The lips are scorched and dry, with thirst but no desire to drink. This indicates that the warm pathogen is latent in the Ying (Nutrient) level and has transmitted counterflow to the Danzhong (Chest Center). The warmth stagnates and transforms into fire; the fire scorching the body fluids generates phlegm. The phlegm rises with the fire, clouding the Pericardium, causing the Shen (Spirit) to lose its master. Suddenly, Liver Wind arises; the wind rides upon the fire's momentum, and the fire borrows strength from the wind, resulting in such rampant manifestations. The pulse is not surging and rapid, so it cannot be compared to the interior heat of the Yangming channel. The danger of Jue (Cold Extremities/Reversal) and Bi (Obstruction/Closure) is likely unavoidable. It is urgent to propose a method to clear the warmth, extinguish wind, calm the spirit, and eliminate phlegm, thereby saving the desperate situation and nourishing the source of transformation. Whether this is appropriate is submitted for the judgment of experts.
