Because of rich dietary flavors and the accumulation of stagnant qi, toxins and wind-heat are formed. Excess patterns are easy to treat, while deficiency patterns are concerning.
The disease initially arises in the Shaoyang (Lesser Yang) channel; if prohibitions and taboos are not observed, it extends to the Yangming (Yang Brightness) channel. The Gallbladder channel governs decision-making, contains ministerial fire, and has abundant qi but scarce blood. Treatment should focus on draining fire and dissipating nodules. In deficiency cases, supplement primordial qi, primarily using Qianjin San (Thousand Gold Powder); in excess cases, drain yin fire, primarily using Yuzhu San (Jade Candle Powder).
