Smoke fumigation with the bark or branches of *Cunninghamia lanceolata* (Chinese fir) provides immediate pain relief and is superior to the use of spiders.

Take 1.5 qian of Mercury, 1.5 qian of *Dittrichia graveolens* (Rue), and seven Jujubes.
Pound them together into a paste and form four pills. Use one pill for fumigation every night; this is effective.

Take three seeds of *Croton tiglium* (Tiger nut croton) and 0.3 qian of *Moschus* (Musk). Grind them together into powder. Prepare two zhong of hot water, place the medicine at the bottom of the zhong, and hold your hand over the opening. Place the right hand diagonally above the left palm, and the left hand diagonally above the right palm.

Pound two jin of old ginger into a paste and place it in a large bucket of boiling water. Sit inside a cloth tent, remove clothing, and sit on the bucket. Fumigate thoroughly until cured. The first contraindication is exposure to wind.

Burn *Boswellia carterii* (Frankincense) for fumigation.

Take a handful of *Hyoscyamus niger* (Henbane), place it in a narrow-necked bottle, and burn it to produce smoke. Guide the smoke into the insect hole using a bamboo tube; the insect will die and never recur. Alternatively, place Henbane in a bottle and heat it.

Melt 3 liang of yellow beeswax. Take white paper 5 cun wide and 2 cun long, and coat it evenly by dragging it through the wax. Soften Qizhou Mugwort (*Artemisia argyi*), spread it thinly on the waxed paper, roll it into a cylinder, and insert it into the ear.

Grind seeds of *Ricinus communis* (Castor bean) into a paste, roll them in paper to form a cylinder, and inhale the smoke produced by burning it to restore patency. Using the extracted oil as a wick is even better; this is named "Holy Smoke Tube." For urgent cases of throat obstruction (Laryngospasm/Throat Bi), use this method.

Mix equal parts of *Gleditsia sinensis* (Chinese honeylocust pod) and *Croton tiglium* (Tiger nut croton) into powder. Blend with rice decoction, paint onto paper, dry it, and form it into a taper. Light it and fumigate the nose with the smoke; the mouth will open immediately, and nasal discharge will occur.

Soak bamboo paper with *Croton tiglium* (Tiger nut croton) until saturated, form it into a paper taper, light it, and rotate it while fumigating the throat with the smoke. This induces vomiting of foul blood and resolves the condition. Alternatively, puncturing the throat to release purple blood also leads to recovery.

Roll five times gallnut (*Quercus infectoria*) and mugwort wool into a cylinder. Place it in a chamber pot, cover with a tile, have the patient sit on the pot, ignite it, and let the smoke fumigate the lower orifice.

For patients with cold body but slight warmth in the center and lower abdomen:
Grind 2 liang of Cinnabar (*Cinnabaris*) and mix with 2 liang of beeswax to form pills. Place them in a fire basket for fumigation. Cover densely around to prevent smoke leakage, and simultaneously start a fire under the bed to keep the abdomen slightly warm.

Take 3 liang of processed Qizhou Mugwort (*Artemisia argyi*), 3 qian of *Momordica cochinchinensis* (Gymnema), 2 qian of Realgar (*Realgar*), and 1 qian of Sulfur.
Grind into powder, knead into the mugwort, divide into four strips. Place each strip in a Yin-Yang tile, wrap in blankets for fumigation, and subsequently administer Tongsheng San.
