Ling sores (malignant skin ulcers) should be punctured with a needle or knife at the head, and applied with Chansu (Toad Venom). Subsequently, Mung Bean (Vigna radiata), Wild Chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum indicum), and Cyperus rotundus powder are mixed with wine for oral administration. After falling into a drunken sleep, upon waking, pain and heat will subside naturally; it is not necessary to remove the core of the sore, as it will heal spontaneously.
For treating all types of ling sores, the roots, stems, and leaves of Zigeng Chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium var. rubrum) can be used. They are crushed to extract juice, which is dripped into the mouth for drinking. Luoli (scrofula/cervical lymphadenitis), caused by blood stasis, qi stagnation, phlegm, and heat, is treated with Oyster Shell (Ostreae Concha) calcined and powdered, combined with Scrophularia Root (Scrophulariae Radix) paste made into pills. Alternatively, ripe black Mulberry Fruit (Mori Fructus) is crushed to extract juice and boiled into a paste, taken with water. If red mulberries are used, they are dried, powdered, and taken with water. Master Zhu Danxi stated: Large river snails, including flesh, are burnt to ash retaining their properties, powdered, and mixed with a small amount of Moschus (Musk). Apply dry powder if the area is moist, or mix with oil if dry. Prunella Vulgaris (Xia Ku Cao) is highly effective in dissipating nodules and is frequently included in formulas for Luoli.
Sargassum (Hai Zao) (washed to remove sand and soil, then dried)
Kelp (Kun Bu) (rubbed to remove dirt, processed similarly to Hai Zao; these two are first ground into powder)
Polygonum Multiflorum (He Shou Wu) (pounded into powder using a wooden mortar)
Gleditsia Sinensis Thorn (Zao Jiao Ci) (fried until yellow)
Male Snake Slough (Gong She Tui) (those on trees or walls are male, use one strip; those on flat ground are female)
The above five ingredients are ground into fine powder and mixed evenly. Take pork meat from under the neck (cut open), cook thoroughly, dip in the aforementioned powder, and eat. After eating, lie inverted over the affected area for one shichen (approx. two hours). Moxibustion of seven moxa cones (zhuang) is performed on each nodule, stopping when smoke is felt in the mouth. Safety is achieved once pus is exhausted. At the initial stage, apply moxibustion to Quchi (LI11); left side for males, right side for females.
