Houpu (Magnolia Officinalis Bark), Huoxiangye (Patchouli Leaf), Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger), Chenjuapi (Aged Tangerine Peel), Banxia (Pinellia Tuber), Gancao (Licorice Root) (each 1 liang).
The above six herbs are pounded together until soft, dried by baking, and ground into fine powder. Each dose is 3 qian, taken with 1 zhan of water, 3 slices of fresh ginger, and 1 jujube. Decoct until reduced to 70%, strain, and take before meals.

Jingjie San / Schizonepeta Powder
If a patient feels fever gradually subsiding, followed by chills, with no fixed time for the alternation of cold and heat, limbs and joints feeling as if dislocating, pain in hands and feet, dizziness of head and eyes. This is due to weak Ying and Wei (Nutritive and Defensive) qi, susceptible to external Wind pathogen invasion.
Jingjiesui (Schizonepeta Spike), Chaihu (Bupleurum Root) (2 liang), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Baizhu (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root), Baishao (White Peony Root), Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig), Gancao (Licorice Root) (each 0.5 liang).
Grind the above herbs into coarse powder. Each dose is 5 qian, taken with 2 zhan of water, decocted to 1 zhan, strained, and taken warm. No fixed time required.

Gualou Tang / Trichosanthes Decoction
Treats Re malaria.
Chaihu (Bupleurum Root) (8 liang), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Gancao (Licorice Root) (each 3 liang), Gualougen (Trichosanthes Root) (4 liang).
Grind the above herbs into coarse powder. Each dose is 5 qian, taken with 2 zhan of water, 3 slices of fresh ginger, and 1 jujube. Decoct to 1 zhan, strain, and take warm. No fixed time required.

Miagun Wan / Cotton Roll Pill
Treats malaria.
Liuhuang (Sulfur), Guangui (Cassia Bark), Badou (Croton Seed), Baijian (Alum), Dianhua (Indigo Flower).
Equal parts of the above herbs are ground into powder. On the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, wrap in bamboo leaves, pound in a mortar a thousand times, and form pills the size of sophora seeds. Dry in shade. Suitable for all ages; pregnant women are not restricted by months.

Xiao Chaihu Tang / Minor Bupleurum Decoction
Treats Shanghan (Cold Damage) and Wenbing (Warm Diseases) with body heat, aversion to wind, stiffness of head and neck, chest fullness, hypochondriac pain, vomiting and hiccups, irritability, thirst, alternating chills and fever, yellowing of whole body and face, dysuria, and occasional constipation.
Chaihu (Bupleurum Root) (0.5 jin), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root), Renshen (Ginseng Root) (each 3 liang), Banxia (Pinellia Tuber) (2.5 liang), Gancao (Licorice Root) (3 liang).
Grind into coarse powder. Each dose is 3 qian, taken with 1.5 zhan of water, 5 slices of fresh ginger, and 1 jujube. Decoct to 70%, strain, and take hot. No fixed time required. For children, divide into two doses and adjust according to condition.

Taohua Wan / Peach Blossom Pill
Treats all types of malaria as well as red and white dysentery.
Xinpi (Red Arsenic), Fenshuang (Sublimated Arsenic Oxide) (each 1 qian), Dingfen (Lead Carbonate) (0.5 liang), Huangdan (Minium) (2 fen), Badou (Croton Seed) (7 seeds, boiled in rice vinegar until black, skin removed).
Grind uniformly, bind with glutinous rice porridge, and form pills the size of millet seeds. For red/white dysentery, take 2 pills with fresh well water. For malaria, decoct 7 peach hearts, take cold before onset for immediate relief.

Quxie Wan / Evil-Expelling Pill
Treats malaria with floating and large pulse, alternating chills and fever. Use this formula to induce vomiting. Records from Weizhou state indicate: In six types of malaria, those with more chills than fever are Phlegm-malaria; those with less fever and floating pulse are undoubtedly Phlegm disorders.
Mahuang (Ephedra Stem) (4 liang, nodes removed, boiled three times, dried), Hengshan (Dichroa Root), Gancao (Licorice Root), Dahuang (Rhubarb Root), Zhimu (Anemarrhena Rhizome) (each 2 liang).
Grind into fine powder, bind with refined honey, form pills the size of sophora seeds. Take 15 pills facing east with clear water.

