Infants who refuse to suckle and cry should be examined immediately for a single white blister on the tongue, known as "Shegun" (Tongue Bamboo Shoot); if untreated, it is fatal. Extract juice from fresh Rehmanniae Radix (Shengdi). If fresh root is unavailable, soak dried Rehmanniae Radix in cool well water until softened, pound it into a paste, extract the juice, and apply it to the affected area several times for immediate cure.

For amenorrhea lasting three months, to determine whether pregnancy exists, use this test.
Take one spoonful of Ligusticum Chuanxiong Powder (Chuanxiong Mo), mix with decoction prepared from Qi Ai (Artemisia argyi), and take orally on an empty stomach. Slight movement within the abdomen indicates pregnancy; absence of movement indicates non-pregnancy.

To treat pain in bones and sinews, and spasms/contracture of hands and feet.
Pound one jin (approx. 500g) of Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Chuanwu) into fine powder. Add aged vinegar from the previous year into a clay pot, slowly simmer over low heat until it resembles a sauce-like consistency. Apply to the affected area. For conditions lasting one year, itching will occur one day after application; during itching, gently pat with hands until the sensation subsides. First, wash the area with a decoction of Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma), Natrii Sulfas (Pixiao), and Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Shengjiang), then apply the medicine. [Text appears incomplete here].

To treat all types of carbuncles, ulcers, and various toxins. Prophylactic administration can reduce swelling and expel toxins, preventing internal invasion, with significant efficacy. Take two jin of high-quality Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Fangcao) with large transverse rings, crush them, and soak in river water overnight. Knead to extract thick juice. Filter through fine silk cloth, pour into silver or ceramic vessels, and slowly simmer into a paste. Store in porcelain jars. Take one or two spoons each time, washed down with unfermented wine (Wuhui Jiu) or plain boiled water. This can also resolve toxicity caused by long-term consumption of alchemical pills.

To treat early-stage carbuncles, back abscesses, and unknown swellings/toxins where heat has not yet ulcerated; provides immediate effect. Use aged starch (Xiaofen), older being better. Stir-fry in a clay pot. Initially fry until sticky like maltose syrup; continue frying until dry and yellow-black. Grind into powder when cooled. Mix with aged rice vinegar to form a paste, simmer until viscous like lacquer, and store in porcelain jars. When using, spread on paper, cut a hole to fit the lesion, and apply. A cooling sensation will stop pain. Shortly after, slight itching may occur; allow it to dry without disturbing it. Over time, the toxin dissipates naturally, and the patch falls off as the medicinal power exhausts.

Use half a jin of Huangyaozi (Dioscorea bulbifera) from Wanzhou; dense and heavy specimens are superior. Light and hollow ones are from other regions and have weaker potency, requiring double dosage. Take ten dou (approx. 10 liters) of unfermented wine, submerge the herb, seal the bottle tightly, and boil over fire for one shichen (two hours). Open only after the wine cools. Drink one cup occasionally, ensuring the alcohol scent does not completely dissipate. After three to five days, the swelling will subside spontaneously.
