Skin cold-heat [Pi Han Re], the skin cannot touch the mat, hair becomes dry and brittle, the nose dries up like cured meat, and there is no sweat. Puncture the collaterals of the Three Yang meridians and tonify Hand Taiyin [Fei Meridian]. (The Lung governs skin and hair; wind excess causes cold-heat. When cold-heat qi is in the skin and hair, the skin feels hot and cannot approach the mat. Due to severe heat, the skin and hair become dry. The nose is the orifice of the Lung, and Lung qi connects to the nose, hence it dries up and there is no sweat. 'La' refers to dried meat. The San Yang Luo is located at a major branch on the hand; when Three Yang excess exists, it can be reduced. When Taiyin qi is deficient, it should be tonified. Ping An notes: In *Ling Shu*, the character 'pi' (skin) in 'pi bu ke fu xi' is an interpolation. In *Jia Yi Jing*, 'Taiyin' is written as 'Taiyang', which is likely an error. In the commentary, the character 'han' (cold) in 'han re zhi qi' is missing in Yuan's edition. The character 'guan' (orifice) in 'fei guan' is incomplete in the original text; since the following commentary states 'the lips and mouth are the orifice of the Spleen', it should be 'guan'; Yuan's edition writes 'gong'.)
Muscle cold-heat [Ji Han Re], muscle pain, hair becomes dry and brittle, and lips dry up like cured meat, with no sweat. Puncture the lower Three Yang meridians to remove blood, and tonify Taiyin to induce sweating. (Cold-heat qi is in the muscles, causing muscle pain and dry hair. The lips and mouth are the orifices of the Spleen, and Spleen qi connects to the muscles; thus, muscle heat causes dry lips and mouth and no sweat. This indicates excess in the Foot Three Yang meridians, so blood should be removed. Deficiency in Foot Taiyin requires tonification to induce sweating. Ping An notes: In *Ling Shu*, the character 'zhe' (is) follows 'han re'; in *Jia Yi Jing*, the character 'bing' (disease) appears. In *Ling Shu*, the character 'zu' (foot) precedes 'Taiyin'. In *Jia Yi Jing*, 'chu' (exit) in 'yi chu qi han' is written as 'qu' (remove).)
Bone cold-heat [Gu Han Re], the patient finds no comfort, sweat pours continuously without stopping. If the teeth have not yet become dry/brittle, puncture the collaterals of Foot Shaoyin in the inner thigh; if the teeth are already dry/brittle, death occurs and it is untreatable. Bone Jue [Gu Jue] is similar. (Cold-heat qi is in the bones; bone heat causes restlessness and continuous pouring sweat. Dry/brittle teeth are a sign of bone death. If teeth are not dry/brittle, one can puncture the collaterals of Foot Shaoyin between the inner thighs because Foot Shaoyin internally governs the bones. Ping An notes: In *Jia Yi Jing*, 'gu' (bone) follows 'han'; 'bing' is written as 'tong' (pain); 'wei gao' (not yet dry) is written as 'ben gao tong' (originally dry/painful); 'yi gao' (already dry) is written as 'se gao' (color dry). In the commentary, 'zhu' (govern) in 'nei zhu yu gu' is mistakenly written as 'han' (cold) in Yuan's edition.)
Bone Bi [Gu Bi], joints are immobile and painful, sweat pours continuously, and the heart is vexed. Puncture the meridians of the Three Yin and apply tonification. (Cold-damp qi is in the bone joints, causing immobility and pain in limbs/joints, pouring sweat, and mental vexation; this is named Bone Bi. This indicates deficiency in all Hand and Foot Three Yin meridians, which have been invaded by various cold-damp pathogens. Therefore, retain the needle for tonification to eliminate the damp-bi.)
If the body suffers injury with excessive blood loss, or contracts wind-cold, or suffers a fall/bruise, and the four limbs are loose and unable to hold themselves, it is called Ti Jie [Body Looseness]. Puncture the San Jie Jiao [Three Intersecting Connections] point below the umbilicus. San Jie Jiao is where the Yangming and Taiyin meridians intersect, specifically Guanyuan [CV-4], three cun below the umbilicus. (Excessive bleeding from injury is one cause; contracting wind-cold is the second; suffering a fall is the third. 'Ti' refers to the four limbs. All three conditions can cause the four limbs to loosen and fail to hold themselves, named Ti Jie disease. One can puncture the Foot Yangming and Foot Taiyin meridians at the Front-Mu point of the Small Intestine, Guanyuan, below the umbilicus. 'San Jie' refers to the Qi of the Foot Three Yin Taiyin intersecting with Yangming below the umbilicus. Ping An notes: In *Jia Yi Jing*, 'xue chu duo' is written as 'chu xue duo'; 'duo zhui' is written as 'zhui duo'; in *Ling Shu*, 'jie' is written as 'jie duo' (loose/lazy); 'ti jie' is written as 'ti duo'. 'Qi' in *Ling Shu* and *Jia Yi Jing* is written as 'qi' (navel).)
