老雄鸡，用好酸醋炒之，摊极冷，七炒七摊，须防虫蚁，用清水少许加食盐蒸吃。
又方∶真石菖蒲、木通、全蝎、胭脂边各五钱，真麝一分，共为细末，用黄蜡三钱溶化
，待微冷、入前药和为丸如枣核样，瓷瓶固收。用时以棉裹塞耳，两日一换，以愈为度。
北细辛一分，石菖蒲一分，木通一分，皂荚半分，麝香五厘，共为细末，棉包塞耳中，
少顷抽出即通。
用启窍散∶熟地二两，枣皮、麦冬各一两，志肉钱半，枣仁、柏子仁、真云神各三钱，
北五味二钱，石菖蒲一钱，服四剂耳中必响，再服十剂。外用龙骨一分，雄鼠胆一枚，真麝
一厘，梅花冰片三厘，研绝细末，分作两丸，棉裹塞耳，不可取出，过一昼夜即通。
用纸捻先于耳内净脓，再加枯矾、发灰、银朱等分，麝少许，吹之。又剪鳝鱼尾血滴之
漂苍术，油头发，用大竹筒钻一小孔，装药筒内，烧药吹烟入耳，脓自流出。
如棉子大极痛，名耳定，用老鼠刺叶（又名十大功劳叶）剪取叶尖，瓦上 灰存性，研

枯矾一钱， 龙骨一钱，黄丹二钱，海螵蛸二钱，麝香二厘，干胭脂七分，烧存性。共
研细末，先用棉拭干脓水，再将药末吹入耳内，即愈。

另一处方：真石菖蒲、木通、全蝎、胭脂边各五钱，真麝香一分，共同研磨成细末，用三钱黄蜡熔化，待微冷后，加入上述药粉混合制成如枣核大小的丸剂，装入瓷瓶中密封保存。使用时以棉花包裹塞入耳中，每两日更换一次，直至痊愈为止。
北细辛一分，石菖蒲一分，木通一分，皂荚半分，麝香五厘，共同研磨成细末，用棉花包裹塞入耳中，片刻后抽出，耳窍即通。
使用启窍散：熟地黄二两，山茱萸（枣皮）、麦冬各一两，肉苁蓉（志肉）一钱半，酸枣仁、柏子仁、真云神香各三钱，北五味子二钱，石菖蒲一钱，服用四剂后耳中必闻声响，再服用十剂。外用龙骨一分，雄鼠胆一枚，真麝香一厘，梅花冰片三厘，研磨成极细粉末，分成两丸，以棉花包裹塞入耳内，不可取出，过一昼夜后耳窍即通。
用纸捻先清理耳内脓液，再加入枯矾、发灰、银朱等量，少许麝香，吹入耳内。也可剪取鳝鱼尾部的血滴入耳中。
漂洗过的苍术、油头发，用大竹筒钻一个小孔，将药物装入筒内，燃烧药物产生的烟雾吹入耳中，脓液自然流出。
若疼痛剧烈如棉子大小，名为“耳疔”，取老鼠刺叶（又名十大功劳叶），剪取叶尖，在瓦上烧存性，研磨成细末。
枯矾一钱，龙骨一钱，黄丹二钱，海螵蛸二钱，麝香二厘，干胭脂七分，烧存性。共同研磨成细末，先用棉花拭干脓水，再将药末吹入耳内，即可痊愈。
Stir-fry *Galla Chinensis* (Wubeizi, 五倍子), grind into a fine powder, mix with water to apply externally; it will heal spontaneously.
Take an old rooster, stir-fry it with good quality sour vinegar, spread it out until extremely cold. Repeat the process of stir-frying and spreading seven times. Take care to prevent insects and ants from contaminating it. Additionally, steam a small amount of clear water with salt and consume it.