Caodoukou San / Cardamom Powder
Treats chronic malaria unresponsive to treatment, mountain miasma malaria lasting years, and also treats Spleen Cold.
Caodoukou (Black Cardamom), Roudoukou (Nutmeg) (each 2 seeds, wrapped in flour and baked, one raw-cooked, one fully cooked), Zizhou Nongpo (Zizhou Magnolia Bark) (2 cun square, half ginger-processed, half raw), Gancao (Licorice Root).
Cut into pieces, divide into two large doses. Before onset at dawn, decoct in 1 sheng of water to obtain 0.8 he. Cool until next morning, then take warm. Retain dregs and decoct twice more.

Pixie Dan / Evil-Averting Elixir
Treats mountain miasma malaria and Pi diseases.
Lvdou (Mung Bean) (40), Heidou (Black Soybean) (30), Hao Pishuang (Good Arsenic Trioxide) (0.5 fen), Zhusha (Cinnabar) (2 grains, size of black soybean), Huangdan (Minium) (1 fen, stir-fried, used as coating).
Place the five herbs in a mortar, add cold water, and form 10 pills. Take 1 pill per dose, grinding 7 southeast peach hearts in well water, swallow facing the sun. Vinegar water may also be used.

Changshan Tang / Dichroa Decoction
Treats malaria.
Changshan (Dichroa Root), Zhimu (Anemarrhena Rhizome), Gancao (Licorice Root) (each 3 fen), Mahuang (Ephedra Stem) (1 liang).
Grind into coarse powder. Each dose is 5 qian, taken with 2 zhan of water, decocted to 1 zhan, and taken warm. Induce sweating by drinking a bowl of deer millet porridge. Strain and discard.

Ganqi Wan / Dry Lacquer Pill
If skin cold penetrates to bone, soup and fire cannot warm it, thick clothes cannot warm it, yet there is no shivering. This is due to originally strong Kidney Qi, excessive indulgence leading to exhaustion of Water (Kidney Yin/Essence), dry fingers, insufficient marrow, and lack of essence filling the exterior. The absence of shivering is not Yang deficiency invaded by Yin, but Bone Bi Malaria. Untreated long-term, it leads to contracture. Use this formula.
Lurong (Deer Antler), Shengshengdihuang (Raw Rehmannia Root) (each 4 liang), Ganqi (Dry Lacquer) (0.5 liang), Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root) (1 liang).
Grind into fine powder, bind with wine-boiled wheat paste, form pills the size of sophora seeds. Take 30 pills with wine on an empty stomach.

Qizao Tang / Seven Jujubes Decoction
Treats malaria.
Da Wutou (Large Prepared Aconite Lateral Root) (1 piece, roasted hot after moving seven times, crushed), Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger), Dazao (Jujube) (7 pieces), Congbai (Green Onion White) (7 cun).
Decoct in a small bowl of water to one full zhan. One hour before onset, strain and take hot. Eat jujubes afterwards.

Taiyi Shendan / Supreme One Divine Elixir
Treats chronic malaria unresponsive to treatment.
Shanghao Pishuang (High-quality Arsenic Trioxide) (0.5 liang), Hanshuishi (Calcite), Longnao (Borneol), Shexiang (Musk) (small amounts each).
Grind arsenic trioxide in an iron pot, mix with Hanshuishi powder to form a ball, cover with a bowl, seal with wet paper, and burn until smoke appears and heavy paper turns yellow. Stop burning, remove, and store with specific incense/taboo instructions (text fragmentary).

Lingshuang Wan / Spirit Frost Pill
Treats Dan malaria with frequent attacks, severe thirst, and unstable alternating chills and fever.
Pishuang (Arsenic Trioxide), Lvdou (Mung Bean) (each 0.5 liang), Chuan Dahuang (Sichuan Rhubarb Root) (1 liang), Shexiang (Musk) (1 fen).
Grind into fine powder, mix thoroughly, bind with refined honey, form pills the size of sophora seeds. Dew overnight. On the day of onset, take 1 pill with cold water at dawn, and another 1 pill just before onset. Avoid hot foods.

Taoren Hengshan Wan / Peach Seed and Dichroa Pill
Treats Dan malaria with irregular onset, only heat without chills.
Hengshan (Dichroa Root), Taoren (Peach Seed), Huangqi (Astragalus Root) (each 1 liang), Xiangchi (Fermented Soybean) (1 he).
Grind into fine powder, bind with water-refined honey, form pills the size of sophora seeds. On onset days, take 10 pills on an empty stomach with peach seed decoction, and another dose during onset.

Shuanghuang Wan / Frost Yellow Pill
Treats chronic malaria unresponsive to treatment.
Pishuang (Arsenic Trioxide), Liuhuang (Sulfur), Xionghuang (Realgar), Cihuang (Orpiment) (each 0.5 liang).
Grind finely. In a new pot, spread salt powder first, place herbs on salt, cover with a bowl, seal with Liu Yi Ni (Six-One Mud), prevent gas leakage. Roast slowly with moderate fire to make three pills.