In cases of Jue Bi [Jue Bi], when Jue qi ascends to the abdomen, puncture the collaterals of the Yin and Yang meridians. Observe the primary pathology: reduce the Yang meridian and tonify the Yin meridian. (Rebellious qi ascends from the foot to the lower abdomen. Puncture the collaterals of the Foot Yin and Yang meridians. For the pathology they govern, remove blood (reduce) and tonify the Three Yin meridians.)
The arterial pulse on the side of the neck is Renying [ST-9]. Renying belongs to Foot Yangming [Stomach Meridian], located anterior to the thyroid cartilage (thyroid notch). Posterior to the thyroid cartilage is Hand Yangming [Large Intestine Meridian], named Futu [LI-18]. The next vessel is Hand Shaoyang [Sanjiao Meridian], named Tianyou [TE-16]. The next vessel is Foot Taiyang [Bladder Meridian], named Tianzhu [BL-10]. The arterial pulse in the axilla is Hand Taiyin [Lung Meridian], named Tianfu [LU-3]. [On the anterior chest along the Conception Vessel is Tiantu [CV-22]. On the lateral side of the Conception Vessel, the arterial pulse of Foot Yangming anterior to the thyroid cartilage is Renying. Regarding why Foot Yangming etc. are named so: Among the Twelve Regular Meridians, Foot Taiyin [Spleen] connects to the Stomach, ascends through the diaphragm, flanks Yangming, and connects to the root of the tongue. Foot Shaoyin [Kidney] ascends from the Kidney through the diaphragm into the Lung, follows the throat, and flanks the root of the tongue. Foot Jueyin [Liver] connects to the Gallbladder, follows the throat posteriorly, enters the epiglottis, connects to the eye system, ascends to the forehead, and meets the Du Vessel at the vertex; a branch descends from the eye system to the cheek interior. These Three Foot Yin meridians travel deep in the middle of the neck, hence their acupoints do not bear the meridian name. Although Foot Jueyin reaches the cheek, it does not pass through the main thoroughfare of the neck, so its acupoint does not bear the meridian name. Hand Shaoyin [Heart] follows the chest and connects to the eye system, but the Heart does not receive pathogenic factors, and its qi is not vigorous; Hand Jueyin Pericardium follows the chest, exits the costal region and axilla, but does not reach the neck, and being the Pericardium, its qi is even less vigorous; thus, acupoints of these two meridians do not bear meridian names. Hand Taiyin [Lung] resides in the upper zang, governs qi, and its qi is strong; although it does not reach the neck, emerging from Qi points, it bears the meridian name. Among the Hand and Foot Three Yang meridians, Hand Taiyang follows the neck to the cheek and reaches the outer canthus, but as the Fu organ of the Heart, its qi is not vigorous, so its acupoint does not bear the meridian name. Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder meridian originates at the outer canthus and descends to the chest; due to insufficient Grain Qi, its acupoint does not bear the meridian name. Only Hand and Foot Yangming have vigorous Grain Qi. Hand Shaoyang Sanjiao qi (some editions say Foot Shaoyang, but checking the context reveals an error) and Foot Taiyang, the leader of all Yang meridians, allow these four meridians, along with Hand Taiyin, to be included in the number of Five Major Transports. This differs from the meridian sequence in *Ben Shu* (Original Transport), where among the Twelve Regular Meridians, only the Three Foot Yin and Hand Shaoyin are absent, while all Hand and Foot Yang are... In the Eight Extraordinary Vessels, there are Ren and Du, serving as the sequence. Here, only the Five Major Essential Transports are selected for distinction. Ping An notes: In the commentary, 'suo xing chu shen' (where it travels is deep) in Yuan's edition is written as 'xing chu shen shen'. Also, two characters are missing after 'jie xi' in the commentary; careful reading suggests they might be 'ju, yu' (complete, at).]