Another prescription: *Acorus tatarinowii* Rhizome (Shichangpu, 石菖蒲), *Akebiae Caulis* (Mutong, 木通), *Scorpio* (Quanxie, 全蝎), and *Carmine Edge* (Yanzhibian) each five qian, real *Moschus* (Shexiang, 麝香) one fen. Grind all together into a fine powder. Melt three qian of yellow beeswax, wait until slightly cool, then mix with the aforementioned medicinal powders to form pills the size of a jujube pit. Store tightly in a porcelain bottle. When using, wrap in cotton and insert into the ear; change every two days until healed.
*Asari Radix et Rhizoma* (Beixixin, 北细辛) one fen, *Acorus tatarinowii* Rhizome (Shichangpu, 石菖蒲) one fen, *Akebiae Caulis* (Mutong, 木通) one fen, *Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus* (Zaojiao, 皂荚) half a fen, *Moschus* (Shexiang, 麝香) five li. Grind all together into a fine powder, wrap in cotton, and insert into the ear. After a short while, remove it, and the auditory orifice will open immediately.
Use Qiqiao San (Opening Orifices Powder): *Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata* (Shudi, 熟地) two liang, *Corni Fructus* (Zaopi, 枣皮), *Ophiopogonis Radix* (Maidong, 麦冬) each one liang, *Cynomorii Herba* (Zhirou, 志肉) one qian half, *Ziziphi Spinosae Semen* (Zaoren, 枣仁), *Platycladi Semen* (Baiziren, 柏子仁), real Yunshen incense each three qian, *Schisandrae Fructus* (Beiwuweizi, 北五味) two qian, *Acorus tatarinowii* Rhizome (Shichangpu, 石菖蒲) one qian. Take four doses; the ears will surely ring. Then take ten more doses. For external use: *Fossilia Ossis Maxillaris* (Longgu, 龙骨) one fen, gallbladder of a male rat one piece, real *Moschus* (Shexiang, 麝香) one li, *Borneolum Syntheticum* (Meihuabingpian, 梅花冰片) three li. Grind into an extremely fine powder, divide into two pills, wrap in cotton, and insert into the ear. Do not remove; after one day and night, the auditory orifice will open.
Use a paper twist to first clean the pus from inside the ear. Then add equal parts of *Alumen* (Kufan, 枯矾), ash of human hair (Fahui, 发灰), and *Cinnabar* (Yinzhu, 银朱), with a small amount of *Moschus* (Shexiang, 麝香). Blow the mixture into the ear. Alternatively, cut off the tail of an eel and drip its blood into the ear.
*Ampelopsis Radix* (Bailian, 白蔹) and *Phellodendri Cortex* (Chuanbai, 川柏), ground into powder in equal proportions. Mix with wine and apply topically; it will heal.
Drifted *Atractylodis Rhizoma* (Cangzhu, 苍术) and oiled human hair. Drill a small hole in a large bamboo tube, place the medicine inside the tube, burn the medicine, and blow the smoke into the ear; the pus will flow out naturally.
If there is severe pain the size of a cotton seed, it is named "Er Ding" (Ear Carbuncle). Take leaves of *Mahonia bealei* (Laoshuciye, 老鼠刺叶, also known as Shida Gonglaoye, 十大功劳叶), cut the leaf tips, calcine them on a tile until carbonized but retaining properties, and grind into a fine powder.
*Alumen* (Kufan, 枯矾) one qian, *Fossilia Ossis Maxillaris* (Longgu, 龙骨) one qian, *Lithargyrum* (Huandan, 黄丹) two qian, *Sepiae Endoconcha* (Haipiaoxiao, 海螵蛸) two qian, *Moschus* (Shexiang, 麝香) two li, dry carmine seven fen. Calcine until carbonized but retaining properties. Grind all together into a fine powder. First, wipe dry the pus and fluid with cotton, then blow the medicinal powder into the ear; it will heal.
Lychee, calcined on a tile until carbonized but retaining properties, ground into a fine powder. Mix with sesame oil and apply externally to the ear; internal carbuncles will dissipate.
