The bronze man cast in the Song Dynasty was seven chi six cun four fen tall. According to the standard where five finger-widths equal one cun, its actual height is three chi eight cun two fen. To this day, when inoculating smallpox, it is customary to measure based on the left hand for males and the right hand for females, bending the middle finger and thumb together to form a ring, taking the distance between the two corners of the inner crease as one cun. Measurements are taken according to individual limb lengths, refined further, and regardless of age, the length from the shoulder to the elbow is considered one chi seven cun. Dividing one chi seven cun by seven provides a calculation unit, cross-referenced with the middle finger for comparison; no acupoint would be deemed inappropriate through this method.

The Hand-Shaoyang Sanjiao Meridian originates at Guanchong (TE-1) and terminates at Ermen (TE-21), comprising twenty-three acupoints in total. Among these, three points are recorded for inoculation marks; other points are not marked for inoculation and thus are not listed. The numerous minor acupoints of the remaining fourteen meridians and fifteen collaterals are also not fully listed.
Xiaosuo is located below the shoulder, in the lateral arm area, below the axillary fold near the elbow. It is also said to be between the muscle divisions. Although there is no fixed cun measurement for this point, its exact location must be carefully verified.
Qinglengyuan is located two cun above the elbow, accessed by extending the arm and raising it. However, individuals vary in size, fatness, and thinness, so distinctions must be made.
Sidu is located five cun above the elbow, accessed by pulling back the shoulder. However, a more expedient method of locating it is not immediately obvious. Although the aforementioned distribution of acupoints is clear, the underlying principles require oral instruction to accurately grasp the true location of the points, thereby preventing errors during inoculation. Physicians currently practicing this art should exercise utmost caution!