Yang rebellion headache, chest fullness, and inability to breathe normally: Puncture Renying. (Foot Yangming [Stomach] from Daying follows the hairline to the frontal skull, so Yangming qi rebellion causes headache. A branch descends to Renying, follows the throat, belongs to the Stomach, and connects to the Spleen; thus, qi rebellion causes chest fullness and breathing difficulty. Renying can be punctured. Renying is the Stomach meridian governing Grain and Water, commanding the qi of the Five Zang organs. Cun Kou is Yin, this pulse is Yang, used to observe the qi of the Five Zang organs. It is forbidden to moxa.)
Sudden aphonia with qi obstruction: Puncture Futu and bleed the root of the tongue. (Hand Yangming diverges to a large collateral, traverses the shoulder, ascends to the angle of the jaw, follows the teeth, and enters the ear. It meets the Five Collaterals of the Zong Mai [Ancestral Pulse], all entering the ear; thus, the pulse in the ear is named Zong Mai. Therefore, for sudden aphonia and qi obstruction, puncture the Hand and Foot Yangming acupoint Futu and bleed to resolve the condition. Qi in the pharynx feels like a fish bone stuck, hence 'qi geng'. The root of the tongue is also named Fengfu, located one cun inside the hairline at the nape on the Du Vessel. However, the regular Hand Yangming meridian does not reach Fengfu; it is likely that the Zong Mai collateral in the ear connects to this root of the tongue. Since there is blood excess, it should be reduced by bleeding. Ping An notes: In *Ling Shu* and *Jia Yi Jing*, 'geng' is written as 'ying' (hard/stiff); 'qu' (take) is written as 'ci' (puncture).)
Sudden deafness with mental clouding, unclear vision and hearing: Puncture Tianyou. (Hand Shaoyang [Sanjiao] originates from Danzhong, ascends behind the ear. A branch goes from behind the ear into the ear, emerges anterior to the ear to the outer canthus. Thus, in Hand Shaoyang disease, sudden deafness and lack of clarity can be treated by puncturing Tianyou, located above the tendon in the supraclavicular fossa, posterior to Tiānróng, anterior to Tiānzhù, below Wángǔ, and above the hairline. Ping An notes: In *Jia Yi Jing*, 'mao' (clouded) has an additional 'mao' (faint/dizzy) character; 'bu ming' (not clear) is written as 'bu kai' (not open); there are eighteen additional characters: "head and jaw pain, tearing, nasal hemorrhage, inability to breathe, inability to smell fragrances or odors, wind dizziness, throat bi." 'Qu Tianyou' is written as 'Tianyou zhu zhi' (Tianyou governs it).)
Sudden spasms, epilepsy, and vertigo, feet unable to support the body: Puncture Tianzhu. (Foot Taiyang [Bladder] meridian originates at the inner canthus, ascends to the forehead, crosses the vertex, enters and connects to the brain, descends flanking the spine to the waist, follows the muscular column, passes the hip joint, combines with the popliteal fossa, penetrates the calf, emerges posterior to the lateral malleolus, and reaches the lateral side of the little toe. Thus, in disease of this meridian, sudden leg spasms, pediatric epilepsy, head vertigo, and weak feet can be treated by puncturing Tianzhu. Tianzhu is located in the depression lateral to the greater tendon at the posterior hairline of the neck. Ping An notes: In *Jia Yi Jing*, 'luan' (spasm) has an additional 'ju' (contract) character.)
