Qi Qi Tang (Seven Qi Decoction)
Discussion: All diseases arise from Qi, generally not exceeding Joy, Anger, Sorrow, Fear, Shock, Fatigue, Cold, and Heat. Joy causes Qi to slacken, Anger causes Qi to reverse, Sorrow causes Qi to consume, Fear causes Qi to descend, Shock causes Qi to disperse, Fatigue causes Qi to exhaust, Cold causes Qi to contract, Heat causes Qi to leak. From this, various changes occur. If Qi originates in one place, moving left or right, up or down, or piercing muscles like a needle or knife, preventing Qi from resting, causing abdominal fullness. This is due to fear, anger, joy, or exposure to cold and heat, where Qi remains stagnant and does not dissipate, becoming latent Qi. It flows along meridians and transmits, causing pain. Over time, it leads to oppression, constipation, and a short, choppy pulse, known as Ju Qi (Accumulated Qi). This medicine and Chen Tong San are suitable.
