Dog bites, if left untreated, often lead to death. Immediately wash the wound with cold water in a windless place. Then drink one bowl of Chinese chive juice (Allii tuberosi Juice). Take another bowl seven days later, and consume a total of seven bowls within forty-nine days. Avoid sour and salty foods for one hundred days, avoid fish and strong-smelling foods for one year, and avoid dog meat for life; only then can one survive, otherwise nine out of ten will die.
Gengsheng notes: Dog bites are extremely dangerous. This prescription is quite safe and effective, and can be used. Additionally, there is a prescription from the Ma family of Menghe, which uses one to two jin (approx. 500-1000g) of Rhizoma Qingweilan (Qingwei Lan Gen), crushed to extract the juice. Drink the juice warm (do not heat it excessively; slightly warm is ideal), one to two bowls. Apply the dregs to the bite site and bandage securely to prevent falling off. Repeat this application and ingestion once the next day. Even in cases of rabid dog bites where, after a long time, the patient exhibits red eyes, hoarseness, and unconsciousness, three to five doses will result in spontaneous recovery. For ordinary dog bites, extracting one to two liang (approx. 30-60g) of juice and drinking it warm once or twice is sufficient for recovery. I have tested this myself with excellent results; this prescription also treats snake bites.
Both snake and dog bites leave toxic residues and gases from the fangs in the flesh. It is best to immediately rinse the wound with hot urine after being bitten. Do not refrain from washing due to fear of pain. Snake bites require particularly thorough washing to prevent retained broken teeth. If a broken tooth is present, it must be removed with a tool, followed by squeezing out the bad blood, rinsing with urine, and then applying external medication. Furthermore, ancient medical texts often used Mylabris (Ban Mao) in pills or powders for treating dog bites; taking these is harmful rather than beneficial and must never be used. Remember this well.
Observe whether the wound has an opening/pore. An opening indicates a male snake bite; no opening indicates a female snake bite. Use a needle to pierce the wound to create an opening. Then take the tender tips of wild Ramie (Boehmeria nivea), crush them to extract juice, mix with wine, and drink two to three cups. Apply the medicinal dregs to the wound to allow the toxin to exit through the pore. Once healed, discard the dregs in water to ensure no recurrence.
Chew Cyperi Rhizoma (Xiang Fu) and apply it to the wound; immediate effect is observed.
Gengsheng notes: Westerners treat centipede bites by chewing white pepper (Piperis Nigris Fructus) and applying it topically, which yields good results.
Drink one to two bowls of good vinegar urgently to prevent the toxic gas from spreading. Alternatively, drink one to two cups of sesame oil before applying medication. Tie a rope tightly around both ends of the injured limb. Next, grind Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Bai Zhi) into powder, mix with plain water, and ingest approximately half a liang (approx. 25g). Within moments, yellow fluid will drain completely from the bite site, swelling will subside, and the skin will heal.