Sudden dan [febrile disease] with internal rebellion, Liver and Lung qi conflicting, blood overflowing from nose and mouth: Puncture Tianfu. This belongs to the Five Major Transports of the Five Regions. (Heat excess causes dan. Hand Taiyin [Lung] meridian originates in the Middle Jiao, descends to connect with the Large Intestine, returns to follow the stomach opening, ascends through the diaphragm to belong to the Lung. Thus, in disease of this meridian, sudden abdominal dan, rebellious Spleen and Stomach qi, and conflicting Liver and Lung qi cause internal rebellion and blood overflow from nose and mouth. Hence, Tianfu is punctured. Tianfu is located three cun below the axilla, on the medial aspect of the arm at the arterial pulse. This is one of the Five Major Transports of the Five Regions between the neck and chest. Ping An notes: In *Jia Yi Jing*, 'dan' is written as 'bi'. In *Ling Shu*, 'Da Shu' (Great Transport) is written as 'Tianyou'. In *Jia Yi Jing*, this sentence reads "This is the Great Shu Five Regions of the Stomach," with a note stating: "'Five Regions': According to *Ling Shu*: Yang rebellion headache... [lists symptoms and points] ... This is the Five Great Shu Five Regions of the Stomach. Now Shishan scattered these five acupoints into different chapters; this is merely one of the Five Regions." Based on this, in *Ling Shu* and *Tai Su*, the text of Da Shu Five Regions is connected. Shishan's compilation of *Jia Yi Jing* scatters them across chapters. Also, the cited text says 'ci Futu' (puncture Futu), but current *Ling Shu* says 'qu Futu' (take Futu). 'Bao ju luan' (sudden contract/spasm) in current *Ling Shu* is 'bao luan' (sudden spasm). 'Xian' (epilepsy) in current *Ling Shu* is 'xian xuan' (epilepsy/vertigo). "This is the Five Great Shu Five Regions of the Stomach" in current *Ling Shu* is "This is the Tianyou Five Regions." There are slight differences from the citation, suggesting other editions exist.)
Arm Yangming has vessels entering the nostrils and遍及 the teeth, named Renying. For lower toothache, puncture the arm. If aversion to cold exists, tonify; if not, reduce. (Arm Yangming refers to Hand Yangming [Large Intestine]. Hand Yangming meridian ascends from the hand, follows the arm, enters the supraclavicular fossa, descends to connect with the Lung. A branch from the supraclavicular fossa runs posterior to the thyroid cartilage, ascends to the neck, enters the lower teeth, returns, exits flanking the nose, originates from Foot Yangming, crosses the forehead, descends into the upper teeth, then exits, follows the chin to Daying. A branch from Daying descends anterior to the thyroid cartilage to Renying. At the thyroid cartilage, the skin-region collaterals of the two meridians intersect with both meridians, so Arm Yangming qi also emerges at Renying, hence 'has entry'. Thus, for lower toothache, Shangyang [LI-11] on the Hand is punctured. Aversion to cold indicates Yang deficiency, so tonify. Lack of aversion to cold indicates Yang excess, so reduce. Ping An notes: In *Ling Shu*, 'ru qiu' (enter nostril) is written as 'ru qiu' (enter cheekbone). In *Jia Yi Jing*, the character 'bian' (throughout) before 'chi' (teeth) is missing. In *Ling Shu* and *Jia Yi Jing*, 'Renying' is written as 'Daying'. *Jia Yi Jing* note: "*Ling Shu* names it Heliao, or Daying. Detailed analysis shows Daying is where the Yangming meridian originates, so it should be Heliao. However, for lower toothache, one should also take Heliao and Daying of Foot Yangming; testing would clarify." Based on this, the references in *Ling Shu* and *Jia Yi Jing* are uncertain; Yang's commentary clarifies. Also, in the note, 'xia bi' (flank nose) has 'xia' mistakenly written as 'hou' (throat) in Yuan's edition.)
Foot Taiyang has vessels entering the cheek and遍及 the teeth, named Jiaosun. For upper toothache, puncture between the nose and anterior to the nostril. During the disease, if the pulse is excess, reduce; if deficient, tonify. Alternatively, puncture outside the eyebrow. During the disease, excess reduce, deficient tonify. ('Bian' sounds like 'bian'. Foot Taiyang meridian originates at the inner canthus and ascends to the forehead. Its skin-region collateral has branches descending into the cheek posteriorly,遍及 the upper teeth, and entering the ear. Qi emerges at the Jiaosun acupoint, hence 'has entry'. Thus, for upper toothache, puncture the nose and anterior to the nasal bone. Where collaterals are visible, puncture to remove blood; if deficient, tonify the collateral, and tonifying the collateral allows drinking tonifying medicine. 'Outside the eyebrow' refers to the Shang Guan [ST-7] acupoint of Foot Yangming. Shang Guan is located at the superior margin of the bone anterior to the ear, with a gap when the mouth is opened; tonification or reduction is applied based on deficiency or excess. Ping An notes: In *Jia Yi Jing*, 'Zu Zhi Taiyang' (Foot Taiyang) is written as 'Shou Taiyang' (Hand Taiyang). In *Ling Shu* and *Jia Yi Jing*, 'ru jia' (enter cheek) is written as 'ru qiu' (enter cheekbone). In *Ling Shu*, 'qiu qian' (anterior to nostril) is written as 'qian'; 'mei wai' (outside eyebrow) is written as 'bi wai' (outside nose); the eight characters "fang bing zhi shi sheng xie xu bu" (during the disease, excess reduce, deficient tonify) are missing.)
