, tightening its Qi; Worry harms the Lung, gathering its Qi; Thought harms the Spleen, knotting its Qi; Sorrow harms the Pericardium, accelerating its Qi; Fear harms the Kidney, weakening its Qi; Fright harms the Gallbladder, disordering its Qi; these are the Seven Emotions.
Sweat is the fluid of the Heart, Tears are the fluid of the Liver, Saliva (Xian) is the fluid of the Spleen, Spittle (Tuo) is the fluid of the Lung, Essence (Jing) is the fluid of the Kidney; these are the fluids of the Five Zang Organs.
Bitter enters the Heart meridian, Sour enters the Liver meridian, Sweet enters the Spleen meridian, Pungent enters the Lung meridian, Salty enters the Kidney meridian.
Four Qi (Energies/Influences): Alcohol, Lust, Wealth, Qi; Wind, Cold, Summer Heat, Dampness; excess leads to disease.
