Evodiae Fructus (Wuzhuyu) (washed with decoction), Chaenomelis Fructus (Mu Gua) (pulp removed, sliced and dried).
The above two herbs are ground into powder in equal parts. Form pills using wine and flour paste, sized like wutong seeds. Take 50 to 100 pills per dose, swallowed with wine; alternatively, steaming Mu Gua until soft, grinding it into a paste for pill formation is even more excellent.
Treats dry and damp Hongjiao.
Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi) (weighing eight qian, skin and umbilical scar removed), Sojae Semen Nigrum (Heidou) (half jin, placed in a porcelain jar and slowly boiled over low heat until Fuzi is thoroughly cooked).
Take one he of the cooked beans, grind them together with Fuzi into a cake, bake until dry, then grind into powder. Form pills using refined honey, sized like gleditsia seeds. Take two pills per dose on an empty stomach, chewed and swallowed with musk-infused wine.
Treats Hongjiao resulting from excessive intake of tonifying medicines, manifesting as urinary retention, strangury and closure, and subumbilical distension.
Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Gardeniae Fructus (Zhizi Ren) (stir-fried), Red Peony Root (Chishao Yao), Red Poria (Chifuling), Licorice Root (Gancao) (raw, each one liang).
Grind the above ingredients into a powder. Take three qian per dose, add one lamp of water, boil down to seven-tenths volume, strain off the dregs, and take the liquid.

Adzuki Bean (Chixiaodou) (half sheng), Mulberry Root Bark (Sangbaipi) (two liang), Perilla Leaf (Zisu) (one handful), Fresh Ginger (Shengjiang) (half liang).
Cut the above ingredients into coarse pieces. Add three sheng of water, boil until the beans are cooked. Consume the beans, strain off the dregs, and drink the remaining broth.
Treats insufficiency of primordial qi, weakness of true qi, and invasion by various deficiency-cold and damp-qi pathogens, leading to curling and spasms of hands and feet, cramping of toes extending to the dorsum of the foot, wandering pain, inability to extend sinews and vessels, and difficulty walking. Regular use benefits true qi, strengthens sinews and bones, darkens beard and hair, smooths skin, and addresses all conditions of weak legs, crane-knee wind, and other wind syndromes.
Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi) (one piece, processed, skin and umbilical scar removed), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (soaked in wine overnight), Gastrodiae Rhizoma (Tianma) (soaked in wine), Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix (Niuxi) (soaked in wine), Ziziphi Spinosae Semen (Suanzaoren) (stir-fried), Prepared Rehmanniae Radix (Shudihuang) (soaked in wine), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng) (forks removed, each two liang), Chaenomelis Fructus (Mu Gua) (four liang), Frankincense (Ruxiang) (half liang, separately ground), Moschus (Shexiang) (one fen, separately ground), Scorpio (Quanxie) (toxicity removed), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang), Myrrha (Moyao) (separately ground), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo), Licorice Root (Gancao) (roasted, each one liang).

Take one pill per dose, chew finely before sleep, and swallow with wine. During spring and summer, the amount of Shengdihuang paste used is very large; in winter, or if Shengdihuang is unavailable, form pills using only refined honey, sized like wutong seeds. Take 50 pills per dose, swallowed with warm salted wine.