Foot Yangming has vessels flanking the nose entering the face, named Xuanlu. It belongs to the mouth, opposes and enters to connect to the root of the eye. Observe those with excess/deficiency and puncture. Reduce excess, tonify deficiency. Doing otherwise will worsen the condition. (Foot Yangming major meridian originates at the nose, crosses the bridge of the nose, descends lateral to the nose into the upper teeth, returns, exits flanking the mouth, crosses Chengjiang, follows the chin, exits Daying, ascends anterior to the ear, follows the hairline. Qi emerges at the Xuanlu acupoint. There is a skin-region collateral opposite the mouth, entering to connect to the eye system. 'Dui' means 'opposite/equal'. Observe the excess or deficiency of Foot Yangming and apply reduction or tonification. Incorrect treatment will exacerbate the condition. Ping An notes: In *Jia Yi Jing*, 'you xia' (has flank) is written as 'you xia' (again flank). In *Ling Shu*, 'xia' is written as 'xie' (clasp). In *Jia Yi Jing*, six characters "tou tong yin han qu zhi" (headache radiating to the jaw, puncture it) follow 'mu ben' (root of eye); 'yi bu zu' (tonify deficiency) is written as 'bu bu zu' (tonify deficiency).)
Foot Taiyang has vessels connecting to the neck and entering the brain, directly belonging to the root of the eye, named Yan Xi [Eye System]. If the head and eyes have fixed pain, puncture between the two tendons in the neck, entering the brain to separate. (Foot Taiyang meridian originates at the inner canthus, ascends to the forehead, crosses the vertex. Its straight branch enters the brain from the vertex, connects to the brain, returns, separates, and descends the neck. There is a collateral belonging to the root of the eye, named Eye System. Taiyang is the upper lid of the eye, so Taiyang also serves as the connection to the eye. Now separating to belong to the head, its qi is connected; thus, for fixed pain in the head and eyes, puncture Dazhui [GV-14], where the qi emerges from the separation of the two tendons of Foot Taiyang in the neck. Dazhui is in the depression above the first thoracic vertebra, the meeting point of the Three Yang and Du Vessel. Ping An notes: In *Ling Shu* and *Jia Yi Jing*, 'gu tong' (fixed pain) is written as 'ku tong' (bitter pain). In the note, 'jin liang' (two tendons) should be 'liang jin' (two tendons) according to the text.)
Yin Qiao and Yang Qiao intersect; Yang enters and Yin exits; Yin and Yang intersect at the outer canthus. When Yang qi is excess, the eyes open; when Yin qi is excess, the eyes close. (Both Qiao vessels originate from the feet and travel to the eyes, ascending together. Why call it Yang entering and Yin exiting? Exhalation is Yang (outward), inhalation is Yin (inward). Thus, during exhalation, it is outward at the mouth and also outward at the head and feet; during inhalation, it is inward at the mouth and also inward at the head and feet. Speaking of Yin-Yang entry/exit at the outer canthus implies intersection allowing the eyes to see clearly. Therefore, Yang excess causes eyes to open and not close; Yin excess causes eyes to close and not open. One should puncture these two Qiao vessels. Ping An notes: In *Ling Shu* and *Jia Yi Jing*, 'Qiao' is written as 'Qiao'. In *Ling Shu*, 'Yang ru Yin chu' is written as 'Yang ru Yin Yin chu Yang'; 'Dui' is written as 'Rui' (sharp/canthus). In *Jia Yi Jing*, it is written as 'Yang qi jue nai ming, Yin qi jue ze mian' (When Yang qi perishes, eyes close; when Yin qi perishes, one sleeps).)
Cold Jue [Han Jue]: Puncture Foot Yangming and Foot Shaoyin, retain the needle. (Rebellious cold qi ascends from the feet, causing cold reversal in the feet. Puncture Taixi [KI-3] of Foot Shaoyin, located in the depression of the arterial pulse posterior to the medial malleolus; puncture Jie Xi [ST-41] of Foot Yangming, located one and half cun posterior to Chongyang [ST-42]. Ping An notes: In *Ling Shu* and *Jia Yi Jing*, the Cold Jue section follows the Hot Jue section.)