Dan Chi Wumei Wan / Light Fermented Soybean and Sour Plum Pill
Treats malaria regardless of duration.
Hengshan (Dichroa Root) (2 liang, finely cut, dried until slightly yellow, pounded separately into powder), Wumei (Smoked Plum) (20 pieces, flesh extracted and pounded into paste), Taoren (Peach Seed) (49 pieces, tips removed).
Pound each ingredient separately, combine in a mortar, pound 1,000 times. If too dry, add refined honey to bind properly, then pound 1,000 times more. Avoid certain foods during preparation.

Qiandan Wan / Lead Tetroxide Pill
Treats malaria with miraculous effect.
Qiandan (Lead Tetroxide) (2 liang), Renshen (Ginseng Root) (3 fen), Tianxiong (Aconitum Carmichaelii Root) (10 fen).
Grind into fine powder, bind with refined honey, form pills the size of sophora seeds. Take 2 pills with congee drink before meals. Guaranteed efficacy.

Sanman Wan / Three-Full Pill
Treats malaria with hundred-percent success rate, miraculous formula.
Hengshan Powder, Bai Mi (White Honey), Sheng Jizi Bai (Raw Egg White).
Mix equal volumes (measured by eggshell) in a pan, cook until pills can be formed. Take 40 pills in the morning and 40 in the evening with congee drink. Approximately two egg whites are needed for this batch.

Dansha Wan / Cinnabar Pill
Treats equal chills and fever, also treats tertian malaria.
Dansha (Cinnabar), Renshen (Ginseng Root) (each 1 fen), Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root) (1 piece, half liang).
Grind into fine powder, bind with refined honey, form pills the size of sophora seeds. Take 20-30 pills with Bamboo Leaf Decoction. Take three doses before onset. If effective, vomiting or mild numbness may occur. If not effective, increase dosage (text fragmentary).

Guangming Wan / Bright Light Pill
Treats chronic malaria with miraculous effect.
Guangming Sha (Refined Cinnabar) (0.5 liang), Hengshan (Dichroa Root) (1 liang), Xingren (Apricot Seed) (10 pieces).
Grind into fine powder, mix in Zhusha (Cinnabar) evenly, bind with refined honey, form pills the size of sophora seeds. Take 15 pills with congee drink before onset, and another dose when onset approaches.

Wujiang San / Black Ginger Powder
Treats malaria.
Ganjiang (Dried Ginger), Liangjiang (Greater Galangal Root) (each 1 liang, cut and stir-fried until purple).
Grind into fine powder. Each dose is 2 qian, taken with hot wine before onset.

Ehu Gao / Tiger-Choking Ointment
Treats various malaria.
Yanzhi (Vermilion/Carmine), Awei (Asafoetida) (each size of a large soybean, ground together).
Mix with garlic pulp to form ointment. Split a large peach pit, remove kernel, take one half, fill with ointment. Patient uses this before onset (application method fragmentary).

Zhendan / True Red Powder
Treats various malaria with alternating chills and fever, irregular onset, heart discomfort and heat.
Changshan (Dichroa Root) (3 liang, powdered), Zhendan (True Red Powder/Guozhou Minium) (1 liang, stir-fried in separated pot until color changes).
Grind together, bind with honey, form pills the size of sophora seeds. Take 3 pills before onset, 3 during onset, 3 before bed, with rice drink.

Lingsha San / Spirit Mercury Powder
Treats chronic malaria unresponsive to treatment.
Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root) (1 liang, approx. 3 pieces), Lingsha (Spirit Mercury/Cinnabar processed with sulfur) (1 fen).
Wrap Fuzi in flour, roast until flour is charred. Remove flour, skin, and navel, grind to fine powder. Mix with Lingsha. Take 1 qian with cold wine before onset.

Shensheng San / Divine Holy Powder
Treats malaria.
Shepi (Snake Skin) (2 cun, obtained from high places).
Burn over lamp flame to ash, add small amount of Shexiang (Musk), grind fine. Take with green onion and white wine before onset.

Treats chronic malaria unresponsive to treatment, weak constitution.
Da Wutou (Large Prepared Aconite Lateral Root) (1 piece, straight), roast in ash fire seven times (do not burn), remove skin and navel, crush to rice-grain size. With 7 jujubes, 1 bowl of water, Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger)... (text fragmentary).

Caoguo Yinzi / Cardamom Drink
Treats Spleen Cold malaria.
