Coughing accompanied by sound and phlegm is named "Ke Sou" (Cough). Investigating the cause of the disease, it is all due to Fire pathogen. However, it is not entirely unrelated to external contraction. Therefore, some are injured by Wind, some by Cold or Heat, variously different. Internal and external pathogens attack together, and the origin is gradual. Nevertheless, the name "Ke Sou" cannot be fully explained by a single term; there are several aspects of the disease, which are detailed in the "Chapter on Cough". Although the symptoms are no different from adults, the contracted pathogens are slightly different. Adults often suffer from Seven Emotions or overwork and alcoholism, whereas children do not have these, hence there must be slight differences. Medicinal prescriptions should be light and clear, and administration should not be too rapid. It should be advanced gradually by time, without necessarily completing the full dose.

Ping Fei Yin (Lung-Pacifying Decoction): Treats cough caused by Wind-Evil invasion, with excessive phlegm and aversion to cold with shivering.
Chenpi (Aged Tangerine Peel), Qianhu (Peucedani Radix), Sangpi (Mori Cortex), Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba) (each 5 fen), Gualouren (Trichosanthis Semen), Suzi (Perillae Fructus), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix) (each 4 fen), Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) three slices.

Liang Fei Tang (Lung-Cooling Decoction): Treats Lung-Heat cough, with excessive phlegm and hoarseness.
Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Beimu (Fritillariae Bulbus), Tianhuafen (Trichosanthis Radix), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus) (each 7 fen), Juhong (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Rubrum), Shanzhi (Gardeniae Fructus), Jiegeng (Platocodonis Radix), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (each 5 fen), Dengxincao (Junci Medulla) thirty stalks, taken after meals.

Ding Sou Tang (Cough-Stabilizing Decoction): Treats children with Cold-Phlegm in the Lung, manifesting as cough and wheezing/asthma.
Kudonghua (Dendranthemi Flos), Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum), Juhong (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Rubrum) (each 8 fen), Sangbaipi (Mori Cortex), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Zhishi (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus) (each 6 fen), Gualouren (Trichosanthis Semen), Dansheng (Arisaematis Cum Bile) (each 5 fen), Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) three slices, decocted and taken at any time.

Central Wu-Ji Earth is yellow, lacking bitter and pungent tastes. If purple-black appears, it indicates Wood overcoming Earth.

Qian Palace belongs to Large Intestine. Dense patterns bring disaster to the back. The anus itches and collapses; Baoyuan Tang (Preserve-Yuan Decoction) is suitable.
Kan Palace belongs to Kidney Water. Dense patterns cause Yin sores. Kidney pain feels like burning fire; death comes in seven days.
Gen Palace belongs to Kidney Meridian. Plum-blossom patterns are very cruel. If purple-black is added, teeth roots fall out in eight days.
Zhen Palace is Liver Wood. It should be large, not three. Like a product or string pattern, death comes in fourteen days.
Xun Palace belongs to Small Intestine. Sparse patterns should carry yellow. If plum-pattern red returns, stranguria and retention are not harmful.
Li Palace belongs to Heart Fire. Ant-shaped patterns are very undesirable. Four limbs cannot accept needles; the whole body has no self or other.
Kun Palace belongs to Mingmen (Gate of Life). Life and death reside within. Dense patterns are ultimately bad; sparse patterns are not ominous.
Chong Palace belongs to Lung Metal. More does not surprise me. If there is no empty space, chest and back reciprocally cause issues.
