(Attachment: Deficiency-Heat Restlessness)
Palpitations due to fright are caused by Heart Qi deficiency and Gallbladder Qi insufficiency. The Heart is the Sovereign Official, from which Shen (Spirit) emerges; the Gallbladder is the Official of Uprightness, from which decision-making emerges.
The Heart governs blood vessels, and the Gallbladder governs decision-making. If Heart Qi is deficient and Gallbladder Qi is weak, one becomes easily frightened by events, and Hun (Ethereal Soul) and Shen (Spirit) become unsettled, leading to various symptoms. As long as treatment targets the root cause, recovery is inevitable.
Treats Heart Qi deficiency and Gallbladder weakness, where one is easily startled by events, dreams of ominous signs, is confused by strange phenomena, thereby causing heart palpitations and fear, Qi stagnation generating phlegm-fluids, and the interaction between phlegm-fluids and Qi producing various syndromes. Symptoms may include shortness of breath, palpitations, and fatigue; spontaneous sweating; edema of the four limbs; loss of taste in food; mental restlessness and oppression due to Heart deficiency; and inability to sit or lie comfortably.

Each one liang)
The above herbs are ground into fine powder, formed into pills with refined honey, sized like wu-tong seeds, coated with Zhusha (Cinnabaris). Take seventy pills per dose, administered with cooked warm water, after meals and before bedtime.
Palpitations (Zhengchong) are caused by insufficient Heart Blood. The Heart governs blood; blood is the master of the Heart; the Heart is the sovereign of the body. When blood is abundant, the Heart Sovereign is naturally tranquil.
Excessive overthinking consumes Heart Blood, leaving the Heart Spirit without support, resulting in Zhengchong (palpitations with anxiety), trance-like states, predisposition to sadness and worry, lackluster complexion, frequent insomnia at night, and scanty urine.
