Treats women and unmarried girls who suffer from emotional injuries (Seven Emotions: joy, anger, worry, thought, sadness, fear, and fright), causing blood and qi to congeal together. This results in pain in the heart and abdomen, which may radiate to the waist and hypochondrium, or pull into the back and spine, with stabbing pains moving up and down. In severe cases, it causes convulsions and spasms, irregular menstruation, and any type of blood and qi pain can be treated with this formula.
Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui) (remove rhizome, soak in wine, slice, stir-fry); Jianhuo [Note: Original text unclear, likely a typo or specific processing term]; each half tael; Curcumae Zedoariae Rhizoma (Pianzi Jianghuang) (wash); Frankincense (Ruxiang) [unit missing in original] qianban.
The above herbs are coarsely crushed. Take 4 qian per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water and 7 slices of fresh ginger, decoct until 0.7 zhan remains, filter out the dregs, and take warm before meals. If there is vomiting or rebellious qi, add Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum (Banxia) and Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Juhong), each half tael.
