Lujiaoshuang Wan (Deer Horn Frost Pill)
Indicated for Gao Lin (Gum-like Strangury), often caused by excessive worry and frustration, leading to instability of the Yi She (the residence of the mind/shen). Turbid Qi interferes with Clear Yang, resulting in dribbling strangury or urinary retention. The urine may be yellow, red, white, dark, and resemble fat or paste. This condition severely depletes physical strength and is often associated with cold-heat disorders complicated by dampness.
Ingredients: Lujiaoshuang (Deer Horn Frost), Baifuling (Poria), Qiushi (Mineral Salt) in equal proportions.
Process: Grind into fine powder, mix with rice paste to form pills the size of a paulownia seed. Take 50 pills per dose, administered with rice soup.
Haijinsha San (Gold Dust Powder)
Indicated for Gao Lin (Gum-like Strangury).
Ingredients: Haijinsha (Lygodii Spora), Huashimo (Talcum Powder) each 1 liang; Gancaomo (Licorice Root Powder) 1 fen.
Process: Grind uniformly. Take one bi (approx. 3-5g) per dose, administered with Maidong Tang (Ophiopogon Decoction); Dengxin Tang (Juncus Decoction) is also acceptable.
Chenxiang San (Agarwood Powder)
Indicated for Qi Lin (Qi-type Strangury), often caused by internal stagnation of the five zang organs, where Qi fails to circulate freely. Yin stagnates within Yang, causing obstruction, fullness and distension in the lower abdomen, and difficulty urinating. Once the stagnant Qi is dispersed, urination becomes smooth.
Ingredients: Chenxiang (Aquilaria Wood), Shiwei (Pyrrosiae Folium, hair removed), Huashi (Talcum), Wangbuliuxing (Vaccariae Semen), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) each 0.5 liang; Kuizhong (Abelmoschi Semen), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) each 3 qian; Gancao (Licorice Root), Juapi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium).
Process: Grind into fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with Damai Tang (Barley Decoction).
Fahui San (Hair Ash Powder)
Indicated for Xue Lin (Blood-type Strangury). If only blood appears in the urine resembling normal micturition, this is termed Jingnu (urethral bleeding), which this formula treats.
Process: Take any amount of disordered hair, burn it to ash, add a small amount of Shexiang (Musk). For each dose, mix with rice vinegar-infused liquid and take orally. To treat strangury, it can also be used in equal parts with Kuizhongmo (Abelmoschi Powder), taken with rice... [Text fragment incomplete].
Shihui San (Persimmon Ash Powder)
Indicated for Xue Lin (Blood-type Strangury).
Process: Burn dried persimmons to ash while preserving their properties, grind into powder, and take with rice drink.
Xijiao Dihuang Tang (Rhinoceros Horn and Rehmannia Decoction)
Indicated for Xue Lin (Blood-type Strangury) or Blood Stasis. This results from wind-cold injuring the Kidney. It is appropriate to administer Tusizi Wan (Cuscuta Seed Pill) 30 pills using Mutong Tang (Akebia Decoction) as a vehicle. One should not assume that all bleeding is solely due to heat forcing blood to move recklessly. (See the section on Loss of Blood and Deficiency-Wasting for the formula details.)
Rushi San (Milky Resin Stone Powder)
Indicated for Xue Lin (Blood-type Strangury) and the Five Types of Lin Syndrome.
Process: Select frankincense containing stone impurities, grind finely, and take with rice drink or Maidong Tang (Ophiopogon Decoction). Take at times when hunger and satiety are balanced; taking on an empty stomach is also acceptable.
Xiaoji Yinzi (Small Thistle Infusion)
Indicated for Heat accumulation in the Lower Jiao, where hematuria develops into strangury.
Ingredients: Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Fresh, washed, 4 liang), Xiaoji Gen (Cephalopteri Radix), Huashi (Talcum), Tongcao (Tetrapanacis Medulla), Puhuang (Typhae Pollen, stir-fried), Danzhuye (Lophatheri Graminis Folium), Ou jie (Nelumbinis Rhizoma Node), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Shanzhizi Ren (Gardeniae Semen), Gancao (Licorice Root).
Process: Cut into pieces to make a coarse powder. Take 4 qian per dose, decoct in water, and take on an empty stomach.
Daochi Yin (Guide Out Redness Infusion)

Ingredients: Baiwei (Cynanchi Atrati Radix), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix) in equal proportions.
Process: Grind into fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with wine. Effect is immediate. Bangling (Arecae Betle Fructus) may be added.
Tongmi San (Unblocking Impediment Powder)
Indicated for Xue Lin (Blood-type Strangury) with unbearable pain.
Ingredients: Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Xiangfuzi (Cyperi Rhizoma), Chifuling (Polyporus with Hostwood) in equal proportions.
