Treats back carbuncles and sores, regardless of their depth or size, effectively eliminating the root cause without damaging the primordial Qi, with miraculous efficacy.
*Chiao* (those with purple backs and thick flesh, also known as *Chang'e*), 1 fen; raw *Gancao* (Licorice Root), 1 fen; *Qingfen* (Calomel), half a qian in weight.
Calcine the *Chiao* sealed with salt mud, obtain one liang of the powder, mix with *Gancao* powder, and grind uniformly with *Qingfen*. Take four qian bi (small spoonfuls) mixed with strong decoction of *Gualuo* wine. Administer at the fifth watch (early morning); continue until foul matter is discharged. If ineffective, prepare another dose. One *Gualuo* per dose, boiled in one bowl of wine until reduced to one bowl.
Treats back carbuncles and sores. Disperses heat, extracts toxins, expels pus, and relieves pain.
Large *Guolou* (Trichosanthes Fruit), 30 fruits (peeled, seeds removed, stir-fried until fragrant, kernels extracted and finely ground); *Ruxiang* (Frankincense), 2 liang; *Hutao* (Walnut), 60 nuts (meat extracted, peeled, finely ground together with *Guolou*); White honey, 1 jin.
Slowly boil the ingredients in a silver or earthenware vessel until they form an ointment. Take two large spoons each time, mixed with warm wine, administered at any time.
Treats carbuncles and sores that are about to erupt but have not ulcerated, as well as those already ulcerated. Internal administration supports the interior to push out toxins, preventing them from penetrating the membranes.
*Guolouzi* (Trichosanthes Seed, pulp removed and weighed); *Guiyao* (likely referring to a specific plant part, contextually kept as is); *Zaogao Ci* (Gleditsia Sinensis Thorn); *Shegan* (Belamcanda Rhizome, specifically the root of the red-flowered variety); *Tianluo Gua* (Luffa Fruit, seeds taken, one each); *Huixiang* (Fennel); *Mubie* (Momordica Seed, five nuts, shells removed); *Han Jiao* (Sichuan Pepper, one liang each).
Bake dry, grind into powder, mix with thin wheat paste to make cakes, bake dry again, and grind into powder. Take two to three qian each time, mixed with wine; if unable to drink alcohol, take with *Muxiang* (Aucklandia Root) decoction.
Causes carbuncles and sores to shrink and prevents spreading. Strictly avoid applying cold-natured medicines externally, as this may force toxins inward, leading to death.
Xingren (Apricot Seed), 21 grains (skin and tips removed, separately ground); Chuanjiao (Sichuan Pepper), 49 grains (eyes removed, sweat dried, ground into powder); Clear oil, 1 liang; Wine wax, half a liang.
Boil over alternating mild and strong fire, stirring with willow green branches until dark purple-black. Filter through cotton cloth, boil again until drops form beads when tested in water. Store in a clean container. Make crescent-shaped paper flower pastilles according to the size of the sore for external application. When the surrounding swelling subsides, further concentrate the small sore heads, then apply the subsequent medicine.
