【治疗】
2. Use a plum-blossom needle (Meihua Zhen) to puncture the Yingxiang (LI 20) and Renzhong (GV 26) acupoints until bleeding occurs.
[Ancient Prescription]
1. Use a three-edged needle (Sanleng Zhen) to puncture the Erjian (LI 2), Neiting (ST 44), and Shangxing (GV 23) acupoints until bleeding occurs.
2. Use a plum-blossom needle to tap-stimulate the Guanyuan (CV 4) acupoint, then apply cupping therapy to induce bleeding.
3. Pinch simultaneously for 5 minutes on the Kunlun (BL 60) and Taixi (KI 3) acupoints using the thumbs and index fingers of both hands, then use a three-edged needle to puncture these four acupoints until bleeding occurs.
IX. Toothache
This syndrome is mostly caused by accumulated heat in the Stomach Meridian rushing upward, or by wind-fire pathogens disturbing along the meridian; it may also result from insufficient Kidney Water leading to deficiency fire flaming upward, or from habitual excessive consumption of sweet and sour foods that erode the teeth causing dental caries.
[Treatment]
Jiache (ST 6) and Neiting (ST 44): Puncture with a three-edged needle until bleeding occurs.
Dazhu (BL 11) and Weishu (BL 21): Apply suction cupping for 15 minutes.
Both sides of the spine: Tap-stimulate with a plum-blossom needle until bleeding occurs.
[Supplementary Prescription]
Chongyang (ST 42) and Xiaguan (ST 7): Puncture with a three-edged needle until bleeding occurs.
Dazhui (GV 14) and Shenshu (BL 23): Apply suction cupping for 15 minutes.
Hegu (LI 4), Fengchi (GB 20), and Daying (ST 5): Tap-stimulate with a plum-blossom needle until bleeding occurs.
[Folk Prescription]
1. Massage the painful tooth point from light to heavy pressure for 10 minutes, then puncture with a three-edged needle until bleeding occurs.

Tap-stimulate the Weishu (BL 21) acupoint with a plum-blossom needle, apply suction cupping for 10 minutes to induce bleeding of purple-red blood. Press and knead Hegu (LI 4) and Lieque (LU 7) acupoints with fingers; pain ceased immediately after treatment. Redness and swelling disappeared after two days, and the toothache was cured.
X. Sore Throat and Swelling
This syndrome is mostly caused by external contraction of wind-heat, where pathogenic qi obstructs the Lungs and scorches the throat upwards; or due to insufficient Kidney Yin, where body fluids cannot moisten upwards, compounded by reckless movement of pathogenic fire; or due to stagnant heat in the Stomach and Lung meridians, where pathogenic heat attacks upwards. For deficiency syndromes, release qi; for excess syndromes, release blood.
[Treatment]
Shaoshang (LU 11) and Neiting (ST 44): Puncture with a three-edged needle until bleeding occurs.
Dazhui (GV 14) and Danzhong (CV 17): Apply suction cupping for 15 minutes.

2. Identify obvious small veins on the back of the ear shell, puncture with a three-edged needle or large-headed needle to bleed 2–5 drops; if affected on the left, treat the right, and vice versa.
[Ancient Prescription]
1. Prick the Taixi (KI 3) acupoint with a three-edged needle to release black blood.

Treatment Method: Puncture the Taixi (KI 3) acupoint and three veins behind the ear with a three-edged needle until bleeding occurs. Treatment was effective after two sessions.
Section 6: Surgical Bloodletting
I. Tetanus
After trauma from various foreign objects, toxic pathogens invade the meridians through the wound, disturb along the meridians, causing muscle spasms and this syndrome. If the course of disease is prolonged, healthy qi cannot withstand it, pathogenic toxins sink inward, ultimately becoming a critical condition.
[Treatment]

At Dazhui (GV 14), Renzhong (GV 26), Taichong (LR 3), and Erjian (LI 2), blood can be released by puncturing with a three-edged needle.
II. Scrofula (Luo Li)
This syndrome is mostly caused by anger, joy, worry, and overthinking, leading to Liver Qi stagnation, which generates fire, transforms fluids into phlegm, and forms nodules in the neck or axilla due to phlegm-fire accumulation. It may also result from external contraction of wind-heat combined with phlegm obstructing meridians, causing disharmony of Ying and Wei, and stagnation of blood and qi; or due to weak Lungs and Kidneys failing to distribute qi and fluids, causing fluid condensation into phlegm, which flows along meridians. For deficiency, tonify more; for excess, drain more.
[Treatment]

2. Tap-stimulate the lesion with a plum-blossom needle to discharge pus and fluid, then apply suction cupping.
III. Goiter (Ying Qi)
This syndrome is mostly caused by frequent anger and worry, leading to qi knotting and failing to transform, with phlegm and blood stasis coagulating and forming nodules in the neck. Or it results from external contraction of the six excess pathogens and unsuitable water and soil, causing stagnation of qi and blood, which collides in the neck.
[Treatment]
Xingjian (LR 2) and Taichong (LR 3): Puncture with a three-edged needle until bleeding occurs.
Dazhui (GV 14), Feishu (BL 13), and Ganshu (BL 18): Apply suction cupping for 15 minutes.

After 3 treatments, the swollen sore disappeared.
V. Mumps (Zha Sai)
This syndrome is mostly caused by external contraction of seasonal toxins combined with phlegm and accumulated heat, where pathogenic heat stagnates in the Shaoyang meridians; or it results from residual toxins after rash not being fully cleared, or excessive Stomach fire, where pathogenic qi stagnates in the cheek area.
