Add Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), 2 qian. Regular use of this medicine calms the heart and transforms phlegm.
The *Xiuzhen Fang* states:
For neonatal convulsions (Taijing, 胎惊), the treatment should focus on dispersing wind-pathogens, relieving convulsions, transforming phlegm, regulating qi, and applying patches to the fontanelle. For severe cases, use Zhuyin Wan (Vermilion Silver Pill) to promote bowel movement. For those with a cyanotic complexion, clenched fists, and convulsions, Baoming Dan (Life-Preserving Elixir), Gouteng San (Uncaria Powder), or Quanzhe San (Scorpion Powder) should be administered. For newborn infants who cannot easily take medication, if such symptoms occur, urgently obtain pig milk, finely grind small amounts of Zhensha (Cinnabar), Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis), and Shexiang (Moschus), mix them, and apply to the mouth for immediate recovery.
Treats neonatal convulsion-induced exhaustion and various forms of debility.
One Scorpio (Quanzhe, 全蝎), small amounts of Hupo (Amber) and Zhensha (Cinnabar). Mix with Maidong (Ophiopogonis Tuber) decoction and administer one zi-sized dose.

Additionally, add Nanxing (Arisaematis Rhizoma) powder, mix with honey, and apply to the fontanelle.
When an infant has not passed stool for three to five days after birth, this condition is called Suodu (Lock Belly). Heat toxin from the womb becomes excessive and obstructs the anus, causing blockage without lubrication. Urgently have a woman rinse her mouth with warm water and suckle the infant's anterior and posterior chest, as well as seven points around the umbilicus and limbs, four or five times. Then, dissolve 5 fen of Qingfen (Calomel) with a little honey in warm water, and administer small amounts frequently until bowel movement is achieved. If it remains blocked, it indicates anal atresia. Alternatively, penetrate and clear the passage using a gold hairpin, inserting it two cun deep, and insert a mixture of sesame oil and honey into the hole. Relief is felt when feces are expelled. If the abdomen is distended, the infant refuses milk, and moaning persists for seven days, survival is unlikely.
If an infant does not suckle immediately after birth, it is due to incomplete cleaning of the mouth, allowing impure substances to enter the stomach. This causes abdominal distension and shortness of breath, preventing suckling; or there may be vomiting, preventing milk intake; or cold from the womb causes abdominal pain and refusal to suckle, leading to frequent crying. Treat with Muxiang San (Costus Powder).
