Treats pain in the heart and abdomen, or vomiting or diarrhea, with symptoms resembling Huoluan (cholera-like syndrome). It also treats conditions caused by wading through water and exposure to damp-cold, or invasion of "Zefeng" (thieving wind/pathogenic factors) into the abdomen, resulting in abdominal contraction, urgency, and severe pain.
Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, raw, peeled and navel removed, cut into four pieces, decocted with white honey until Fuzi changes color, rinsed with water to remove honey, sliced, dosage: half liang) Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex) Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) (each: three qian) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried, four qian)
The above ingredients are crushed into a coarse powder. Each dose consists of four da qian, decocted with one sheng of water, five slices of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), and two dates (Jujubae Fructus), until seven-tenths of the liquid remains. Strain and take before meals. If constipation is present, add half a spoonful of white honey and decoct together.
Treats heart pain caused by external factors, accompanied by aversion to cold and fever, where pathogenic factors attack the internal Zang organs, causing stiffness and inability to move.
Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba, nodes removed, soaked in hot water, dried by baking) Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex) Baishaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma, roots removed) Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, processed) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried, each: three qian) Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, washed seven times in hot water) Xiangfu (Cyperi Rhizoma, stir-fried to remove hairs, each: half liang)

Strain and take before meals. If constipation is present, add two pieces of Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) the size of a Go stone and decoct together.
Treats unbearable sharp pain in the heart and abdomen; light pressure exacerbates the pain, while heavy pressure relieves it. These are all deficiency-cold patterns. When hot-natured medicines and acupuncture/moxibustion fail to cure, this formula is indicated.
Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex, three qian) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried, half liang) Baishaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, one liang and half) Yuanzhi (Polygalae Radix, heart removed, half liang)