Hot Jue [Re Jue]: Puncture Foot Taiyin and Foot Shaoyang. When rebellious hot qi originates from the feet, puncture Guangming [GB-37], the collateral of Foot Shaoyang, five cun above the lateral malleolus, diverging to Jueyin, and the Foot Taiyin meridian treating the primary disease.
Tongue protrusion with drooling and mental vexation: Puncture Foot Shaoyin. (Foot Shaoyin meridian ascends from the sole, belongs to the Kidney, connects to the Bladder, passes through the Liver and Diaphragm, enters the Lung, follows the throat, flanks the root of the tongue. A branch from the Lung connects to the Heart and pours into the Chest. Thus, in meridian Jue-heat, drooling and mental vexation, puncture Ran Gu [KI-2] of Foot Shaoyin. Ran Gu is located in the depression anterior to the medial malleolus, below the prominent bone. Ping An notes: In *Jia Yi Jing*, 'xian' (saliva) is written as a specific character; 'men' is written as 'men' (vexation); 'qu Zu Shao Yin' is written as 'Yin Jiao zhu zhi' (Yin Jiao governs it).)
Shivering chills, shaking chins, inability to sweat, abdominal distension, and mental vexation: Puncture Hand Taiyin. ('Sa' sounds like 'xi'. Hand Taiyin [Lung] meridian originates in the Middle Jiao, descends to connect with the Large Intestine, returns to follow the stomach opening, ascends through the diaphragm to belong to the Lung. A branch emerges from the supraclavicular fossa, follows the throat, combines with Hand Yangming, from the supraclavicular fossa ascends the neck, pierces the cheek, and enters the lower teeth. The Lung dislikes cold, so deficiency causes shivering chills and chin shaking. Following the Stomach to belong to the Lung causes abdominal distension and mental vexation. 'Men' sounds like 'men' (vexation). Puncture Shaoshang [LU-11] of Hand Taiyin. Shaoshang is on the medial side of the tip of the thumb, one grain of rice width from the nail corner. Ping An notes: In *Jia Yi Jing*, 'sa sa' is written as a specific character; 'men' is written as 'men'. In the note, 'xun wei kou' (follow stomach opening) has 'xun' written as 'cong' (from) in Yuan's edition.)
To puncture deficiency, puncture the 'Qu' (departure); (Where Ying and Wei qi have passed is called 'Qu'; thus, 'Qu' is deficiency, and it should be tonified to make it solid.)
To puncture excess, puncture the 'Lai' (arrival); (Where Ying and Wei qi arrive is called 'Lai'; thus, 'Lai' is excess, and it should be reduced to make it deficient.)
Spring: Puncture collateral vessels. (In Spring, Liver qi begins to generate, wind is swift and qi is urgent. Meridian qi is still deep, so puncture the collaterals between the muscle layers to treat diseases in the skin.)
Summer: Puncture fen cou [interstices]. (In Summer, Heart qi begins to grow, pulses are thin and qi is weak. Yang qi flows through meridians and channels, heating the interstices and penetrating internally to the meridians. Thus, puncture the interstices to treat diseases in the muscles.)
Autumn: Puncture Qi Kou [He Gu / Union]. (In Autumn, Lung qi is about to收敛 (gather). Yang qi is in the He points, Yin qi begins to prevail, dampness affects the body, but Yin qi is not yet strong. Thus, puncture Qi Kou (which is the He point) to treat diseases in the sinews and vessels.)
Winter: Puncture Jing Shu [Meridian Transport]. (In Winter, Kidney qi is just closed, Yang qi declines, Shao Yin qi is tight, Tai Yang sinks. Thus, puncture Jing-Well and Shu points to descend Yin qi, and puncture Ying-Shu points to solidify Yang qi, treating diseases in the bone marrow and Five Zang organs. Ping An notes: In *Jia Yi Jing*, 'Shu' is written as 'Yu', same below.)
For all these four seasons, each uses its respective method as the standard. Collateral vessels treat the skin; interstices treat the muscles; Qi Kou treats the sinews and vessels; Jing Shu treats the bone marrow and Five Zang organs. ('Qi' sounds like 'Ji' (dose/standard).)
The body has five regions: Fubu [ST-32] is one; (Fubu is located six cun above the knee, originating...)
